What a stupid announcer.. if he takes it to the rim to tie the game, that still leaves 3 to 5 seconds AND Baylor had a timeout. Baylor would have been able to get off a high quality shot and have a chance to win the game. Great coaching and great awareness by Georgia State.
No, that's actually smart. Georgia State was in transition and had a chance to get behind the defenders and tie the game. In this situation it was like boxing, just as you should protect yourself at all times, you should take the easiest shot at all times.
@@gallyturndrop5320 the game has changed dramatically in the last 5 years, you'll catch up eventually. A layup yes is a very high percentage shot but if you look at the stats and the facts, people are getting so much better at shooting it's unbelievable. The game has changed to the point that nobody says a damn word if you miss a 3 pointer to tie or win a game. You had an opportunity for that ball to go in, that's all that matters. 20 years ago, guys would have gotten benched for shooting a 3 pointer to try and win the game. Hell even 10 years ago. 3 pointers were a thing back then but it was still relatively new and only a small handful of guys were sharp shooters from deep. Now it seems like every team has at least 1 or 2 guys that can hit a shot from 26 plus feet. It's crazy man. Steph Curry wasn't the one that started it but he certainly altered par for the course.
@@fuhhkuuu3207 Hunter definitely didn't take a bad shot. He had space and it wasn't ridiculously deep but the announcer might be one of those old school guys that prefers the high percentage shot at all times. Either way, both were viable options IMO.
I wouldn't say stupid. I mean to be fair he was beyond the pro 3 area and it didn't look like they were even really setting up a play. in my opinion it was a great call by Georgia State because let's say that they get a two and send it to overtime. the longer the game goes the less likely they win. You've got a chance to make a gigantic upset, go for the win.
His dad falling off the stool after he buries the 3 is priceless
It's up there on my favorite NCAA moments.
This is seriously one of the biggest choke jobs I've seen in the last few years!
Chairman Meow NIU vs Texas A&M was waaaaaay worse
Uni
Palm tree neck ass that game was also rigged calling fouls on UNI when they didn’t touch anyone smh
man how can you be an NCAA division 1 guard and shoot worse from the FT line than the average middle schooler lmao
my thoughts exactly.
Facts lmaoo
He did his job. Made one when his team had to have it. The finished on a 13-0 run to win by 1 point and RJ Barrett had the other 12.
@@davidcombs3617 Bruh his name is RJ Hunter. RJ Barrett played at Duke with Reddish and Zion.
@@gauravagochiya4218 People make mistakes.
I was at this game. Honestly one of the greatest experiences of my life.
This Kid is cool as a cucumber. In the long shot he didn't even pump his fist, he was backpedaling into defensive position.
He knew the game was not over. That's why.
This was the first tournament I ever payed really close attention to, and this was the first game I ever watched in full. I've been hooked ever since.
“Take it to the basket” guy was reeeeeaaalll quiet after that shot went in hahaha even though I would traditionally agree with him.
Between 30 sec left and 19 sec left... geez, even slight basketball IQ and Baylor wins here
Got greedy trying to end it on a contested dunk.
Should have just dribbled it out and let the free throws end it
One of the immortal moments in sports history
Great comebacks are usually aided by sloppy play. GSU never gave up.
I still can't believe there wasn't a tournament this year. Stay safe everyone.
4:08 - Could watch this all day
Hunter's shot was so good that I forgot all about the comeback
Same
Can’t wait for March, that 3 ball was filthy
Connor Johnson ur mad
We backkkk
i like how the first words are "do you keep feeding hunter here"
That Hunter kid nearly single-handedly willed his team to the upset. Clutch!
Don't forget about Kevin Ware!
WOW WHAT A CHOKE
And now, Hunter has been cut from Charlotte's line up before entering the 2023-24 regular season. 😢
2:42 Baylor knew it was over....
