Hella proud of you for going with Gotlin as your first spin. I did a Wensleydale fleece off the sheep for my first spin. Hella learned a lot you’re bad ass girl. And Kromski has great niddy noddys
I'm loving watching everyone's Flock videos. Seems like such a well-organized event. It's inspiring me to go but also I don't knit that much so I don't need much yarn at once. Do you feel like there were other things to do at Flock besides shop? I know there were talks and classes but haven't heard as much about those parts as the shopping. Welcome to Portland! I live here too and love it. I'll definitely be attending the Portland Yarn Crawl in March. I've been to Close Knit, Fiber Rhythm, and Ritual Dyes but would love to see our other yarn shops in town.
There is definitely other things to be besides shopping! They offer classes/workshops on different topics, they have panels about every hour to speak on different topics, and there’s a bunch of place to just sit, knit, and mingle with a bunch of people. They also have vendors that sell other things than yarn: like notions, project bags, wool washes, soaps, hand thrown ceramics, t-shirts, etc. The marketplace is a great way to expose yourself to different makers and yarns. I find that people don’t actually tend to walk away with a lot of yarn but a couple new them yarns or colors 😊 I also want to explore more yarn stores in Portland and I’m really excited for the rose city yarn crawl in march because I think I it’ll be a fun way to do that! Right now starlight knitting society has been my home base since it’s the closest to me, but I have also been to ritual dyes!
Love the Label, which I've seen in the tour that, Nidie Nadie!! Oh, the is another name on it beingsomething, Bad as in Pirate 🦜😅 I have to hear hiw it knits up but hooe to get some on line just for the Label Art, Collection!! LOL Rrr! Thank you, for your amazing joy in the arts of spinning!! Wish you the Best in your Channel, Good Luck 🍀🤞🎉❤
Hey, about getting the one stitch extra and going down and needle size. I highly suggest getting the stitch gauge and then you can add an extra row for the row then you’ll get the right size cardigan.
New subscriber here! Loved the video and I am a relatively new spinner as well and the Yarn Jam shaniko is my favorite base I have spun. I did a fractal spin using her East Coastal colorway as one of the yarns in my Framed Sweater to wear at Rhinebeck this year. Will you be going?
Hello, thank you for subscribing! I honestly can’t wait to spin it, I just KNOW it’s going to be lovely! Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it to Rhinebeck this year since my husband and I just did a big cross country move, but I’m hoping to go again next year 😊
I'm enjoying all the Flock recaps, I went to college in Seattle so it's nice to see glimpses of my youth.
I’m glad you’re enjoying them! Seattle is an amazing city! We loved visiting 😊
Love your Traveler Cowl! 🧶
Thank you so much! I love it 😊
Glad you enjoyed Flock! Thanks for the recap and those earrings are so cute. Btw, "casted" is not a word. One "casts on" and "binds off".
Thank you for letting me know! I think my brain was thinking past tense.

In Hind sight that’s what I would have done but unfortunately I’m too far into the project at this point lol I don’t mind it being a bit oversized
