Nicko had a stroke early this year. This explains everything, the missing fills, simplified playing. It was never about his age or whatever bullshit. This man was seriously ill battling for his life and STILL he played the tour. What a beast, what a willpower. There is no Maiden without him.
Yes, it does not sound like the record - his right side was paralized. That's his bassdrum-foot, alright. Imagine! This man is killing himself out there only so us idiots can have a fun night out and do not have to return our tickets. Think about that. That's Lemmy-level of dedication. I went to see the tour and I sure did have a fun night out. Thank you Nicko! It still sounds pretty damn good to me. Better than most, really ...
Without intending to, Nicko's giving a great lesson on how beginner drummers can simplify what they hear on a song to be within their ability and range.
Studio Album version drum track (Somewhere in Time) Nicko was 34 years old. He is 71 years old playing this at this time. Give him a break. His right foot isn't as quick as it was 37 years ago!
I didn't know he had a stroke until that news broke a few days ago - and considering thát did happen, I'll admit to be baffled by Nicko's resilience, even at that age!! I would've forgiven him a few mishaps due to age alone 🤣🤣🤣 Drummers put a tremendous amount of strain on their physique...
I can’t agree. His right foot works very good and fast, he has some coordination issues, which he can fix I believe. Also his right arm is little bit weaker, this should also get better as he plays more often.
First of all, in Somewhere in Time many tom fills were overdubbed, it’s impossible to play them live. Then, Nicko is 71 years old and few days ago he revealed that he had a stroke in January and half of his body was paralysed. I’d like to see who criticised him how they will arrive at the age of 71 after a stroke with paralysis. I guess most of them will spend all day sitting on their sofa, watching tv all day, playing cards or chess with friends and going to sleep very early. Or they simply wouldn’t have survived. Everyone shut up and hats off to Nico!
@@stormbending6044 I will check well, but it seems to me that the original cd booklet said that drum fills had been recorded in Compass Point Studio, Bahamas.
Nicko is a legend and it is unbelievable that he's doing the tour only months after the stroke, but he used to play it as the studio version. All the drumfills and everything were done back in the SiT tour. Still, it's amazing that he can do the 2 hours set. Simply amazing.
Je les récupère avec de l'IA, c'est pas toujours parfait mais ça reste bluffant. Je comptais le faire pour d'anciennes tournées, ça peut vraiment être cool pour comparer !
@@garymitchell5899wtf, the point is just to add audio cues for listeners, with a little judgement and common sense and if you know the band you know when Nicko is actually playing
You can clearly hear the out PA come ON when the tape stops, Nicko is just playing along to get the tempo right, it is a bit of a cold start otherwise.
verdade, original bumbo é galopada sequencial, nessa versão horrivel muito intervalo nota do bumbo , = 1 bumbo e caixa, the prisioner, the trooper, heaven can what tambem ficou faltando presença do bumbo
It's the look of the draw when it comes to singers and drummers when they get into their 60s and 70s. Look at Tommy Aldridge who despite having some health issues is playing like a 25 year old - nailing perfect. Jagger again in fine fettle along with Dickinson. Then you have Bono who at 60 is on his last legs already, Bowie punished his body and died an early death. It's partly genes, partly the abuse one puts themselves through over the years, drunk and drugs being the main culprit - that will get you in your 60s and 70s. It's catching everyone out now as we can see.

Yeah, just read it, i love him so much
Absolutely right. He's doing really well, all things considered! 😎🤘
He wasn't fighting for his life have some respect
Yes! His drumming still remains punchy and hits hard! There is so much groove in this and as a hot take, more notes does not equal better!
❤
The man is a MONSTER! 6 months after a stroke???!!! Do me a favour! TOTAL LEGEND❤.
Listen to his right foot. He still has that classic Nicko McBrain right foot. This man's right side was paralyzed in January.
This man is a legend.
100% true, brother. Nicko put his full soul into this come back. God bless him!!
he is a Hero
he goes on stage every fucki** night and does his best.
the Man deserves FULL love and respect

This is amazing! He must have worked so hard during physical therapy to get back into playing shape :)

Nicko forever!! Nothing but respect and love for our drummer!! Up the Irons!!!
I wish good health to Nicko, our favorite drummer :)

The best record in my humble opinion (not an old-school fan, only got to finally know their catalogue in its entirety a couple years back)
Emocionante, lenda viva!
Nicko rules!! UP THE IRONS 🤘
WE LOVE YOU NICKO!!!
Larga vida al gran Nicko!!!
NICKO (GOD), HAS BLESS YOU AND US.
Great respect, Nicko is the best.
god bless this awesome man, Mr. Nicko Mc Brain!
Saw them in this tour. NOTHING wrong with Nicko’s drumming. I repeat NOTHING🤘
and you're delusional. The guy was weak sounding. He missed so many fills. He was sluggish.
@@stevenlornie1261and I wonder why 🤷♂️

Love nicko! Give em hell mate

UP THE IRONS
Can you do the other band members too? Very cool
Where did you found this áudio?? Do you have the sound of full band playing this? That's áudio is great!!!
it's simply an audience recording, it sounds very good, i agree

I call bullshit on drum fill overdubs on SiT.

bollocks.. nicko played it right back in 86.. no overdubs
And dont forget he had to recover from a stroke. Genious
Who are you talking to ?
Comment tu as récupéré ces drum tracks ? Ça serait super cool d'en avoir pour d'autres lives d'anciennes tournées

Can't wait to hear more of such isolated records!
@IRONBEAST_ so if you made this with AI, does it use multiple videos from 1 show, or does it use multiple shows?
@@neighborbruce it's a bootleg that's been recorded in Birmingham, so only one track, one source
@IRONBEAST_ that's awesome man. Thanks for doing that!
Nicko doesn't sound bad here
Not even in 1986 did it sound like it was on the record..
It didn't sound like someone fell on the drums either
@@garymitchell5899considering the fact that he's 71 and just had stroke in january, i would say he's doing pretty well
I'd rather hear him at 40% than another drummer.
Nicko play during the intro????
I know…. Not heard that before?
I’ll take him at 30% over another drummer.
original version the bass drum is faster, this horrible interval that is, like scot travis playing painkiller with a bass drum
Er the intro up to the fireworks is always a tape - it isn't played live. This is super dodgy.
It's not, everybody knows it's a tape, it has always been played like that, even in 1986/87
@@IRONBEAST_ Exactly. It's a tape. So why does your video have someone playing it live?? Super dodgy.

You can clearly hear the out PA come ON when the tape stops, Nicko is just playing along to get the tempo right, it is a bit of a cold start otherwise.
In my view, he clearly has many problems with the drum rolls. He hardly hits the toms.
