when paulo started out, he was playing it straight, but then he got a bit saucy at one point in a few videos and then worried he might tick me off, but i told him no, i think it's hilarious! :)
Knowing Paulo and watching the subtitles on this one is a whole experience on its own :)

Wow! What a great little gem of a game. This one is going to be an instant modern classic. Especially because of the modules and difficulty settings.. with variable airports and conditions. Lots of repeatability.
Agreed -- I absolutely love this game! So after we shot this video, I had to play the tutorial again just to get my confidence back LOL. Now I'm ready to tackle those toughter scenarios (I hope). :) Thanks for watching!

I like that they are using the phrase balls to the wall at the start of Round 3, as it was a phrase created by fighter pilots.
As the story goes, fighter jets in the Vietnam War had two throttle controls, one for each jet engine. Each had a “ball” on top. When they wanted to go full speed, they would push the throttle until they were up against the firewall. Hence the phrase “balls to the wall”.
Paolo's klingon subtitles are so damn funny, i laughed out loud so many times. Thanks Paolo!

One thing I didn't see corrected in the Klingon CC is the wind module gets rotated *as soon as* both players place their dice on the axis spots. This is important since you can adjust your speed before moving. For example in the situation at 6:38, both players can put 2 into engine if the axis stays at its current bank (by using coffee on the 5 instead of 2 for the engines) and move the wind to +1.
Also you only need the correct axis when you're moving. After moving, you can change the axis to whatever you want and it won't crash the plane until you're moving the next time. So even if the next spot shows x's on the spot that you're on, it won't matter until you move. Since you had to stay put for a couple of turns, you can spend those turns at -2 bank on Pilot side to get the most favorable wind for landing.
I really like this video format! It's cool to hear two players discussing their strategy openly to the audience without giving anything away to each other.

The game looks great and I really enjoyed hearing both of your thoughts as you took turns. It’d be cool if they made a sci fi version and you did this between planetary missions or something like an ISS Vanguard type game.
Looks like a fantastic game, I already ordered my copy. Don’t know why you confused the banking rule, to me it makes perfect sense that you turn into the higher number. Anyway, an entertaining gameplay of you two!
basically it's a pretty common way to represent starboard & port "speed" or "pwoer" in games, both boardgames (like a dog sledding one that i can't think of at the moment) and videogames (like some of the podracing games from 20 years ago). maybe it's just a problem for olds like us :)
Yes, the banking doesn’t seem complicated because it’s not tied to engine dice. If it were then it would be more like Snow Tails. But I think of it like how hard you are cranking on the yoke to that side. The person who pulls harder will overpower the weaker pilot.
@@rahdo At 11:05 you ask, "Why [would you] move towards the lower velocity?" Two things: 1) You bank towards the higher number, not the lower. 2) It's not velocity. Banking is performed with control surfaces regardless of velocity. You're thinking of yaw, but banking is roll.
This is more fun to watch others play than to play it myself

This game is climbing on the ladder of interest.
Boy, following what was actually correct in their play was a mess. Maybe a couple more plays before recording next time. Repeating extensively the reason for tracking tilt opposite of what the game says doesn't help their memory of the correct way.
Looks like a great game, but that was hilariously painful to watch.
Why the plane turn 3 steps? Isn't that dependant on banking angle (1 or 2?) Explaining the banking twice (or thrice) and doing it wrong was golden:D
yup, the bank determines how far you rotate. sounds like i made a mistake there. do you remember what timestamp it was at?

@@rahdo I was loving how Paulo was flipping out in the Klingon channel over the banking meters. I don't know if this is different than what you guys were saying, but it's not "power" that the die is representing, I think, such that the higher number would push that side and thus push you in the opposite direction, but rather an abstraction of banking value, so more left tilt vs right tilt and whichever way a plane tilts, or banks, it turns.

Did you just decreased fuel that much for 6. No no no. Mistake. You counted slots, you should have counted the numbers on the left
Please turn on the Klingon subtitles like it was asked at start of the first video... it was already noted there along some other goofs that you didn't seem to catch since you didn't comment on those :) cheers
