If it's necessary for me to assess the hair damage. I can't find inconsistencies in the hair if your hair is curling, bunching, shrinking, flowing inconsistently. There are times where I misread hair health and condition on hair in its natural state
I haven't moisturized my hair in so long. Heck, I haven't detangled it fully in a couple of months. I feel like ima have to probably cut it at some point
It’s probably because if you take showers the bottoms get moisturized from the splash and if you tie it up in a bun at the top the outsides block the steam and water from splashing on it. Just a theory
@@TheMrskitty31 I think we manipulate our hair more in the front and top because that's what everyone sees. Those areas receive more stress and brushing as well

Just be patient with yourself as you learn and get better. 😊
6:10 @AfrikanhairGod Re-moisturizing: after misting the hair, would you also recommend using a light leave-in conditioner or curl cream to slow down the evaporation process or is using just water ok? I love applying your advice to my own regime as I am not near your salon.
I bet he has that breakage in the top because of pulling his hair back. Especially if he doesnt moisturize. The breakage likely hits right where his ponytail holder lands. Too much tension and friction on dry brittle strands. Especially if he sleeps in the ponytail. I'm excited to see his progress.
Hi Narada! I have a question. What are your thoughts on not using combs on the hair? I have been doing this for 2 weeks. I am trying to keep what hair I have. Thank you ✨️ in advance.
He doesn't recommend not using a tool of some kind to detangle your hair. The Denman D38 paddlebrush is a good one to use; there are several in-depth vids on his channel of the proper technique to detangle various types of afro hair.
Yess I'm looking to cut my hair soon because of this. I colored my hair last year and notice a major difference in my strands although the color is almost grown out but I just want it all gone. I'm really looking forward to cutting it and growing out healthier hair. Going for a blunt look. Health over length any day. You're such a legend. 🤍 thank you for this video.
1st problem is people arent using and oil infused shampoo/conditioner. 2nd STOP USING PLASTIC HAIR TOOLS, and switch to wooden / bamboo brush and combs reason being is plastic creates more static and causes more breakage. 3 only deep condition (steam) your hair with oil only put enough on it to coat your strains. Once your done with that make sure you put a plastic cap over your hair after of a 15-30 steaming deep conditioning. Keep the cap on for 10 mins to cool your hair and to stop your cuticles from being open ( Dont rinse out the oil). Then proceed to part your hair in 4 equal parts and blow dry your hair on cool first but blow dry from the ROOT 1st. Then work your way down the hair shaft. After that start to blow drying your hair on medium heat. If your have butters only use a small amount and blow dry that in that your hair your hair to seal the moisture in . Style as you wish ❤.
@istayirie my clients all air dry with no issues. The study that they base out on literally says that more research needs to be done to understand the full effects of air drying but no one reads that part... They also omit the part where they show that heart exposure of any kind damages the hair cuticles.... People are biased in their presentation of scientific studies.
Steaming your hair works best to keep moisture in. I don't think your understanding what I'm saying 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️. The key to stop breakage has to do with everything I'm saying. try using Banta oil infused shampoo/conditioner and follow up with an oil. Only use enough to coat the hair strains, use a bamboo paddle brush to evenly distribute the oils. Go under the hair steamer 15-30 mins, once done place a plastic cap over head to stop the remaining steam from escaping. Leave the cap on for 10 mins ( Do not wash out the oil ) proceed to blow dry your hair on cool starting from the root to close your hair cuticle, then you work your way down the hair shaft to the ends. Then , proceed to put a small amount of hair natural hair butter in ,then go up to medium heat and finish blowing drying your hair throughout, once hair is completely dry go back to cool to close the hair shaft. Once I changeed my hair tools and followed these steps I experienced far less breakage and moisture was retained in my hair much longer which helped my hair grow much faster. But please stop using PLASTIC HAIR TOOLS and use wooden or bamboo. Your hair will thank you for it.

My oldest son has learned a lot about moisturizing his hair since he’s taken his locs out
@esthertjones thank you 😊
I need a twin of you to be in my head too 😂.

Hi
_Dry hair? Was she on the no oil and butters?_ 🧐🧐
Just cut it cause why is length more important than health
Steaming your hair too much can also severely damage it.
Steaming isn’t as great as u think….
i thought everybody was saying letting your hair air dry is the best, we not on that no more??
This is a really good consultation ❤. Thank you for caring about your clients hair🫶🏾🥰
My hair is a hot mess. I just dusted, but I know a trim is due. Tempted to loc it up again🫤
