doesn’t just tell you, he explains ( in terms of pounds & pence !) why piano bass should be legato and treble bouncy - great teacher and also not youtuber hyper - a pleasant relief !

Nice overview of the basics! Tip for those looking to take their new skills to the local blues jam: Learn these riffs in E and A, because this is where the guitars and bass players will always want to be. Drill those keys until it's as easy as playing in C. If you want to play with horns - trumpet, bone and sax, you'll benefit from learning these riffs in Bb and Eb. Eb is unique, because a lot of guitarists will tune down a half step to play the open string riffs normally played in E. Oddly enough - most piano tutorials are in C, but I've rarely played in that key at blues jams!

Love this lesson on blues playing…I’m somewhat of a beginner to intermediate player and would like to progress my right and left hand coordination exercises as well as some fun riffs with right hand to advance my blues playing 🎹🎶

This has inspired me to go to the next level...making music. I've never sat down and played something as a song. I had too many traumatic experiences as a kid with music teachers, and now at 66 I want to accomplish this feat. You have a great style of teaching and are an inspiration to old dogs trying to learn new tricks.
I'll fetch the piano and practice this.
