He wrote the damn song! And he sang it beautifully! I wore out my 45 rpm record playing this song after seeing the movie. This song portrayed exactly what the movie and the message was about. Frankly, both impacted my soul and how I live my life.

The original record was by The Original Caste. Esther 'Jinx' Dawson was hired to perform the vocals backed by studio musicians for 𝘉𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘑𝘢𝘤𝘬 and specifically requested that her band get credit. Coven then recorded their own version for MGM Records.
Trivia: In 1967, Dawson and Coven invented the 'devil horns' hand sign that pretty much everyone in rock has used since.

I remember when we saw the screening at Warner Bros and when Coven sang we sunk into our seats. Can't beat "The Original Cast" version Dennis did.

The tune is even older its Canon in D. Look I'm not saying he didn't do a nice job on it but is that it... modern music is not creative enough for me.

Wheelie BlindI wouldn't be surprised if Canon in D minor wasn't originally a folk tale before it was even Classical music lol, What Mozart did with "Ah let me tell you moma" which is the same tune as twinkle twinkle little star and so on, we know its from an old French folk tale. I just know I've heard Canon in D minor so many times so many different ways lol it must of been an old folk tale.
