    Nice, I thought I was the only one that flew sim flights into my home airport of KPNE!

    Thanks for the great walkthrough! I was curious about your graphic settings? I've got a similar spec system and yours seems to be running much smoother, not to mention the added load of recording.
    Thanks!

    sorry for the silly questions but I am stumped...I put the folder (not zip file) into the community folder as instructed, started MSFS but the only plane I see is the stock CJ4...did I miss a step?
    (downloaded the latest V0.7.1) also slightly unrelated question...in some of the videos here on youtube of the CJ4 when the pilot looks over his left shoulder I can see the outer end of the wing visible, in my sim no matter how far I move to the left inside the cockpit I cant see the wing. (even with using a 34" ultrawide) any thoughts? thanks in advance

    • @windhover2021
      @windhover2021  3 года назад +1

      When you say you only see the stock cj4 do you mean in the main menu? Because the mod runs on the default plane, it just overhauls the avionics and other systems. For the wing visibility, without head tracking or saved views, you have to spin the camera 90 deg to one side then slide the head position forward towards the dashboard using the left/right arrow keys by default. Might be other ways but I’m not aware of them

      @@windhover2021 great thank you so much, makes perfect sense now that you mention it, it mods existing plane not adding another one. also, I totally forgot you can save views...ha!

    Hows the Performance impact on the Game when using the Mod?
    I ran into some performance issues when i started to use a (Engine) Performance Mod for the TBM930 together with the WT G3000 MOd. Need to figure out, if it is the G3000 or the TBM930 Mod. FPS dropped a bit, but its maybe the TBM930 mod, because it dropped after i started the Engine of the plane.

    • @windhover2021

      Can't say I've noticed any performance changes with any of the working title mods. I haven't gone as far as to use afterburner to test fps but the performance hasn't noticeably changed for me.

    The autopilot is still so crazy sometimes.. I know its not the Working Title fault.. But 2/3 times I fly something happens with the autopilot.. Like goes crazy, skips waypoints goes to another waypoint. Will decide to just keep going past selected altitude on its merry way to space.. Pretty sure I have used that emergency detach lever for the autopilot than anyone has IRL... LOL..

    I'm curious what are your joystick sensitivities set too. You always make super smooth landings in your cj but mine oscillates all over the place on approach and when I attempt to flare it usually climbs before settling back down. I hate it because working title have done a great job. I'm using the TCA Airbus Joystick from thrustmaster. Thanks and subscribed

    • @buikhan
      @buikhan 3 года назад

      I have seen real pilot pushing the yoke forward until V1 so he could get more ground control to keep the plane centered. Same thing on landing, once the main gears on the ground put that nose wheel down hard on the tarmac and take control of your directional roll. I have been doing that for years as a pilot myself.

    • @windhover2021
      @windhover2021  3 года назад +3

      Thanks! I have all of my curves in the game settings set to linear. As for landing, I’ve found that you can’t really flare but just stop the plane from descending otherwise it’ll float all the way down a 10,000ft runway. You’ll end up landing pretty flat compared to a 172 for example but as long as you don’t land on the nose wheel it’ll be fine. And then when the mains touch push the nose into the runway and be ready with the rudder in case you come in slightly crabbed and the plane tries to shoot off the runway. I sometimes even trim down when I land to keep the nose from popping up. Also also, the last thing is to stay on speed and stay on the elevator trim. That should help with oscillations.

    • @CCitis
      @CCitis 3 года назад

      @@windhover2021 Exactly this. When flying jets, you usually just "arrest the descent'... meaning don't flare, you kind of fly it onto the runway. Not as greasy as a smaller GS airplane. This is one of my fav airplanes to fly. Curious, what kind of controls are you running? I find linear curves are so sensitive.

