Brilliant lads!! Wondering about that second ‘Goldfinch’ in the gorse. Is that not a Linnet? Also.. whatever it is I think it has been lost..Rain has caused havoc with some of my nests!! Also your Dunnock in close proximity to your CWT..predation..similar story for me with a Yellowhammer tonight!? The GW nests are fantastic.. yes you know the GW when she is in and around!👍
Not 100% on what the one in the gorse is, I went for goldie because of how much moss and wool is in it, but linnet of course a possibility, agree probably a lost nest though- will check on it of course. Need to try and catch up with them wood warbler next week! Any guesses on the predator? Feel like it will be one of the rodents or perhaps weasel/stoat, something that can monouvre through the bramble?
@@Britishbirdsnests Strange one on the predator front..I lost 2 Blackbirds which I was thinking Corvid! Slap bang in between them was a Dunnock (foot off the ground) which i got out!! 4 chicks successful!👍
A couple of those nests are very wet indeed, I know we've had some very odd weather this year. I would be very interested to hear your opinion on the predation of the nests, whether it be other birds or land predators.👍
I wouldn't like to guess to he honest! Feel like it will be one of the rodents or weasel/stoat as doesn't appear to be any push through into the brambles and it seems thick enough to keep the corvids at bay? So makes me think it must he something that's van monuvre through the thicket - but 100% guess work!
The million dollar question Paul! Until we have an unquestionable amount of cables and camera equipment we will never know!!! Did you see the Fox on the Chiffy nest tonight on Springwatch???
@@Britishbirdsnests I had a stoat working an area last season. I am sure it took a Chiffy this season..Keeping a close eye on a Songy in a similar area..Very interesting!👍👌
@@thegeordierambler4373 I know the movement activated cameras are used widely these days. Believe it or not, I haven't had a TV myself in over 25 years, britain used to make the best TV programmes, not any longer.
This one was delayed as have been ill! So edited it together bit by bit whilst stuck indoors haha!

Glad the dunnock are after getting them out mate, they get hammered in some areas.
Hopefully whatever took my ones don't cotton on to the CWT 🤞
Have got a couple of 4g solar powered trail cams, hoping to get them out if I can find a couple of nests suitable - maybe some answers to be found 👀
