We always include a grocery store walk-through whenever we’re visiting a different location! Thank you for your vlogmas!
Its a pleasure to come and have a chat! It's nice to know that I am not the only one who loves visiting grocery stores!
I find myself tapping my toes as I listen to some of your music choices:) while I knit
Its amazing how many options there are on the site that I get my music from. But there are some wacka doo Christmas mixes 🤣🥸
Love your self made advent and your crochet blanket! Thank you for sharing them both with us!
It's a pleasure to come and have a chat! Thanks for visiting with me.
I also love seeing and visiting grocery stores in different countries. The variety and makes of food can vary so much. The peanut butter cookies look delicious. It could have been the pineapple juice as it is quite different from orange juice in its makeup. It doesn't set in a jelly. 🇬🇧
Ahhh!!! That might be it Elaine 🤔 The recipe called for orange juice and I didn't have any so I thought the pineapple would work. They still taste delicious...they just spread more than expected 🤓
Nancy, perhaps the word 'browsing' fits the description of walking grocery store aisles.
I not only love seeing stores (grocery and others) from other countries, and also other parts of my own country. I am finding (after watching all kinds of videos from all over) that malls are malls are malls no matter where they are located!
I'd much rather go to the grocery store than the mall 🤣 You're right...they are all the same
I'm way behind in my vlogmas watching this month but I had to stop and watch yours this morning. Love your crochet blanket.
Thanks so much June 💕 That's lovely of you to say 🤓
Lots of fun and inspiring me to keep on with baking and preparations.
Thanks Anne❣️ It's inspired me to keep going as well. Sunday will see a couple more things made and stored 🤞
Love seeing what you’re up to during the holiday and it’s my time to knit while watching.. Boy can I relate in terms of each morning I loosely figure out what I want and need to do but often my wants are more than I have the stamina for and if I sit down before completing everything, that’s it. But that’s ok because usually I’m the only one putting pressure on myself to get everything done. Hope the weren’t too bad.
Haha...nice to know I'm not alone. Sit down and lose all willpower to do anything else but knit 😀🧶
Morning nancy,,,
Loving UR vlogs,,perfect,,
Elaine 🏘🎄
Not much snow left here either,,,,
That's so kind of you to say Elaine 🥰
Good morning Nancy. Thanks for the vlogmas shares. It’s nice seeing your province, your outings (mmm shawarma garlic sauce!!), shopping, and Christmas prep. Those pb cookies look great and we will likely make a version of those this weekend.
Lunch was very yummy but very garlicky 🧄🧄 I'm hoping out of sight out of mind in the freezer means they'll make it until next week 🤞
Thanks for hanging out and saying hello ❣️
@@knitsiphappy It’s said that garlic is good for us. Your lunch has inspired me to get some shawarma for lunch today. :)
Fingers crossed that the frozen treats stay frozen so that you can share them with your guests. I’m going to start baking this weekend and we are getting our 🌲 too. :)
Merry Christmas Nancy to you and your family.
Hi Nancy, lovely vlogmas. Thank you for sharing. Hugs ❤❤❤
That's so nice of you to say Linda 🥰
I loved going along with you on your errands, and, yes, it is fun to see the difference in your grocery store as well as the products you have to bake with. Have you watched For the Fun of Knit Vlogmas? She has taken us along in in her stores in Spain. I'm always amazed by how quickly you get into country when driving in Canada--beautiful! What sweater were you wearing? Those peanut butter cookies look fairly labor intensive! I finished my last baking yesterday, but tomorrow I am making 2 appetizers as well as cleaning--and hopefully a little knitting!! I think I may have to join you in more wine drinking!! Enjoy your cozy knitting--it's hard to resist!!
I haven't been watching many vlogmasses with work and doing my own 🤓 January...I will be catching up with all of the ones I haven't have time for ❣️ Well done on finishing your baking 👏👏
Love watching your blogs/vlogmas. Just a quick note about your cookies. When I learned to bake, recipes were a guide.. Measuring cup in the flour bin was a tea cup no longer used on the table for whatever reason. Flour takes on air moisture so don't be afraid to add a bit more or less. Recipes passed around in my childhood were generally not assigned a precise measurement of flour. They were written as 3 1/2 c to 4 c flour or "amount needed until dough feels right." Hence, my Mom's sister with patience like a saint baked cookies light as clouds that just melted in your mouth. Mom with a "got to do it, let's get it over with" attitude would dump in the top amount of flour and perhaps a bit more if the dough was sticky to handle rather than just dust the dough with flour when handling. Result could have been used for hockey pucks. Yeast dough recipes still often take the same attitude of adding final amount of flour in smaller increments. Happy baking, happy knitting.
