I was around 13, but when Brawl came out, I didn't really understand the differences between it and Melee in terms of physics and stuff. So at the time, I didn't get why I was really good with Falcon in Melee, yet not at all in Brawl.
I want to see a straight up sandbox style open world F Zero game with quest lines and racing and free roam in the city outside of the vehicles. Kinda like GTA meets breath of the wild.
After seeing what Captain Falcon can do in the recent patch for Ultimate, patch 8.0.0 as of now, I'm hoping to see this channel cover Falcon's competitive evolution for Smash Ultimate in an updated video later on.

Wait so no other fighting franchises have several older games with remaining scenes? I always figured people were probably still playing Street Fighter 2 and I've heard 3rd Strike has fans. For FPS I know Quake 1 and 3/Live continue to have tournaments.
Brawl & Sm4sh still get played to this day, but aren't nearly as popular as 64, Melee, and currently Ultimate. Right now I think even mods like PM & Brawl Minus get played more often than Brawl & Sm4sh.
@@curiosityman3704 The fact Project+ (which is what PM is called now) had a decent following and outlived certain official games says a lot about how great it is. The community is shrinking, sad as this is likely the closest we will get to a Melee sequel. Haven't even seen another unofficial Melee like get far in development.

@@ShinyKelp To be honest, I think people are underrating Kirby just because of how few people play Kirby (competitively). I've seen some Kirbys in Elite Smash put in some real good work. Him being below Little Mac is a bold statement -- I just think he's low tier, not the worst in the game.
@@ShinyKelp He is average in brawl, because of having now 4 grabs and a side special, which also is a greak kill move due to being great against air-dodges (Dodging only make you recieving, instead of a big blow, a big blow with semi-spike included). Sadly, that Side-B was heavily nerfed in Smash 4, so unsurprinsingly it became a low tier; and wasn't really buffed in ultimate, so it's still low tier. Its low range (except in 64), mediocre at best air game (except in 64 and brawl), being unable to deal with proyectiles (which doesn't matter in 64), low weight and lack of reliable kill moves (except brawl and 64), makes it a mediocre character; and as Kirby main, it hurts to recognize that truth.
Why Captain Falcon is a Fan-Favourite? I guess that is because of being the "Show man" of Smash. His exaggerate movements for a 'normal man', his amazing and mocking taunts, his many screams when he is doing a big move, the fast and powerful yet punishable attacks he does; everything is made for making Falcon's match a great spectacle, something most players love to see and make.
It’s sort of the same reason people play heavies: you can *feel* the hits instead of Fox, puff, meta knight, and the quick-hitters. But instead of single giant hits, it’s a combo string of heavy hits. That’s why Falcon is so hype, and why Brawl falcon took away the goodness. Hype strings, hype single hits, hype reads, and hype taunts.
@@VVheeli That would explain why Leon and his Bowser is so popular actually, and the same thing with King DDD and Roy (the human, not the Koopaling); because the heavyweight nature of their hits (I Know Roy is only middleweight, but it has a lot of raw damage), yet still solid enough for tournaments (unlike K.K. Rool, Ridley, Incineroar or Donkey Kong, or Ganondorf outside of locals). I personally don't care for the range and I prefer characters with okay raw damage, good frame data, and bit floaty with decent air speed for abusing air moves, like Mr. Game and Watch, Yoshi, Ness and R.O.B. My brother for the other side doesn't care that much about frame data, but mostly about good raw damage, disjointed hitboxes and good range, mostly with characters like Link, Ike or Chrom.
Honestly when I first saw this I found it strange that they didn't cover ultimate, but considering how much the opinions and meta around Falcon changed since then, I think it was a smart call.

The way people use "boomer" nowadays is just evidence of people not understanding the actual context of terms and expressions. People are gonna look back in 10-15 years, when most baby boomers will be dead or reclusive, and realize how dated it was to say it...and then "Xer" will become the new shorthand for any old or jaded person.

There haven't been enough high-level tournaments to accurately rate characters yet. Especially since Nintendo keeps muddying the waters by introducing new characters every few months
Looking back makes me realize how silly Smash 4 times were, especially the patches. Falcon being nerfed while at least 18 better characters existed was way too unnecessary.
@@largenaq2935 Nope, he never had good airspeed. It's the AERIAL speed that he had. (F3-Nair, F4-Dair, F6-Bair, F-8 Fair, F-10 Up-air) Faster aerials (and specials) > Faster airspeed.
Dude I was so frustrated and sad about how they treated Falcon in brawl, he's my ride or die main since 64 but it was so bad I ended up dropping him for other characters. I damn near cried when I played him again in smash 4, and i'm enjoying him even more in ultimate.

Melee Falcon beeing hype is probably an understatement. The Proof? Every clip that was shown had commentary that can easily be quoted word for word by almost anybody btw i'm really hoping for DK on the next video
History of Bowser in Smash next? You'd be surprised on how players can actually win using him, he's almost a symbol of the underdogs trash-talked characters fight to become higher tier characters. Goes well with his personality.
Why is it that when I search Captain Falcon I dont ever find anything that is about F Zero? Captain Falcon as a character has to have been the least representing character of their own IP in existence.
I dunno about that, X introduced a whopping 20+ characters and GX expanded on that plus giving them all pilot info and specific theme tunes, and the anime was basically an exploration of the characters. F-Zero is just criminally underappreciated and Smash is incredibly popular
Kinda fun, that Brawls Falcon was still one of the most used Characters online or with friends. Because he´s still fun. I think I played more against other Ganondorfs or Falcons that the rest combined.

Yeah idk why they made him have such a bad initial dash and that super extended turnaround animation that makes him so slow to do basic stuff. He feels like he has the tools in Ultimate to be a respectable character if they just let him have his classic great mobility back.
How I would change Falcon: Forward aerial is Smash 64 neutral aerial. Falcon Kick is Side B. Raptor Boost and Falcon Dive are removed. Up Special is a quick boost into a Knee. Down Special has him take out his gun, and he can aim it. Integrate a boost mechanic as in the F-Zero games. At least this way he would kinda be true to his games.

Excalibur ZX meta is still developing especially with patches still rolling out. They didnt cover gen 7 of pokemon for a while due to similar reasons

i picks up Falcon in ultimate he’s easily one of the characters i have the most fun with because he can pop off really well

@@brlvper4 Highly debatable. I haven't even heard of Falcon's own mains express he's high tier except for Fatality right after his first set of buffs, and he changed his mind not long afterwards.

Yeah idk why they made him have such a bad initial dash and that super extended turnaround animation that makes him so slow to do basic stuff. He feels like he has the tools in Ultimate to be a respectable character if they just let him have his classic great mobility back.

How I would change Falcon:
Forward aerial is Smash 64 neutral aerial.
Falcon Kick is Side B.
Raptor Boost and Falcon Dive are removed.
Up Special is a quick boost into a Knee.
Down Special has him take out his gun, and he can aim it.
Integrate a boost mechanic as in the F-Zero games.
At least this way he would kinda be true to his games.
