Great video!
I really like this keyboard.
Nice video SKB!
Would love a longer sound test pretty pelase :)
I have the silver version of this (HP 970) arriving tomorrow after two MX Keys keyboards failed on me in less than 9 months each. I loved the MX Keys (other than the material quality) and this very much looks like HP was inspired by them, this is as close a copy as you're likely to find, including the lock key in the top right. Hopefully it last a bit longer than Logitech's effort.
I liked my MX keys as well, it too failed around 1 year. Logitech used to build good quality peripherals... now they build trash, the name means nothing. I now actively avoid Logitech because I have so many things that fail from them now. Failed headsets, failed keyboards, failed mice. Almost 100% of my Logitech devices have failed in some way within a year. 100%... that is crazy.
What is the best way to clean this keyboard? How to pop the buttons back on?
Where is the Print Screen button? How do I print my screen - and then crop the picture? Thanks!
overall good review. looking to buy this - would appreciate if you let us hear the typing sound w/o your voiceover though
Awesome keyboard - could see myself using this at work.
Scam reply from SKB or is it legit that you won a keyboard?
@@richardt2052 I fell like it's a scam. I got a message as well.
Is it anything like the typing experience on a HP Zbook?
I got this like 2 weeks ago. Bakclight is ok but when the setting is 25%, smart sensor on and duration is set to 30s I'm already at only 25% battery, so 6 month no way, 1 month tops, I don't care about that though I have the cable attached charging all the time from now on. The really BAD thing is you can not have backlight on all the time even though you are powered all the time which is just insanely stupid, but I knew this before I bought it and I guess I can live with this. The dongle seems to have very limited range, I had it in my computer wich is below the surface of my desk and it just lost connection so I moved it just 20cm from the keyboard in my external harddrive that has a usb hub built in and there it works perfectly. It is really a small keyboard and I like to type on it. The backlit keys though really bleeds light below all the keycaps and there is more light coming from that than from the top where all the letters are and this feels very budget for a very expecsive keyboard like this. But so far it feels great typing on, as good as my old backlit Logitech Illuminated Keyboard that was all wired (that could have light on all the time). I choose between this and the Logitech MX keys but I have been reading to much bad things about that keyboard so I went with this very anonymous keybord which I believe hardly anyone has heard about instead.. It's OK but really not worth the money, half price then it would have been the right price.
bios mode support in wireless keyboard?
Would it be good to game with?
Lets say i lost my USB receiver dongle. Can I get a replacement?
hey what's the material of the keyboard's body? thanks!
1. Can this work wired (with the USB cable plugged) or is the cable only for charging?
2. Are the scissor switches the same as you find on later Elitebook Laptops or are they Rubber dome?
Cable is only for charging.
Like several others on here, I'm wondering if this can be used as a wired keyboard:
1) Can it work without the dongle/BT pairing (USB cable only)?
2) Is it useable for BIOS settings?
3) Is the battery removeable?
4) Is the bundled cable power-only, or data as well?
Also
5) Can the Numpad function as a Dpad when needed?
3) Is the battery removeable? - No. It has an internal battery.
No usb cable only (power only) and I think that sucks, how hard could that be to implement, I really want the back lit to be on all the time.
you can tell where HP got some of its inspiration lol
from bad keyboards thats for sure
MX me wonder where the inspiration came from
Ye logical coping
Somebody knows if it's possible to have the HP 975 keys lit all the time connecting the USB cable to the computer? Thank you.
My HP 975 keys are not lit all the time. They work as it was shown in the video.
Hey another thing, please, can't find this info anywhere, can you lock the function keys? that is, make them so you press an "Fx key" without pressing the "fn key".
If you press fn and shift it will activate fn lock. the shift key even says fn with a lock symbol to show you the capability. Hopefully this answers your Q!
Great review as usual!! How does this compare with the Logitech MX Keys?
@@text1730 greetings from Canada SB!
The video is paid video I guess.
How do you switch between functions on the top row
Shift+FN
I am quite happy with this keyboard. Linux Tip: Press the Windows + Keyboard Brightness key to activate the back light. If you press the Keyboard Brightness key alone nothing happens.
If it had a compact version without the numpad i'd buy it.
It does.
@@dudemeister2752 model name?
Sorry, I am an idiot. I was watching comparison videos between this and the MX Keys, and confused it with the smaller version of the MX Keys (MX Keys Mini). This does not seem to have a small version. 😢
@@dudemeister2752😭
Anyone knows how to do pause break on this keyboard
looks good 👍
Why don’t you compare it to the Logitech mix keys?
Because it was a paid video I suppose.
Nice ✌️🙃
I'd rather have a track pad for your right thumb (like logitech k400 plus) instead of the numpad.
i cant hear the keyboard when you talk while typing
doe it works for laptop
This or Dell KB900?
Just got the Dell KB900 and mouse bundle and absolutely love it.
But yeah, I would like to see a head to head comparison. The HP seems about on the same level.
And, of course, there is the Logitech MX, which RUclipsrs go crazy about. I realize that is the keyboard/mouse combo to beat, but something about it bugs me. I just prefer something slightly more traditional I guess.
Why do you only review products that you get sponsor for!?
The same reason why you work…for the money! 💰 What kind of question is that?!
Money you dense boi.
Crap reviewer then. This guy's reviews are borderline advertisements. I just checked a laptop one and he provided no real content or opinions. Avoid this guy.
Struggling to find this info but can we have backlight always on if we want ?
I just ordered and recived the mx Keys and it's a joke , all those rave reviews ....clearly zero professionals using this , in a recording studio here , when i need to hit a key for a commande on my software having to move my hands first to see the keys is the most "counter productive" workflow i never seen , this energy consumation non sens need to stop ....
All nice except 1. print screen and stuff missing, 2. price ($120)
Where is PrintScreen button?
There isn't any that I can see (bought it myself), but there is a screenshot button on F9.
Itgd be nice to hear the keyboard without you tlaking a bit longer
Not for programmer to long distance between ctrl and alt ...
Its the same exact slim type keyboard 25 other companies are selling. Nothing special or unique about it. Except that its more money than most other identical options lol. 100 bucks, na im good.
Overpriced...
Compared to what?
@@Daaaaaaavid mx keys
Logi mx rip off
Lol it’s just a keyboard
this is the worst keyboard (and most expensive) I have ever bought... it is buggy.. the HP Accessory Center software required contantly disconnects (w10) and the support documentation is no existent... you should be ashamed promoting this keyboard.. try and find the manuals on HP... none !
HP products (except their VR headset) are garbage just like Dell.
I bought this keyboard myself, I actually like it sofar, the only alternative Logitech MX Keys is not really to be compared, this looks better and is for Windows-users better.
@@Daaaaaaavid how's the gaming experience on this keyboard
@@hamodebokhamsen5689 I don't do gaming, but as far as I know you won't want a flat keyboard for gaming, that's what gamers state.
@@Daaaaaaavid Are you able to charge it while typing? Also, do you need the software to make certain keys work, like the volume or mute bottoms?
@@shamir.globalimpact Typing while charging yes, wouldn't know why this should not work in any keyboard. I think there is a software, which I never used, but those standard key functions you see on it like volumen etc. don't need a software I think, you work with SHIFT like with any other keyboard.
