- A few shots of my latest 009 model railway build which is a larger version of the original Pen Gwyn with several modifications. The layout is largely complete but there is still plenty of work to do around the buildings and various other detailing
At last. A 009 layout operating at scale speeds. Well done.
Cheers Pete, one of my pet dislikes is seeing layouts with trains zooming around. DCC and clean tracks certainly helps with slower running

Thanks Nige, it was started around this time last year and then worked on it now and again through the year. I think I enjoy the build sometimes more than running !

This must be one of the most detailed layouts I’ve seen with the sound making it sound fantastic Austin. Just missing a certain miniature figure on the platform 😂

Sadly not, it had to close due to cut backs and economies !

Out of curiosity, where did you get the oo9 footplate crew from?
The crews are all from Modelu. A few have had legs amputated to fit in the Quarry Hunslets as the speaker takes up some space! I've found it better in the past to order them in HO scale rather than 00 as they fit better

Beautiful layout you have created there Austin, lots of resemblance to North Wales (not just in the stock). As Steve said you need a “Modelu cameraman with tripod” person on the platform lol. Regards James.

@@acw71000 Somewhere like Plas Halt , Campbells Platform or Glanypwll would be nice. With Glanypwll you have the main FR line and Glanypwll itself. Nowadays they keep a full train and loco there for the service from BLF to Port and return.
A lovely layout with so many details. What do you use for filming it?

No, this is 6'6 x 2'6. The previous version was actually only 4'x2'
