Greetings from Scotland! Diana Ankudinova is inimitable, immensely talented and totally unique in the music world! I'm not sure how much you know about this young lady, so I shall try to encapsulate her life:- Diana was 18yo here. She is 19yo currently but I've been following her since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she now has a 4 octave range and it's increasing. Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) she dragged her to a bus stop with a broken collarbone and abandoned her, saying "Survive if you can" A passing relative took her in but because she cried constantly (naturally with a broken collarbone) she took her to the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage! This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. Yeah she’s amazing… there is no one like her.. this one was one of her somewhat more recent ones.. Rechenka is my next favorite of hers.. I love this one though.. she goes polyphonic on a couple notes.. mouth wide open and goes poly…totally nuts.. Briefly, his name is Dimash Kudaibergen, from Kazakhstan, born in 1994, height 192cm, has a voice that covers over 7 octaves, is classically trained. Dimash was catapulted into popularity in 2017 when he competed at the The Singer competition in China. He was drawn as a wildcard to enter, and was the first ever non-Chinese and the youngest ever contestant to perform AND he was first to start (no pressure!) …. this is the performance that captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers overnight and brought Dimash to the attention of the world - all of us with our jaws on our chests. Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

Hi, it's not a talent show, more a singing show. The show itself is called "ShowMaskGoOn" and was an offshoot of the Russian version of "The Masked Singer". Nine established singers were invited to sing songs in nine different genres over the nine week run of the show - the singers then critiqued each other. This was filmed about a year ago when Diana was 18 years old (she's now 19). There are eight other performances from Diana on the show. Diana's voice is a contralto (lowest female voice) and she is able to generate polyphonic overtones. In this particular performance her range was just short of 3 octaves, although she can go lower and higher.

She is a contralto and she is also polyphonic, which means she can produce several tones at the same time. It makes her voice sound so full. Diana's background: Diana was born on May 31, 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She was severely abused as a small child and abandoned on the street by her birth mother in winter when she was only 3 years old with a broken collarbone. She was then taken to an orphanage where, after more than one year, she was adopted by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist. At the age of four and a half, Diana still could not speak properly. She also stuttered. Experts recommended that she take singing lessons to improve her general speaking and vocal skills. This is a new TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion. The judge who stands up is the great opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and the husband of Anna Netrebko, who is world famous. I don't think that anyone understands RUclips's policies. They seem to be completely random. Sometimes a video is blocked, another time it's not. RUclips promotes this video, but it is basically a bootleg. There are others, which might have been made available for viewing in other countries. Regardless of these difficulties, Diana is an amazing artist. Some people will call her "the best singer in the world". Others will demean her by saying that she is another version of someone else. I won't say that she is either of those. I will only call her a once in a lifetime artist.

