Idk I used to believe how Oliver Stone portrayed Alexander & then when you actually dig into the real history you find out that was all artistic liberty he took making Alexander look like a Twink. Socrates clearly was against homosexuality if you read his writings. Sure late stage empire descended into hedonism just like what the west is experiencing today but I do believe there is a gay agenda to generalize the Greeks as homosexual as possible when it may have been much less prevalent than even today . So Eddie is on the right track being skeptical.

The problem with Joe Rogan is, he wants to believe everything that seems logical. He gets mad at Eddie when Eddie doesn't believe anything. This is Rogans weakness. If you tell any single human of your choice, a story. Any story. By the time the person tells that same story to a 3rd person, it will change in some way. The story will ALWAYS change. We can't get a story to get through 3people without it the story becoming untrue in some way. But Rogan wants to think humans are logical? Eddie is correct. You'll never see history as truth no matter how it's retold. Even when videos record it. Context is changed with a single syllable.
That’s why he is a good interviewer.

@@jasonmacon-jones5860 I think hes a decent interviewer but he's not open minded as much as he claims he is. If he was, he would allow or entertain Eddie's ideas more often. Eddie isn't pushing anything. Eddie is just questioning everything. Joe blocks that. He squashes the questioning of tropics ,he feels, are already written in complete truth. Eddie is a guest alot of people want to hear and Joe puts the kabosh on alot of EDDIES potential.
it's because EDDIE naturally attracts attention to himself compared to Joe Rogan and Joe don't like it. Eddie is younger, cooler, more interesting and most importantly still has a full set of hair, so this must make Joe jealous that a younger guy like eddie grabs peoples attention, but joe doesn't want to show that he jealous of Eddie's way of attracting attention.

Here in the UK around 2002 there was a really good documentary split into three 1 hour episodes on the Spartan way of life by renowned historian Bethany Hughes. I don't think she has an agenda. This documentary covered lots of aspects of the way Spartan's lived, which included it's soldiers taking a boy apprentice and having sexual relations with them and it also went into Sparta's need for slaves, since it was a military state. When I watched Zach Synder's 300 movie in 2006/7 based on Frank Miller's 1998 comic, I thought great movie, but it's far from accurate with Leonidas is calling the Athenians "Boy lovers" and preaching about freedom, but it'd rightly bomb at the box with the target audience if they'd made it factually accurate. I'd take Bethany Hughes' credentials of Frank Miller's and Zach Synder's. I guess you can cherry pick history, don't get me started on the historical inaccuracies of Braveheart, great movie though.

Thats what i wondered in the movie 300 , when spartan called Athenians and Persians as boy lovers lmao . When in reality there was an age limit in Athens . And in thiebes and Macedonia relationship was more accepted between adult which was above 14 and the older one should be around early 20s or late teens . Also the older one should shower the younger one with love , admiration and protection .
While in sparta the boys were less than 12 and were treated like slaves till theit manhood and if the boys were able to make into military they were left to die.

Thiebes and Macedonia had the healthiest form of homosexuality cause even in athens the man could be around 30 and young one can be as low as 12 . Which was the minimum limit.
In Macedonia the relationship was among young men which sounds very meaningful .
In outside greece like in persia they actually respected boys and were more okay were young men and eunuchs .
Homosexuality was common not just in ancient greece but in every Ancient civilization before abhrahmic religion.

I don’t get why this topic about Spartan sexuality is talked like common gossip ! My first thought when Spartans are brought up is thank God they stopped this world from being %100 Persian and what are they going to say about the greatest general that ever lived …. It’s like saying that about some military today ! It’s not that relevant.. look at what any civilization gave to the world should be foremost ! It makes for gossip or a story when their bravery and heart is of unmatched legacy !
