Hi Michelle. Thanks for the THREE ideas!!! I adore mini charm packs and tell ALL of my friends, so I'm easy to shop for!!! I normally make small tote or zipper bags with them, however this lovely Irish Chain design is perfect for Hospice quilt donations. Thanks again.
Thank you for the options. I don’t have mini charm, but I think they are adorable and I’m usually tempted to buy them. I use my 2,5 squares from my stash usually as leader and enter project, mainly to make mini quilts or sewing machine mat, dish mat, sewing machine covers, and of course purses, bags, etc.
Don't start buying them!!!! LOL! I am trying to use mine up! Precuts are harder to starch and they are more expensive for sure! Once all my precuts are gone, I don't intend to buy anymore precuts. The problem is, I have so many I will probably never get them all sewn up!!!!
Thanks for these great ideas for the charm packs Michelle! They’re also great for making small bags or a display on the bottom portion of larger bags with coordinating fabrics💕🧵
I have never bought the mini packets. I love using my June Tailor stripology ruler. Mine is the smaller one. I didnt know there was 2 sizes or would have bought the bigger one. I take my scraps and make and store them but could use up some fat quarters or charm squares and get same result. Love this quilt idea.
@@thesimplequilter7499 yes it can be any quilt. I am thinking I will take my 2.5 squares from all my men’s dress shirts and put together for a baby quilt for the next great grand child due in August.❤️
I have several mini charm packs. I love them to make small zipper bags. They are great for traveling or for makeup kits. Stuff some with candy for kids, or school supplies.
You can make a much larger sized quilt with that much fabric! If you are interested, please share your progress on my Facebook group "The Simple Quilter's Community Showcase". I would really like to see how you progress and how it looks when you are finished!!
I got sucked into the year end sales, but have put my foot down. No more fabric purchases, only stash shopping is allowed. Hope to keep that stance for the next 11 months?!😅
Well done! A laudable goal! I pledged that to myself last year but I was not successful. I’m pledging that to myself again this year. We’ll see how it goes! I have at least six projects-two of them large queens-that have everything I need, including backing. So I could easily be sewing all year long and not buy a thing. So that’s my goal! Good luck to us!
My 2023 goal was using my stash. The only fabric I bought was for a couple of backings. It started out tough but got easier and easier! And I was so pleased with those 2 empty shelves! You can do it!!!
The mini charm packs I have were given to me at quilt retreats where the creators of the fabric line were presenting. So, I do have a variety of them. The 9 patch idea will work well with what I have on hand. Thank you!
Love Option 2 please! ❤ I have mini charm packs. I would like to make small miniature quits and creat a collage for one my quilt room walls! Thank you for the patterns!🐝🐝🐝
I made Milo a ragtime quilt and he loves it!!!!! He burrows under it and tries to pull it over himself!!! If I move it he runs to see what I am doing with it!!! I bet your dog will love the quilt you make for him!!!
I covered over 900 1 inch hexies to make a tablecloth. I have hand stitched them all together...just need to measure table to see what's next. And, I still have more "candies" charm packs😊
No precuts in my stash; I cut my own 2 or 2 1/2 " squares. I use a lot of these, but I'm not a fan of precuts. They are more expensive and I definitely don't love every piece of fabric, so don't want to pay for things I'm not going to use. I am way more inclined to buy a quilt kit if I want a fully pre-co-ordinated quilt. I've discovered I'm a "controlled scrappy" quilter and make about 80% red/cream projects. Like you, I want to use and enjoy the beautiful fabric already in my collection.
I would really like to use up all of my precuts. I do not plan on buying more for the same reasons you have mentioned. Plus I have begun pre-starching and don't want to have to trim each mini-charm or 5" charm square before I use them! They really do cost more!
As the saying goes, If you don't like the fabric then you haven't cut it small enough yet. I have 2 charm packs that I got on sale years ago that I don't like. I've used some of it for other projects. So now I can cut them up (42 x 4 = 168 minis) for this project. Thanks for the ideas.
What software/program did you use to lay out your designs, like a virtual design wall? I’ve been looking for something like that. Thanks for the cute project!
I would love to see one of your bags! You can post a picture on my facebook page “The Simple Quilter”. Post under the Community Showcase group. If you are interested in doing so.