For you and those in your audience that don’t know, this performance took place in 2021which was the inaugural season of a new Russian vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn!" and Diana’s cover of Elvis Presley’s classic "Can't Help Falling In Love", shows Diana Ankudinova has developed into what many vocal professionals say is a true contralto. For those that don’t know female voice types, a contralto is the lowest kind of female voice, and a true contralto voice is very, very rare. First, very common questions are asked about Diana's vocal range, because the vocal range helps in defining a female singer's voice type. As of September 2021, at age 18, (she is now 19), her functional range was measured from a low of C3 to a high of B♭5, meaning Diana falls into the contralto voice type and has almost a 3-octave range. But, it's not just about how low she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her lower register. It's the roundness, the fullness, and the depth of her voice, along with her ability to create and access an enormous amount of resonance that defines Diana as a "dramatic contralto", which is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. What most people want to know is, how does Diana do it? How can such a young female singer achieve such a low, rich, deep, and profound sound? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is actually producing those low notes to see what is happening within her vocal tract, the general conciseness of many vocal professionals is simply attributing Diana’s ability to her winning the genetic lottery. She was just born with unique vocal anatomy and has learned how to use it. Diana’s vocal folds appear longer and thicker than most female singers. Her larynx also appears to be larger and her pharynx similarly appears to be longer than other female singers. This unique vocal anatomy gives Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce low, deep, rich, and full sounds. Without the ability to actually scope Diana’s vocal track, there is no way to be 100% sure. To really appreciate the vocal progression of Diana’s contralto sound, listen to "Rechenka", a Russian folk song sung in Russian for a vocal competition for disadvantaged teens called "You Are Super!" during their 2018 Season when Diana was only 14 years old. You can hear the beginning of Diana’s deep and rich lower range and the mature voice for someone so young. Next, listen to her cover of Chris Izaak's, "Wicked Game" the following year in 2019 when she was 15 years old during the 2019 Season of "You Are Super!". Diana Ankudinova's voice is now just about in the contralto vocal range but just not quite there yet. Diana Ankudinova won both the 2018 and 2019 seasons of “You Are Super”. Diana at 18 is also a real polyphonic singer, extraordinary for someone so young. A singer who has mastered this polyphonic vocal technique can create one, and sometimes two, different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and undertones that can make it sound like more than one voice singing. This polyphonic ability is why some people mistakenly believe Diana Ankudinova is using some form of electronic voice manipulation or pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Others believe another person is singing off stage in the background, or she is lip-syncing over a previously recorded vocal track that was altered or modified. There is no artificial manipulation of Diana's voice of any kind going on at all. Neither is anyone else singing off stage nor is she lip-syncing to a vocal track. The “ShowMaskGoOn” is a very competitive vocal competition and Diana Ankudinova is required to use only the equipment provided to her as all other competitors are required to do. There was no opportunity for her or any other competitor to use any equipment to electronically manipulate or alter their voice. All the other voices you are hearing are a vocal backing track used to fill in and round out the performance along with a backing track that contains the music score. Diana Ankudinova and only Diana Ankudinova is singing “Can't Help Falling In Love”. Female singers usually don't reach their full vocal maturity until somewhere around 24 to 28 years of age although some reach it sooner, and others, later. Diana Ankudinova’s vocals are already developed well ahead of schedule in reaching vocal maturity. Some believe she has already reached vocal maturity, but the jury is still out. Diana took part in the “ShowMaskGoOn!” vocal competition that spanned 9 weeks and each competitor had to sing a different song from a different genre using a different style each week. Diana Ankudinova performed her cover of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” as her first song. The judges were a panel of nine professional singers. During Diana’s performance, the judge on the top row that stands up first during the performance is the well-known Russian tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan who was invited as a special guest judge for this competition. Yusif Eyvazov is also married to the world-famous soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana’s performance, she received a standing ovation from all of her fellow competitors. Another judge, Julia Parshuta, who is also a well-known contemporary Russian singer is the blond woman standing in the center row dressed in red. She looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head, and looks totally bewildered and in disbelief. Julia Parshuta, along with the other judges knows that at some point, she and all the other judges have to compete against Diana Ankudinova, who everyone now knows is a generational talent. Greetings from Scotland! Diana Ankudinova is inimitable, immensely talented and totally unique in the music world! I'm not sure how much you know about this young lady, so I shall try to encapsulate her life:-
Diana was 18yo here. She is 19yo currently but I've been following her since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she now has a 4 octave range and it's increasing. Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) she dragged her to a bus stop with a broken collarbone and abandoned her, saying "Survive if you can" A passing relative took her in but because she cried constantly (naturally with a broken collarbone) she took her to the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage!
This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. Yeah she’s amazing… there is no one like her.. this one was one of her somewhat more recent ones.. Rechenka is my next favorite of hers.. I love this one though.. she goes polyphonic on a couple notes.. mouth wide open and goes poly…totally nuts.. She has a tone similar to Cher and at times Shakira, but is totally her own and no one like her! Her and Dimash are my favorite soloists of all time!

Briefly, his name is Dimash Kudaibergen, from Kazakhstan, born in 1994, height 192cm, has a voice that covers over 7 octaves, is classically trained. Dimash was catapulted into popularity in 2017 when he competed at the The Singer competition in China. He was drawn as a wildcard to enter, and was the first ever non-Chinese and the youngest ever contestant to perform AND he was first to start (no pressure!) …. this is the performance that captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers overnight and brought Dimash to the attention of the world - all of us with our jaws on our chests. Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

Hi, it's not a talent show, more a singing show. The show itself is called "ShowMaskGoOn" and was an offshoot of the Russian version of "The Masked Singer". Nine established singers were invited to sing songs in nine different genres over the nine week run of the show - the singers then critiqued each other. This was filmed about a year ago when Diana was 18 years old (she's now 19). There are eight other performances from Diana on the show.
Diana's voice is a contralto (lowest female voice) and she is able to generate polyphonic overtones. In this particular performance her range was just short of 3 octaves, although she can go lower and higher.

Diana has a very rare voice. She is a contralto and she is also polyphonic, which means she can produce several tones at the same time. It makes her voice sound so full.
Diana's background: Diana was born on May 31, 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She was severely abused as a small child and abandoned on the street by her birth mother in winter when she was only 3 years old with a broken collarbone. She was then taken to an orphanage where, after more than one year, she was adopted by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist. At the age of four and a half, Diana still could not speak properly. She also stuttered. Experts recommended that she take singing lessons to improve her general speaking and vocal skills.
This is a new TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion. The judge who stands up is the great opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and the husband of Anna Netrebko, who is world famous. He's very impressed.

