He started buying his own food and learned to cook at 16 (mostly because he got so picky about what he wanted to eat). He got his first checking account at 16 and learned to balance his checkbook. When he went to college at 18 and started having roommates, he came back to me and thanked me for doing this, because most of his friends (and even his wife later on) didn't have any of these skills. It is VERY important to give our children increasing responsibilities for them to grow into functional adults.
Why do people seem to think all teenagers are bad kids these days ??? My daughter has always been sweet caring and hard working , so have all her friends. I have only come across a handful of “bad” kids, that’s usually because they have too strict parents who put too much pressure on them. Or they have grow up with loss and betrayal in their life😢 Sadly for some kids, bad attention feel better than no attention at all😢
I love y'all. This video will be a TREASURE for Selah when she's grown. I also had the blessing of an amazing Dad. I'm 61 and I'd give anything to have a record of that! Y'all make me happy.
In my family, unfortunately the art of gardening died with my grandma. Neither of my parents picked it up so neither did I or my brothers. Selah is very fortunate to have such a wonderful education and she is doing a fantastic job!
Selah does a great job with the planting cauliflower and everything, so nice that she helps the way she does, shes a pretty young lady that is learning great values in life.

To get nicer cauliflower heads clip the leaves over the top of the head as it forms keeps them tighter and whiter..tiny bulletin board clips or even hair clips work well
I love that your 13 year old is so involved! My 14 year old has no interest in the garden. She didn’t grow up with it. I’m hoping my 6 & 2 year olds will grow up with more investment in the garden.
Selah is my such a sweet young lady. Teaching a child to grow, raise, forage, fish and hunt is a priceless gift. Those cauliflower leaves are delish sauteed with garlic and onions. If you tie the leaves over the heads when they start to form, they will stay white.

Well, now we all know about your contributions behind the scenes Selah! You rocked that blue dress! I would loooove to see your hair in a semi-formal updo sometime bc those curls are so pretty. I grow microgreens and its not always easy keeping the humidity right, keeping everything sterile, and avoiding mold. Kudos to you young lady!