You are so welcome! I think this size is a perfect size for a wheelchair quilt and would be great to donate to a senior who uses a wheelchair.
I have no mini charm packs but I have 2 shoe boxes of scraps cut into 2.5 inch squares so I'm in good shape to make these. Thanks for the ideas.
You are so welcome!

Ive had one mini charm pack for 4 years and never new what to do with it, so thank you very much 👏🏻😁
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you for giving the measurements, amounts of fabric and details.
It's such a great way to use our fabric and a great way to practice our machine quilting!!
Thanks for these great ideas for the charm packs Michelle! They’re also great for making small bags or a display on the bottom portion of larger bags with coordinating fabrics💕🧵
Thanks for sharing!!
I sewed mini charms together and squares and used them in a zipper bag and it turned out so cute. They only have about 40 little mini charms.! Hi
I bet those turned out great!!!
No mini charms but I like these ideas and my stash can certainly handle.
When I cut up scraps I usually cut 2 1/2” squares. I use them as leaders and Enders to make nine patches. Irish chains are always a winner.
Great plan!!!

I’m so glad you like this idea! It is a sweet little quilt!

I have many mini charms packs. I love making quilted baskets, boxy pouches, table runners ets. Especially for last minute gifts
Thanks for sharing!!

All great ideas!!!
I don't have any but I've been cutting up my smaller scraps into that size. I was thinking of using them as corner stones for a scrappy quilt.
That is a good idea! Thanks for sharing!
OMG! I have the perfect fat quarter bundle and a jelly roll to combine for this pattern. I can't wait to sew this!

In 2021 I did the same ni made it until May. Who knew the Memorial Day sales would be so awesome?

Great ideas Michelle! ❤ I only have one mini charm pack. It’s being put into my 2.5” scraps for my scrappy leader/ender project that I just started.
That is awesome!
I have several mini charms and had not decided what to make. Now I know what to do! Thank you.😊
You are so welcome!
That is very cute pattern. The only precuts I've bought are FQs
That is a great practice!!!!

You are most welcome!
The mini 9 patch blocks so cute in a baby quilt and are very adaptable by changing your fabric. Thanks for the reminder!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for the inspiration!

Love Option 2 please! ❤ I have mini charm packs. I would like to make small miniature quits and creat a collage for one my quilt room walls! Thank you for the patterns!🐝🐝🐝
I like the second option also!!! A quilt collage will look great on your wall!! I am anxious to see some of your finished miniature quilts!
I don’t have any mini charm packs in my collection of fabrics. However, I have enough collections to create mini charm packs on my own 🤣🤣
There you go! No need to buy any!
I have a few mini charm packs. I was thinking of making my little dog his own quilt
I made Milo a ragtime quilt and he loves it!!!!! He burrows under it and tries to pull it over himself!!! If I move it he runs to see what I am doing with it!!! I bet your dog will love the quilt you make for him!!!
I have always used them as leader/enders, corner stones, to snow ball corners.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing!!

Oh my!!!! That is an incredible amount of work!!!! I bet it is beautiful!
I have more than a few in my stash. I use them as leaders and enders when my scraps run low.
Good idea!!!! That would be great for a Crossroads quilt!

I use Electric quilt 8. My ink cartridge was low so it didn’t look very nice on paper.
I make mondo bags with mine.
Do you use the mondo bags for something specific or do you give them as gifts?
I use mini charm packs to make small bags.
I would love to see one of your bags! You can post a picture on my facebook page “The Simple Quilter”. Post under the Community Showcase group. If you are interested in doing so.
Mondo bags
I had to look those up! What do you use them for?
❤❤❤
I’m so glad!
Meant to say, I only have about 40 little mini charms.
Lol! That is way more than I have!!!
Thank you!
