UPDATE: Round Lab is no longer cruelty free - sold in China, which requires animal testing for sunscreen (classified as special use cosmetics). The remaining brands in this video are still cruelty-free. This is disappointing as it was one of my fav brands and I've stocked up a good chunk of their products, but I will NEVER repurchase and review their products again. Sucks to see such a well-loved brand stooping so low for profit.
Great video thank you. I am always on the lookout for the perfect ( for me) sunscreen. I tried the Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum and i like the consistency but for some reason it stings for the first 10 minutes on my sensitive areas ( from using tret) So sadly I gave mine to my mum. My current fave is SKIN AQUA UV Super Moisture Gel ( not sure if thats korean or Japanese?) but it's been brilliant so far and no sting, not greasy and doesn't even sting my eyes. I want to try the BOJ rice one you mentioned. Thanks for the info, it was very helpful.
Hi there! This is just a wild guess, but I've heard that those on tret often get irritated by niacinamide, which is an ingredient in the SKIN1004 sunscreen. The BOJ rice and probiotics also has niacinamide so keep that in mind. Korean brands loooove throwing niacinamide in their formula and the only sunscreen without it in this review is the Purito one. Purito also has another sunscreen called the Daily Soft-touch (I wanted to get this but bought the other by mistake lol) that looks pretty safe for sensitve skin + a ton of ceramides that help with your skin barrier. You might want to check that out instead :)
I have normal to dry skin, and the Isntree Hyaluronic Watery Sun Gel is my absolute favorite under matte foundations. I totally disagree about it feeling greasy, but my skin leans more dry. It gives glass skin glow without feeling heavy or greasy in my skin. It is a bit too glowy if you don’t wear any makeup. But under makeup, it’s perfection! 10/10 Just wish it was waterproof. Still looking for a good one to take to the beach that doesn’t feel greasy.
Very informative vid! I love that you give so many details about these sunscreens. I've been using the BOJ sunscreen in the tube and love it. The Round Lab and Skin 1004 are ones I will try. Also, Klairs for winter.
It’s interesting how we have differing experiences with the Isntree onion sunscreen compared to their original one! As much as I would’ve loved to obsess over their onion purple sunscreen, it was too heavy and greasy for me. I guess it’s with their use of old US filters hence why it’s only SPF 40 as well. I have the Instree HA Watery Sun Gel in the new packaging (although I think it’s still the same formula?) and I prefer it over their onion sunscreen. It’s lighter and although shiny and needs setting with powder, which I do not mind, is also a more elegant formula. It’s currently my go-to after using Skin 1004 for a long time because I started using prescription tretinoin and my skin developed a sensitivity towards it. Quite sad because I didn’t need to use powder with that one even with combo skin paired with a hot and humid weather. My top sunscreen would also be Round Lab! If it weren’t for the high price tag, I would definitely always reach for it time and again in a heartbeat. The formula just feels like heaven and my skin seems to glow from the inside as the day passes by. So disappointed to hear it’s no longer cruelty free! Ugh, I guess I also won’t be repurchasing again. As for the BOJ sunscreen, I’m one of the few who isn’t that much of a fan of it. It’s good but it seems to not work with my skin undertone. The fact that I also got to try the Skin 1004 before the BOJ one, probably played a role to how I assessed it. I just prefer the cooler undertone and lack of yellow undertones with the Skin 1004. Never had the problem with Round Lab in that aspect when it comes to application and finish though, even it evidently also has a yellow tinge to it similar to the BOJ. Really enjoyed your review! Fantastic among the array of K-Beauty sunscreen reviews out there!
Totally agree with you on the purple sunscreen, after using it for a while I've retired it to arm duty because it's sooo so greasy and heavy. I never noticed the yellow undertone with the BoJ one, probably because I have yellow undertone 😂Good to note for those with cooler undertones though. I'm also very sad to see round lab testing on animals, but I've been testing a ton of new sunscreens for my next review and tbh, I no longer miss it so much. I'll share some new picks in my next video 🫶
I would also suggest the numbuzin No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence as a potential alternative to the Round Lab sunscreen. It's not cruelty-free (as far as I know) and feels very light on the skin.
