TO AVOID BOUNTIES: Many of you are saying you're getting bounties still - after you board the ship, if you're murdering crew, make sure they're all sneak attack kills. As long as no other crew member sees another die, no bounties are added. If you have a bridge-style cockpit with a ladder up to it, chuck a grenade up there. You can easily kill the entire crew of a huge class C ship and walk away with only 650 bounty for assault. Just make sure that no other crew witnesses another dying and you should be good. Works for me.
You dont have to travel in the ship you stole. After you sit in the stolen ship, make it your home ship. Your previous home ship undocks and its slow to take off so you can immediately reboard your ship then sit in pilots seat and make it your main ship again. The stolen ship will go into your collection and you're free to carry on your day
SPOILER You can attack the SysDef ppl when they make you an offer to be a double agent. Agree to help when in the cell, but attack via dialog after you are escorted. Attack and escape and you will get approached Dark Brotherhood style in Cydonia.
You can also just say no right at the beginning, and then walk down the Cydonia corridor. Someone will come up to you to offer something else. Same:Same.
You don't have to empty out the cargo hold and captain's locker if you're just going to register and sell the ship - you'll get all that stuff dumped into your current ship's inventory after you sell it. Corpses however do need to be looted, that loot vanishes otherwise.
I'm aware. It gives me an idea of what's there and the opportunity to grab credits, as they're easy to forget and get lost in the misc section in the ship inventory
When you take over a ship, undock then target your own ship. Go into the menu and change the stolen ship to "home ship" Then come out of the menu and quicy Dock with your old ship. Now you can board your old ship and make it hone again. The stolen ship is yours and will return to port. So you can steal a bunch of ships using your own ship.
Three more tips for ship combat: 1. the Sense Star Stuff power is very useful to know the location of humans on the ship (however it does not detect turrets) 2. the ladder acts as cover, so don't try to shoot through it and you can use it as a cover while reloading. 3. very early on, if you don't have a decent automatic weapon or fast reloading weapon, a pistol with burst fire mod is very useful
Having large bounties creates epic space battles over the major planets of the settled systems. I sided with the fleet and have all other factions attack me at once. If you survive the loot from 20+ ships is awesome. Those galbank ships drop a lot of creds. Just have a tank for a ship with a lot of hull, 2 sets of strong turrets, missiles, good shields, and plenty of ship parts.
There should be a threaten persuasion where if you leave them living, you can threaten them not to report you. If they do, you can get an activity to hunt them down.
There is a non-criminal way of joining the Crimson Fleet (but technically would make no sense or motivation to do so going that route...) [SPOILERS] Do UC Vanguard missions. They eventually give you the option to talk to SysDef and help them out with a little 'problem' they're having.
You have a lot to learn there Rook Learn to target attack first to begin combat. Learn to stealth capture ships Always sit in chair first before looting captured ship, it removes stolen good icons, as you now own it. Pick your targets, you don't need mission boards. Galbank ships are great esp Storm runner III ones, loads loot and ship sells for 30-40K profit plus another 10-20K from loot. Last one I did had 14K credits just in captain's locker. Jassanine crew from Pirate bar is great, she stealth, consealment and is dirty to boot plus she steals and gufts you all the time. She got a cute Scottish accent. Solo stealth on ship take overs though, crew get trigger happy
In my experience stealing ships isn't very profitable. You have to register it to sell it. Which is a lot. And the sale price you get can sometimes barely cover the registration fee.
There's not much profit, but if you register them from your pause menu instead of the ship services you can save money selling ships. The average ship that I steal generally bring about 10-15k profit.. that's not nothing.
All you need to not to pay bounties is to land at the port and walk in and uc will give you a option to pay or go to jail. I pick jail. Freestar just puts you in jail and takes all your stolen gear. But you usually wake up next to the chest full of stolen gear in the freestar jail.
I never see a Prompt to Dock with a ship that I've disabled, even when I'm right on top of them (within 500 feet). So I don't get how you got into that ship so quickly after disabling it. I didn't even see a prompt on your screen.
You gotta be in the lock-on screen targeting them and there's a prompt, like hold X or something. I had to think a sec, honestly, because I do hit it fast, but I think that was it.
I never get that no more witnesses message and always get left with the 15000 fine, even when I take off my constellation crew and eliminate witnesses Confirmed, I took out he target ship first and then the witnesses, not the other way around and left with no bounty
I learned a neat trick. Using console commands you can add one of the self service bounty clearing kioks to your ship. Its REALLY handy. You basically add the console that exists in your apartments that you can get in the game. The console allows you to customize the apartments but you can also add that console to your ship. You can add furniture, pictures and those kiosks.
The problem of witnesses in this game is the same as other Bethesda games because 'witnesses' is a broken system. Modders in F4 patched up that problem for that game, and now it mostly works in F4. lol Another problem in SF is that if you get into a ship with a smaller cargo hold than your current ship's CONTENTS, you can (and very likely will lose) the contents that can't fit. I've lost good weapons and spacesuits to that before I realized. All that extra content just isn't virtual. Bugged is my guess because there's no reason why it shouldn't just remain in the other ship, am I right? Of course if you immediately sell the other ship, you lose that cargo that way too. You don't have to take SysDef's offer to join them. Just say no. They drop you in Cydonia. Walk down the corridor, someone will walk up to you with a different offer. Same:Same, savvy?
Oh! Nearly forgot. When you are told in a CF mission to steal something from a ship, that something goes into your cargo hold. But when you arrive back at the Key the quest updates BUT those stolen items are still in your cargo hold. Bugged or intentional, sell 'em at the nearest trader for extra profit.
The "last witness" system is bugged. If you exit combat (like via stealth) your bounty will be recorded even if you kill eveveryone. If the enemies are in an open area it will often bug out too. Small confined spaces are the only place it *kinda* works.
Nice video! Tip.. sysdef wants you to be a snitch, tell him no…you’ll go to jail on mars..after you get out while on mars a random guy comes up to you with a note from the crimson fleet✌🏽
One time during my missions with the freestar rangers, I saw someone locked in my brig that was not part of my crew. I have NO IDEA how they got in there and where they went. Sadly, I just walked by and said to myself..."oh interesting." I never saw them again and have no clue how it happened.

