Rechenka is one of my all time favorites from the amazing Diana. Got me this is a world class performance. I think she is just one of the must unusually talented singers around. There is something about the tone of her voice that I love so much. It is hard to believe she is so talented at such a young age. She sang this French song “No Regret” or something like that, it is truly amazing and at a younger age. She is not scared on stage, ever. I think she feels most comfortable when performing to a crowd. This girl can yodel also. She did another contest where she yodeled all the way through the song. I am sure you can find it on her page, English section. This year she also did a cover of a song called “My Love”, using a lot of her lower register. It is amazing! Yes. This is a special & unique performance. As special and unique as the artist. She was 14 here, now 19 years of age. The woman you see 1/2 way through is Irina; Diana's adoptive mother, who brought her to speech pathology sessions and via that process they discovered and further developed her voice. Diana herself says she prefers to look forward positively, so I think it's important that we respect that and not constantly rehash her challenging start in life. The only thing therefore I will say, and believe I speak for many, is that we are all very grateful that this wonderful artist is a survivor and clearly going from strength to strength. Diana not only has a very unique, instantly recognisable vocal timbre, but she also has, as you noticed, a wonderful artistic intelligence. Her stage presence, rests not only on a lot of vocal training, which she is continuing, but her natural ability to 'word paint'. Ie; to thoroughly inhabit and convey the story line of the song. This is a career to watch! : )
No. It's not only song. This is whole performance - Diana show herself as a great universal artist with gorgeous voice and good acting skills at 14 y.o. It's more than only singing or only playing. This is pure art as i think.
It is yodelling but she breaks from the clean high low .. convention to inject a measure of distressed sobbing. This is one defining young artist performances on U Tube.. she is a fabulous story teller and vocal artist. Diana is S Tier in every category. To me, Diana's skill and power and passion and artistry and theatricality and vocal tone are unsurpassed by anybody. And just think--her voice and body are still growing and won't be fully developed for another 5-10 years. Wow! I'm an old man. I haven't been this amazed by a musical artist since I first listened to Jimi Hendrix back in 1967. She has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. Also, there is a physical reason that Diana is "captivating" and "mesmerizing". People call it The Diana Effect, and it is very real. She resonates multiple harmonics that sound very mystical and magical, almost like she casts a musical spell. Others have called her a musical sorceress. It is especially noticeable when she holds her low notes. And it never gets old. I listen to Diana every day and I'm as spellbound today as I was the first time I heard her.

Hi Bob, I like what you're doing. While I'll admit that I'm only here because of your Diana videos, I'm sure that your other videos are as good (Now I'll have to look). After seeing this performance, I lost interest in any other performer. I know that there are many good and great singers in the world, but what Diana does goes beyond mere singing. I think that words don't exist, which can describe what she does. We can only describe what we feel.
Wonderful reaction that describes what I felt on my first listen years ago. I never tire of listening to this. Another absolutely amazing video of hers is “Finicky Horses”. I prefer her first version as it has English subtitles and you need to her her commentary at the end. This is soul stirring and absolutely unique and beautiful. Please enjoy whenever you can. Hello Bob, for me this is musical theater at it's best. The stage, Diana's voice and her acting. Outstanding. A masterpiece. Did you see the jury looking at each other in disbelief? The story is about an orphan who is about to get married and talks to the river like her parents to get her blessings. The river is the connection to the hereafter. Diana was in the orphanage herself. So this could be her story. I suspect that's why Diana can identify with it so much. At least I believe every single word she sings. Yes. This is a special & unique performance. As special and unique as the artist. She was 14 here, now 19 years of age.
The woman you see 1/2 way through is Irina; Diana's adoptive mother, who brought her to speech pathology sessions and via that process they discovered and further developed her voice.
Diana herself says she prefers to look forward positively, so I think it's important that we respect that and not constantly rehash her challenging start in life.
The only thing therefore I will say, and believe I speak for many, is that we are all very grateful that this wonderful artist is a survivor and clearly going from strength to strength.
Diana not only has a very unique, instantly recognisable vocal timbre, but she also has, as you noticed, a wonderful artistic intelligence. Her stage presence, rests not only on a lot of vocal training, which she is continuing, but her natural ability to 'word paint'. Ie; to thoroughly inhabit and convey the story line of the song. This is a career to watch! : )

I'm an old man. I haven't been this amazed by a musical artist since I first listened to Jimi Hendrix back in 1967. She has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. Also, there is a physical reason that Diana is "captivating" and "mesmerizing". People call it The Diana Effect, and it is very real. She resonates multiple harmonics that sound very mystical and magical, almost like she casts a musical spell. Others have called her a musical sorceress. It is especially noticeable when she holds her low notes. And it never gets old. I listen to Diana every day and I'm as spellbound today as I was the first time I heard her.

The 'yodel' is a glottal attack as they say in the trade and Dimash does an astounding example of this in Sinful Passion. You hear the sound of the silk road come through Diana and Dimash's songs. I love it. Diana's father is said to be Tajikistani so it is in her DNA (and why she is so exotically beautiful).
I have appreciated great music all my life but have NEVER been affected in the same way as Diana and Dimash affect me. And I know I am not alone. Like Dimash, she has no 'genre' they go where they please and combine what they like and it is transcendent!

I like what you're doing. While I'll admit that I'm only here because of your Diana videos, I'm sure that your other videos are as good (Now I'll have to look).
After seeing this performance, I lost interest in any other performer. I know that there are many good and great singers in the world, but what Diana does goes beyond mere singing. I think that words don't exist, which can describe what she does. We can only describe what we feel.
Wonderful reaction that describes what I felt on my first listen years ago. I never tire of listening to this. Another absolutely amazing video of hers is “Finicky Horses”. I prefer her first version as it has English subtitles and you need to her her commentary at the end. This is soul stirring and absolutely unique and beautiful. Please enjoy whenever you can. Btw, I’ve never heard a bad song from her. “Human”, Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode) or her original “Closest Soul” are absolutely brilliant as well (I love both the sand art version and her dedication to her grandmother in a small venue. Hello Bob, for me this is musical theater at it's best. The stage, Diana's voice and her acting. Outstanding. A masterpiece. Did you see the jury looking at each other in disbelief?
The story is about an orphan who is about to get married and talks to the river like her parents to get her blessings. The river is the connection to the hereafter.
Diana was in the orphanage herself. So this could be her story. I suspect that's why Diana can identify with it so much. At least I believe every single word she sings.

This was Diana's third performance on the show You Are Super, a singing competition for disadvantaged children. She first sang Deniere Danse in French and then It's A Man's World in English. The judges thought she should sing her next song in Russian and thus Rechenka.
She doesn't just sing a song, she paints it with her voice. She said in an interview that she doesn't want to sing just the notes of a song, she wants to sing from inside the song.

In 2018 Diana sang this song here for the first time at the singing competition 'You are Super!' (she was 14 years old). This international TV competition is unique in the world and was specially developed for adopted and orphaned children. It is designed not only to give positive emotions to children who do not have a prosperous childhood, but also to hope for changes in their destiny.
Diana entered the competition 'You are Super!' in 2018 and 2019 and won twice. The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon she had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists start studying and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship to the College of Music. Igor Krutoy, as a juror, gave her a small apartment in Moscow.
