The LAC stands for Line of Actual Control (LAC). It is the border demarcation line that separates the territories controlled by India & China.
The area between the demarcated lines has become grey area and is defined as the Area of Differing Perception (ADPA).
The grey zones refer to areas where the forces from both India and China patrol and come face to face. Currently, the Army and ITBP jointly patrol the grey zones.
China and India have signed four agreements on this boundary issue. These agreements were signed in September 1993, November 1996, April 2005, and October 2013.