I don't think that anyone understands RUclips's policies. They seem to be completely random. Sometimes a video is blocked, another time it's not.
RUclips promotes this video, but it is basically a bootleg. There are others, which might have been made available for viewing in other countries.
Regardless of these difficulties, Diana is an amazing artist. Some people will call her "the best singer in the world". Others will demean her by saying that she is another version of someone else. I won't say that she is either of those. I will only call her a once in a lifetime artist.

Coachmichael101, welcome to the extraordinary talent and voice of Diana Ankudinova! For you and those in your audience that don’t know, this performance took place in 2021which was the inaugural season of a new Russian vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn!" and Diana’s cover of Elvis Presley’s classic "Can't Help Falling In Love", shows Diana Ankudinova has developed into what many vocal professionals say is a true contralto. For those that don’t know female voice types, a contralto is the lowest kind of female voice, and a true contralto voice is very, very rare.
First, very common questions are asked about Diana's vocal range, because the vocal range helps in defining a female singer's voice type. As of September 2021, at age 18, (she is now 19), her functional range was measured from a low of C3 to a high of B♭5, meaning Diana falls into the contralto voice type and has almost a 3-octave range. But, it's not just about how low she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her lower register. It's the roundness, the fullness, and the depth of her voice, along with her ability to create and access an enormous amount of resonance that defines Diana as a "dramatic contralto", which is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types.
What most people want to know is, how does Diana do it? How can such a young female singer achieve such a low, rich, deep, and profound sound? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is actually producing those low notes to see what is happening within her vocal tract, the general conciseness of many vocal professionals is simply attributing Diana’s ability to her winning the genetic lottery. She was just born with unique vocal anatomy and has learned how to use it. Diana’s vocal folds appear longer and thicker than most female singers. Her larynx also appears to be larger and her pharynx similarly appears to be longer than other female singers. This unique vocal anatomy gives Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce low, deep, rich, and full sounds. Without the ability to actually scope Diana’s vocal track, there is no way to be 100% sure.
To really appreciate the vocal progression of Diana’s contralto sound, listen to "Rechenka", a Russian folk song sung in Russian for a vocal competition for disadvantaged teens called "You Are Super!" during their 2018 Season when Diana was only 14 years old. You can hear the beginning of Diana’s deep and rich lower range and the mature voice for someone so young. Next, listen to her cover of Chris Izaak's, "Wicked Game" the following year in 2019 when she was 15 years old during the 2019 Season of "You Are Super!". Diana Ankudinova's voice is now just about in the contralto vocal range but just not quite there yet. Diana Ankudinova won both the 2018 and 2019 seasons of “You Are Super”.
Diana at 18 is also a real polyphonic singer, extraordinary for someone so young. A singer who has mastered this polyphonic vocal technique can create one, and sometimes two, different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and undertones that can make it sound like more than one voice singing. This polyphonic ability is why some people mistakenly believe Diana Ankudinova is using some form of electronic voice manipulation or pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Others believe another person is singing off stage in the background, or she is lip-syncing over a previously recorded vocal track that was altered or modified. There is no artificial manipulation of Diana's voice of any kind going on at all. Neither is anyone else singing off stage nor is she lip-syncing to a vocal track. The “ShowMaskGoOn” is a very competitive vocal competition and Diana Ankudinova is required to use only the equipment provided to her as all other competitors are required to do. There was no opportunity for her or any other competitor to use any equipment to electronically manipulate or alter their voice. All the other voices you are hearing are a vocal backing track used to fill in and round out the performance along with a backing track that contains the music score. Diana Ankudinova and only Diana Ankudinova is singing “Can't Help Falling In Love”.
Female singers usually don't reach their full vocal maturity until somewhere around 24 to 28 years of age although some reach it sooner, and others, later. Diana Ankudinova’s vocals are already developed well ahead of schedule in reaching vocal maturity. Some believe she has already reached vocal maturity, but the jury is still out. Diana took part in the “ShowMaskGoOn!” vocal competition that spanned 9 weeks and each competitor had to sing a different song from a different genre using a different style each week. Diana Ankudinova performed her cover of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” as her first song. The judges were a panel of nine professional singers. During Diana’s performance, the judge on the top row that stands up first during the performance is the well-known Russian tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan who was invited as a special guest judge for this competition. Yusif Eyvazov is also married to the world-famous soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana’s performance, she received a standing ovation from all of her fellow competitors. Another judge, Julia Parshuta, who is also a well-known contemporary Russian singer is the blond woman standing in the center row dressed in red. She looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head, and looks totally bewildered and in disbelief. Julia Parshuta, along with the other judges knows that at some point, she and all the other judges have to compete against Diana Ankudinova, who everyone now knows is a generational talent. Finally, Diana won this competition.
