nxlxn Joey has been on both sides, but I think he's happy to be on the good side for once. He loves what he does and he's made a great life for his family outside of racing. Having kids changes people. I would be smiling too.

The 2 drivers Denny called losers, Logano and Kezelowski, showed everyone who the real loser is. After 15 years you would think Denny would learn to stop running his mouth and feeding these fires with the new drivers.

Having a 2x champ talk to u is much different then having a wanna be champ come complaining.
The real issue is that, like everything else in the political world we live in. We have people in positions making decisions about things they have never participated in or may not even have the ability and skill to ever do. They will never be in the seat to experience the perspective or thought process of a driver. This is the Grey area that they should stay out of and respect eachothers position.

Why would Joey care about the penalty levied on Denny Hamlin? He's racing his own season trying to win a 3rd title. He couldn't care less about what Hamlin OR what Chastain do to each other on the track. Just as long as it doesn't get in HIS way.

Nascar loved when the young guys would wreck people to win. The senior guys hated the disrespect on the track. As the seniors retired and left the sport, the young guys became the seniors. Now, the new seniors complain of lack of respect on the track. Nascar has no idea how to handle it, they need the old viewers to stay, and they need new viewers to watch more. The rules reflect this view from nascar, and that leads to interviews like this....
youre exactly right. I wouldnt even care but if you let Logano, Keselowski or Hamlin make the rules they'd all have steel bumpers and the rest of the drivers would be driving open wheel. Mucho respect to Chase Elliott for being slick and doing it the best way to Hamlin

1. He didn't fence him. Watch the onboard and you'll see the 24 held his line and Joey didn't lift.
2. The rule in violation states "Attempting to manipulate the outcome of the race or championship and wrecking or spinning another vehicle, whether or not that vehicle is removed from competition as a result." And that's exactly what he didn't. He literally drove through him to take the position. Said as much in his post race and doubled down on it.
Hold on, HOLD ON! I've not been a fan of "Sliced Bread". But,,,I do have to agree with what he says at around the 1:05 point of the vid. The difference between racing, and racing hard for position, or wrecking the other driver.
Valid point, rubbing is racing, wrecking is wrecking. How does NASCAR define or determine the difference between racing and wrecking going forward?

I hate all the new school woke guys driving for toyota. We all know the deal. We dont need a reiteration of the rules. If you make it look obvious or you admit it was on purpose you will get in trouble. It's simple. It's not unfair. It's not unexpected.
If you take somebody out they may come after you at another race to get even- it doesnt matter if you say it was only racing. If you get even by wrecking someone there will be consequences if you make it obvious. That's the deal. Now you have all these do gooder babyfaces who act like they do no wrong and dont like when ppl get even with them and dont want to get in trouble when they retaliate. This is NASCAR. Go drive open wheel or some broke boy underfunded stock car league if you want no contact

That said, I'm not a Hamlin fan but he has been bounced around by other drivers lately. Chastain has huge balls but he needs to start racing a little cleaner. Like Kyle Busch said, there is no respect any longer. Just crash and run. Soon, nobody will have any respect for anyone or anything.