    Hi Sir, I have installed the Mod 0.7 any reasons why the Atis does not work?
    I got the frequenty from the fmc and tune the com1

    • @windhover2021
      @windhover2021  3 года назад

      I've noticed that too. Sometimes certain ATIS frequencies just straight up don't work and others work just fine. I'm not sure if that is an Asobo issue or mod issue though. I'm leaning towards Asobo because they have a lot of other database errors right now so this might be just another one.

    So I'm just curious as to why this happens. I installed 7.0. Works very nice. I did an IFR flight from KSAN to KPHX. All was good until i got 80nm from Sky Harbor and all of a sudden the plane started turning to the North and started descending. :-O But wait..... I had the autopilot engaged. It was working fine almost all the way to Phoenix. Then i could not control the plane. Even after i disengaged the autopilot, i could not control the plane very well at all. It kept trying to climb even though i was pushing down on the yoke. I could not get the autopilot to start working again. Anyone know why this happened to me?

    First of all, impressive video. Tks a lot for sharing! But I've been struggling with AP doing random stuff after some point and I just cant get stable at cruise altitude as VS and FLC just don't respond as they do in yours and other videos I've seen on youtube. IAS during climb doesn't gey any better than around 140~150 kts as well..It's been really frustrating. Any comments? Tks once again, captain!

    • @windhover2021
      @windhover2021  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! For climb make sure you have power set at 95-97% N1 and maintain 240 kts until you reach 0.64 mach, then just hold that mach level or higher for the rest of the ascent. If you get too slow in the climb it takes the engines a really long time to accelerate the plane up to cruise speed.
      As for the autopilot doing weird stuff, I've heard other people have similar issues but I never experienced it myself even when trying to break it. Sometimes it is found to be mod conflicts (including liveries) causing the issues but not always. Outside of mod conflicts the only other thing I can think of is double checking key binds. Sometimes random key binds can do dumb stuff. Hope you can get it working!

    I’ve dropped off the scene for a while so do I need to load all the mods or will the latest suffice? Also, is there a way to get rid of the annoying ground services in front of the aircraft when you don’t need them? Great video by the way 👍

    • @windhover2021
      @windhover2021  3 года назад

      Thanks! Just the latest version is all you need. I also don’t know how to disable those pushback crews. It’s cool for airline gates but I surely don’t need them sitting on a ramp in a skyhawk or a citation. I think there’s a setting to turn down airport traffic but I don’t know if that includes the ground services or not.

      I can make a video of how to do one in the CJ4 with the working title mod. As for a tutorial of ILS approaches in general, like reading plates etc, there are plenty of real life videos from people that are actual CFIIs on RUclips.

      Could you clarify what you mean by ‘managed speed’? I’d be happy to explain it in the next video, I just want to make sure what I explain is what you were referring to.

    • @AlexCastanedez1129
      @AlexCastanedez1129 3 года назад

      I am use to Setting the Auto Pilot to a IAS of lets say 120knts. I hit AP, then make sure "auto throttle" is enabled, then I press a button to activate. In the CJ4 there is a FLC button..this clearly doesn't enable managed speed. I just want it to maintain 120knts. This is so easy for me to do on a 737 and A32x .. (I am not saying this is a bug.. just saying that I don't have enough documentation/tutorial on this aircraft. Another case of the missing manual")

    • @windhover2021
      @windhover2021  3 года назад

      Alex Castanedez Ah ok, gotcha. The CJ4 doesn’t have an auto throttle so in order to maintain a certain speed you have to move the throttles manually for all phases of flight. I’ll be sure to mention it in the next video.

    • @AlexCastanedez1129

      @@windhover2021 Can you explain the speed knob then? Please and thank you.

    • @windhover2021
      @windhover2021  3 года назад

      Alex Castanedez Yup. The only thing it controls is the the speed the plane will pitch for in FLC mode. It doesn’t control the throttle in any way. When I’m not currently changing altitude in FLC I still like to use the marker/bug it adds to the speed tape on the PFD to make my target speed easier to see, but it isn’t controlling anything at that point, it’s just a visual cue.
