  • We travel back in time with Adrian Hudson of 90-Minute Run and revisit the joy and the pain of music, pre-streaming. We talk CD's, mix-tapes, and discovering new music through show flyers at record stores. From Skinny Puppy to Nas and, eventually, Misfits and other punk rock--we trek across the 90's musicscape. This episode is all about 90's and early aughts Nostalgia, so join me as we drive around Farmington, New Mexico, and discuss whether we're on Team Danzig or Team Danny Northside.

I had no idea there were so many bands from Navajo land. You have your own music culture. I relate to Adrian's stories only in the sense that I too grew up in a situation where my closest friends and family were also my bandmates ("Life, Liberty, and Death" and "Mirror" - Roswell, NM circa 1969). I am still learning about the punk genre contributions to music. The power and drive of it resonates with me although I grew up musically on Hendrix, Deep Purple, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Cream, CSN&Y etc. Like Adrian, I started out as a nerd in school band (French horn). I am here for these Spagoshi stories and the legacy of the native music from the 4 Corners area. I am beginning to understand why punk rock rules there. Some of that must have been the difficulty of growing up in a racist environment. Despite those odds, the Dine' found a way to ROCK!

Thanks for comment Dave! Yes, there is a world of different genres on the rez and we're slowly getting to everyone on our list to interview. Your influences are just as great and in depth as Adrians. Have a great rest of your weekend and glad you enjoyed the video. Ahe' hee