Thanks Agnes!! So true that a lot of my handwritten recipes use less precise measurements and require a little more intuition. I have started to use my scales more, but for some reason I used the cup measurements on that recipe. I am doing more baking tomorrow...so we will see how I make out!
Hi Nancy, I do exactly the same as you when I'm in a foreign country - go to the supermarket! Love finding things I always see online but isnt available at home. Had to laugh when your husband gave you the side-eye. My husband says he is deaf in one ear (usually the one on the side I'm at) and doesn't hear what I say BUT asa I mumble something about him under my breath he hears that!
Haha...sounds about right!!! The breed is the same wherever they are 🤣
Another great one! Thank you💜🍷🧶
Thanks 🥰
Thanks for continuing your vlogmas- I am loving it!
That's so nice to hear and for you to say❣️ Hopefully see you in real life on Tuesday night 🤞
I have not done any holiday cookie baking yet; it seems that my boys eat them all in one day--2 teens plus husband, but mainly husband. I think it's his English nature of needing a "biscuit" with every beverage (biscuit also includes any "cakes" and chocolate). Thanks for the freezer idea--they are not likely to look there!
My Mum used to put thing in the freezer in reused boxes that we wouldn't look in and then the week of Christmas she would pull out this boxes...voila baked goods that we hadn't raided 🤣🤣
It fun to come along
Thanks Noreen 🥰
Nancy, is there a word for walking the aisles of grocery stores (and enjoying it)? My spouse and I enjoy walking the aisles of grocery stores in other countries, in stores in our own province, and stores in other provinces. I'm glad you mentioned why you used Pineapple juice in the PB Cookie mix! Thanks for sharing your days.
Definitely browsing ❣️ Why do we find it so interesting 🤔
Thanks for taking us along Nancy! Can I give you my list 😘
Ugh...definitely not! Taking Brad along always costs more as well 🤓
LOVE your vlogmases: the content is so lovely!
Thank you Klaske 🥰
Peanut butter blossoms!
They were a little flatter than I expected, but they're delicious 😋
Oooooo im up for a DK test knit love!😊❤
I've stalled after deciding that with a busy work schedule and vlogmas, I don't have the brain space for this right now 🤓🙃 I'll come back to it 🧦
Good Morning Nancy…..like you I always enjoy looking in grocery stores when we travel! What is the sweater you are wearing at the start of the video? It looks very warm and cozy. Thanks for taking the time to do vlogmas- I can only imagine how busy work must be for you these days.
Thanks Beverley 💕 It is Phoenix by Libby Jonson and it's Aran weight. I just wear it as an outer garment. It's too warm for me inside 🥵
Thank you so much for sharing. I do enjoy how others, and towns, do their traditions. (Oh, by the way, i do enjoy watching others work. Its reassuring that i am NOT the only one that does something LOL)
Question, your advent socks, when using one of your designs, do you instantly recall, or do you have look it up to refresh the memory?
I don't design, but gave a few favorites, and it always amazes me, regardless how many times I've knitted them, from time to time, i need to refresh the memory.
Thanks for spending some time with me 💕 I usually have to go to my copy of the pattern as a refresher and then I don't need it anymore because I know my heel and toe preferences 🧦
Loved watching you bake your cookies, they looked yummy 😋
Love all your advent knitting, what is the name of your stripy socks? They look a really nice pattern, I know you mention it every time but I keep it. See you next time loving your vlogmas ❤
They are yummy! And I have hidden them in the freezer, so hopefully we will have some for Christmas...LOL! The sock are Smoke Gets In Your Eyes. I keep meaning to link the pattern in the show notes...maybe I will manage this time. I showed them when I recorded a snippet this morning.
Thanks for saying hello and encouraging me!!
Sounds like Brad is a backseat baker! I don't bake and Hubs walked into the room while you were. Of course I got the gears of "why don't you bake!" 😅 Oh! And where is the Advent that you won on IG? Did it arrive? I'm curious which one you won🤔
Haha...Brad is actually a trained cook and baker, but doesn't often bake. He likes it when I do.
The advent that I won is the Freckled Whimsy sock advent that I'm knitting 🧦
Oh sorry, Nancy. Poor joke on my part about baking
No..no...i was laughing because he is a back seat baker, because he's professional 🤣
Pineapple juice in peanut butter cookies- do tell? 😱🤭🤗
Well...I didn't have the orange juice that the recipe called for, but I did have pineapple juice 🤓
@@knitsiphappy I have never heard of juice in peanut butter cookies, but I might give it a try. Sounds interesting!