Thanks dude! This will save me the headache of traveling to a space port to switch back everytime.
And dont register it ,use the register glitch
Crimson fleet quest line is by far the best. For that, I will always be CF! Even if they make an mmo some day, I'm CF for life.

Great video. Thank you for your thorough steps and your explanations.
I’d love to see a build guide for your pirate ship
Cool, I figure I'll have that up soon :) thanks
@@Darkdally can't wait to see the build🤩
Great content as always. Looking forward to the pirate ship build. Really like it!
There is another way to join down the vanguard questline. No spoilers but it avoids having to spend time in jail.
I appreciate the no spoilers.
Leave no witnesses. Something that I did after stumbling across a Gal Bank transport, who also had a rude person on the coms when hailing them.

😂Then you doing it wrong.
Any Class C III is a 20K to 30K profit, and another 20K in guns and loot, a Galbank III easily 60K
There's a glitch you can do to sell unregistered ship ;)
We need a way to sell black market, AND also be able to store ship's modules so we can set up a chop shop. lol

My go to ship boarding gun is my one inch punch magpulse 🙏🏼 if it can melt a Terramorph it can clear out a cockpit quick as shit 😂😂

Well shit, now I wanna do a character just for be a Pirate since my current one it's working with a lotta factions on the "Good Side"
This is not how the bounty system works for me. I’ve killed solitary ships and crews and killed them all … and still have a 5 figure bounty.
Bethesda games are always bugged, and the witness system has never been properly fixed across multiple games.
I want to try this but with "Useful Brigs" mod so I don't have to kill everyone.
Don't take any constellation people except vosco...he doesn't give a shit either...
I never get that no more witnesses message and always get left with the 15000 fine, even when I take off my constellation crew and eliminate witnesses

man I hope that's part of a future official update too - would love to actually decorate a ship instead of using the hab defaults.
35k pshh I just paid off a 550k for the UC 😂 thought I killed everyone in the fleet… apparently someone got away

Hello there!
Hey man!

Nice, I'm glad there's more than one way.
Bounty needs to be done properly, we have a brig, let us stun people, and drag them in, even hold them hostage and ransoms.
I agree, it'd be great to see some utility with the brig, or even the jail cell in some of the armory modules.
One time during my missions with the freestar rangers, I saw someone locked in my brig that was not part of my crew. I have NO IDEA how they got in there and where they went. Sadly, I just walked by and said to myself..."oh interesting." I never saw them again and have no clue how it happened.
@@davidjj33 I've seen crew members sleeping in there before... Barret, it was, in the cell. Saw that once.
Wish Bethesda would make it worth it to be a criminal most of the money you make is going to go to paying bountys