Beautiful and informative - thank you so much! 🤩It sometimes is difficult to find out which sunscreens are both, cruelty free and vegan since some sellers don't (or don't consistently 🙄) include this information. For your next video like this you could include: Barr - "Centella Soothing Sun Essence" and Purito SEOUL - "Wonder Releaf Centella Daily Sun Lotion".
So much looove for KBeauty sunscreens! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 Where is this beach located? Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the hard work you put into this video. Such a beautiful review. Hope you'll get to try the Goodal Heartleaf Calming Moisture Sun Cream and the House of HUR Weightless Sun Fluid 💛💛✨ Probably the best sunscreens for oily skin! 😊
I'm soo happy you enjoyed the review!! This beach is on Prince Edward Island, Canada 🫶 I'll check the goodal and house of HUR out, hope that they're cruelty free 🐰
loved it! which sunscreen would you reccommend for someone who is very sensitive around the eye area? a lot of spfs have stung my eyes so i really want to find one which doesnt
Hmm off the top of my head I can think of the Round Lab, SKIN1004 and Purito (alternating between these 3 rn.) I can tell you what to avoid though - absolutely do NOT touch the BoJ ginseng or isntree ones they made me cry a river when I accidentally rubbed my eyes 😭
ooohhh, this video was so nicely done! very clean and fresh. 🧡✨️ i was wondering, do you have any tinted spf recommendations? still cruelty free, of course! i want to use some colored ones so i can skip foundation in my makeup routine.
Thank you for giving it a watch 💜 round lab birch juice has a tinted version and isntree has the yam root line that’s tinted. If the formulas are not different from the versions I tried, pretty sure they will be a joy to use! They however only have 1 shade and are marketed as tone-up sunscreen so keep in mind that it can be very pale
I have used the round lab one but it gave me comedonal acne..which one can i use for my extreme oily, acne prone skin..also my face gets too greasy and sticky..please answer..btw loved your video
Hi there, I hear you. I would strongly advise you to check with a derm if you have specific skin concerns. To give you my best guess, could your be reacting to any of the oil/extracts in this sunscreen? Maybe look for an oil-free one?
@@camelleonx thank you.. And if you can please make any video for oily, acne prone skincare routine. Would be much help for me and all the oily acne prone skin peoples, coz there are many oily acne prone skincare routine videos which do not provide much satisfying results ( though we know everyone has different skin types).. But your video is very informative which helps to understand the product very well..that's my request to you..thank you..and please keep making such videos..
Would u recommend the Iunik one for a person that's looking for a nice finish and not greasy? I'm afraid of the finish being too oily but I guess it's not :D I live in a very hot country so im conccerned about the finish looking like sweat ahahhshhs. Tysm sm for ur attention if u get to read this
Hi there!! Originally from a hot and humid country myself so I know the struggle. I would recommend setting your sunscreen with clear powder if you have oily skin. The iUnik one would be fine if you leave it time to dry in a room with AC, but otherwise it will be a bit sticky (and prob oily looking). I would go for a water-like formula like Round Lab, SKIN1004, BoJ or Benton instead 🫶
@@camelleonx Ohh okayy, Tysm for the advice, I appreciate it sm bc I was searching and I was afraid since it's the 1st time i'm gonna get a korean sunscreen!

Finally! A video that focuses on cruelty free Korean Sunscreens! Thank you!
Right! This is so important. I love my Beauty by Joseon one but I was on the hunt for a cruelty free waterproof one for pool days or beach.
i can tell a lot of effort went into making this video and its soooooo informative and aesthetic! subscribed! ⭐️
a bit of work for sure, but I can't complain about the gorgeous beach days I had 😚 it means a lot to me when my effort is seen, THANK YOU!!
Thank you so much for this video! It’s hard to find cruelty free gurus!
Glad it was helpful!
Try numbuzin no. 1 clear filter suncreen

El mejor video sobre protectores solares que he visto, y he visto muchos. Informativo y sin embargo muy entretenido y relajante de ver
