Beautiful harmonies..a very freespirited song that catapults the listener into a dreamy landscape of what could have been if you had followed your heart and hit the open road....
That's a great comment. Here is a brilliant, nuanced, and deeply felt film. It's a bit like Llewyn Davis's performance of "Queen Jane" in the film: utterly compelling, yet uncommercial.
The Oscars don't celebrate good films...they celebrate good commercial films...the money makers....a film like this is unique too the people that really enjoy music and film....bravo the Coen Brothers and all the cast... awesome film.
I had to go and download the entire soundtrack because after watching I just couldn't stop hearing the music in my head. Beautiful soundtrack, beautiful movie and I hope a film that made Oscar Isaac someone to consider for future awards! He was brilliant!!
One of those movies I got as a freebie with a new release. I've watched it many times since. You expect a lot from a Cohen picture, and this does not dissapoint. I don't know, something about it grabs me. Great period piece, great music, everyone dos a great job, but there's something more to it. Just can't nail it down. Now, THAT is a good movie!!
+dasboot19801 I hadn't heard this song since 6th grade or something and watching this scene made me teary. I get what you mean, I like immersing myself into every frame of a Coen brothers movie and even though this one lacked somewhat, it still pulls you in for some reason. The period is visualized very well yes, but more than that its the smooth and lack of serious (sort of laid back) approach towards the story that's still mesmerizing. Hard to describe but... yeah
Awesome song. Not only does Timberlake show his true musical ability, but was surprised Carey Mulligan sang so well. I discovered the movie from a Graham Norton repeat - in which she mentioned the movie. She also didn't consider herself a good singer. I agree with Carey - she's outstanding!

+Bruce Sullivan I agree - I knew Justin was very talented - but this showed just how splendid his singing voice actually is. ALSO, Carey Mulligan's singing was superb. After hearing her speak about her singing, I wasn't expecting much... but when Justin and Carey began singing.... it was like magic.

I don't like most of his music because I just don't like it, much in the way I don't like most screamo; it's personal preference. I don't care for him as a personality because he strikes me as smarmy.

Just rewatched Inside Llewyn Davis today and I keep playing this damn song. Lovely and haunting.
If only Justin made music like this. This is just wonderful.

Trevian20 he's also a talented actor.

i wouldnt want to hit an open road tho, that would be suicide
Loved this movie. The fact it got almost nothing at the Oscars is terrible, but oddly fitting.

Money makers? I dont think Nebraska made that much...but this movie deserves a nomination.
People usually criticize the Academy for doing the exact opposite though.
If they celebrated money makers it would be action-sci/fi flicks.
Carey Mulligan should have sang more than one song. She has a lovely voice.
and justin timberlake
Justin sang two songs
She has a Lana Del Rey vibe.
I bought the Blu-ray. It was interesting but not as good as I thought it would be.
@@imaginepeace63 I think they’re both masterpieces

Fantastic song, super sung with amazing music mood. It is awesome to go to bed having in own ears such sounds!
I wasn't even looking for this song. I was looking for a different one. But this one is really beautiful so I'm glad I found it.
This brings back all kinds of nostalgia. So emotional.
We sing this song at 4h camp sometimes and it's my all time favorite. So glad it was included in this movie
Timberlake has talent for sure; be cool if he did more folk/bluegrass stuff.
Beautiful song. Love everything Justin Timberlake has done and Carey Mulligan sounds wonderful
just no words , this song and this performance are just amazing !
This song give a goosebumps. Thanks your for this wonderful and best song I have ever heard 🔥

it's a SAD song :(
Why is it called Five Hundred Miles? They never say 500 Miles in the song, they say a Hundred.
0:58!
Check your hearing, they say "five hundred miles" during each chorus.
they say 100 miles in the chorus 5 times. 100x5 = 500
