Medical Council of India (MCI) will be replaced as National Medical Commission or NMC. 02. Students studying M.B.B.S. either in India (Government and Private colleges) or M.B.B.S./ equivalent medical Degree course abroad need to clear a Licentiate exam known as Exit test on completion of their M.B.B.S. degree. There will be no separate Screening test for students studying in India or abroad. 03. Exit test will replace N.E.E.T. PG Exam, and seats for PG education in India will be allotted on the basis of performance in Exit test. Essential Stats for MBBS seats in India: ☆Total medical colleges in India: 412 (excluding all AIIMS and JIPMER) ☆Total seats: 52715 ☆ Govt. seats: 25880 (190 colleges) ☆ Pvt. seats: 26835 (222 colleges) * Total 11 lac students (11,38,890) appeared for NEET 2017. * Out of 25880 Government seats, 52.5% that is 13587 are reserved for SC(15%), ST(7.5%), OBC (27% only non-creamy layer**) and PH (3%). ** OBC students with yearly family income below Rs 8 lacs are Non-Creamy layer.
