Love all your videos Ed and Patricia. They are very professionally done and very interesting to watch. I have watched everyone now and I'll await new ones, soon I hope. I don't speak Portuguese but I could listen to Patricia talk all day long. You are both very good at youtube.
Thanks for the video. Its very nice to watch calm people in the morning when the city is under snow :) Lagoon 46 is my fovourite of a short list. Actually I just sold my 60 feet italian motoryacht and i have no experience about sailing boats. I try to learn theorically and very often watch youtube channels for now.
I did exactly the same thing. I owned motor yachts in the past and when I decided to go the sailing route I watched so many sailing channels. It did help me a lot, as a found a couple that excepted me as paying crew so I went to their lagoon 440 to learn directly from them. It was great and I learned a lot ! Ps. Patricia was saying here while I read your message. Wow where is he located that is snowing ? LOL. She loves the snow ❄️and just learned how to snowboard ! All the best and congratulations in selling your MY, wish you all the best in your new boat selection and if you need anything from me in the process don’t hesitate to reach out. Best Ed
@@SailingJoy Hello Eduardo and Patricia. I hope all is good for you right now, Thank you very much for your kind response. It really warmed me up. I hope we meet one day in a vast ocean. I would like you to make a video about your plans. I mean, where will you be in the next 10 years, it would be great if you made a movie on Google Earth. I look forward to seeing such an upload from you... I already drew a detailed route on google earth, where to stay and visit..many points. Thats a very funny way to pass the time and dreaming. My Wife Katya, my son Anatoly (2 years) and I will be on the sea march of 2023, After a few months we will start from mediterranean. I'm sure it is not new for you, many people want to live on the sea after these years in a pandemic. Just wondered, why did you not pass the winter season in the Caribbean sea? Anyway, have a great journey. keep us updated please.
@@niko-zs6vv that’s a great idea. Let me think of something interesting here to create such a video. In terms of the winter we decided to spend the winter here because we wanted to explore by land Spain and surrounding and be here very early for next season so we could continue on towards our next destinations in 2022. Don’t know if you have seen this video but I briefly describe our journey in 2022. I will leave you a link below just in case you have not seen it yet and would like to check it out.
I've had wind vibration issues with roof top rack systems. I rapped the bar that was vibrating in rope, not tight but spaces like a candy cane stripe. The rap is just enough to disrupt the wind flow and stop the vibration. I'm sure you've already for a permanent fix, but thought this might help. Thanks for the videos
Thanks Henry ! Your wait is about to finish. I bet you are super excited about your new Catamaran. We are very happy for you and Anna and we know you guys will have a blast.
With the exception of the initial investment cost that a person must make, new or used, it is determined by purchasing power, so I consider that it is worth buying a new boat if you plan to keep it for several years. Time pays off the investment, the maintenance costs and practically you have a boat adapted to your personal needs and demands. but if you plan to have it for a short time or it's the bridge to something bigger and newer, I'd advise a used but properly maintained unit
wow interesting temp solution to that roaring noise.. so maybe a small rope with small flags or tabs on it to break the wind hitting the genoa line? just think it might be hitting the line to fast and creating the roaring that would slow it down and break up the wind but look odd too lol :)
I will absolutely try it. It could work as well. I used the fender because it thought the rubber could serve as a damper for the sound as well. Let’s see how it goes. Best Ed
Great video!!! Have you read the recommend installation instructions for your AIS hub and auto pilot. I thought I read somewhere that it's not recommend for them to be withing a certain proximity to one another.
Yes you are correct. They are installed following that instruction. B&G technician came on board and said that the VHF AIS had an internal faulty part. It will be exchanged at the end of January as we are waiting for the part to arrive. 🙌🙌😊
For me personally, buying a new catamaran (or boat) is more akin to buying a new large RV. And considering how much money they cost, it's extremely disappointing when due to substandard craftsmanship, issues develop so early in the ownership. We should be demanding higher build quality from boat manufacturers, and stop making excuses that these are complex, and mostly hand-built boats. But hasn't "Hand-Built" in the past meant, better quality? Now boat manufacturers use it as an excuse to explain their sub-standard quality control.
In my opinion and after owning Complex RVs in the past a new boat does provide more of a headache in the first year than a RV. It is funny that you made me think about the fact of been Hand Build should definitely be the meaning of higher quality and not an excuse for not done well. Better quality control would go a long way here and would solve some of the issues for sure. Don’t get me wrong, we are very satisfied with our lagoon46 but the expectation was also very high 😊
Gosto muito dos seus vídeos. Imagens, edição e principalmente o compartilhamento das experiências.😉 Problemas sempre aparecerão. Pelo menos nenhum q tivesse comprometido gravemente a tripulação ou a embarcação.😒 PS: pensei q vcs fariam um tempo neste inverno. Bom saber q a saga continua 😁
In you video it appears that the thru hulls were just installed straight through the core. Correct installation requires the core to be stripped away and solid fiberglass put in place for a distance around the thru hull so that the thru hull does not touch the core. If this is so, then the points where the thru hulls pass through should be closely watched. A leak can cause water ingress into the core and delamination. There was a famous case a few years ago of a boat built in South Africa where the hull delaminated because of this.
Hi Kirk ! The Camera we used was IRIS 035 made by Iris innovation, it was purchased in France when we were in Les Sables d Olonnes. They have offices in Ft lauderdale USA in case you are in the US. I hope it helps. Best Ed.
I get my boat hopefully on july 19. France is closed in August - am I kidding myself if I can get the boat seaworthy in 11 days? Leave for the Canary Islans on 8/1 - and then do the ARC in November. I hear getting service away from the factory is hard. But as I am in no hurry once in the Caribbean, i can wait for service. I fear the broker is too diplomatic for me to understand. It does not appear that any of your issues other than the AIS are show stoppers. right?
Hi Kirk ! Congrats on the boat ! You will love it. I believe 11 days would be enough if you plan in advance with your supplier. I have done in 5 days on the l42 and in 14 days on the L46 because I had much more work done. None of the issues I had are show stoppers ! I feel very confident you will be able to dominion 11 days. What are you planning to have it done after delivery ? Robin marine is professional and fast if you plan in advance but have no flexibility to do anything extra last minute.

prices always go up and equipment on board always seems to go down in quality . A new boat produced by a large yard should be like buying a BMW or VW.
One would think so but reality can be a little far from that expectation.
