Hedy West (April 6, 1938 - July 3, 2005) was an American folksinger and songwriter. She belonged to the same generation of folk revivalists as Joan Baez and Judy Collins. Her most famous song "500 Miles" is one of America's most popular folk songs. She was described by the English folk musician.................Respect for HER.!!!!!!!!
My father was a Railway Station Master in India from 1945 to 1969. I grew up in the Railway quarters playing on Railway platform and sidings. Now I am 74 years old and today this "500 Miles" Song took me back to my childhood days in 1950s and 60s. Thank you very much Justin Timberlake. 😊😊
I never hear english songs. Two lines of this song made me to go hear full lyrics. Tears rolled on my cheeks. Do the english songs are so simple and touching. My salute to one who created this song.
A song which is obvious a classic. But I will also give thanks to the visuals. It seems very fantastic and giving a nostalgic feeling especially, when the train and the faraway road is being seen with an open sky. Hats off to the visuals with this classic song.
Thank you.... I believe that is this rendition of 500 miles is the best I've ever heard. I'm 70yrs.old and I have heard them all but the harmonies here are so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes... thank you again Justin and friends 👏👏👏👍

This make me remind of the best teacher of my life, Dr. Ashok Mukherjee (MS) , when I was a student of National Medical College and Hospital. It was his favourite song , and he often asked me to sing that song. I miss my teacher ,my Guru Dr. Ashok Mukherjee a lot. Sir , plz bless me wherever you are. Rest in Peace Sir 😰
Even though i live with my family and in my home, but i still feel like I'm 5 hundred miles away from my dreams. But i never give up. Life isn't always easy 😄

A classic! A song that has touched the hearts of every Music lover in different versions. This Justin version is awesome and capable of making the listeners nostalgic.
My mom used to sing this to me to put me to sleep on quiet afternoons when I was a kid..the soft sunlight sifting through the windows and leaves rustling..
I was on a field trip to a science center, I hear this song in a film in the imax theatre and I almost started crying because it was so beautiful 😢 Right when I got home I had to search it up 😊
This song was released in the 60's when I was 13 years old and I have heard it live about 3-4 times. Now even in my 70's I just cannot resist to listen to this song
It's Hindi adaptation Job koi bat is also equally exciting and heart touching. This 500 miles have already crossed billion miles through the hearts of music lovers across the globe transcending the barriers of language. A master piece of sheer music 👌
What a classic song! So soothing and keeps lingering in ears days on. Inspired by this an Hindi song was composed in the film JURM which went on to become a huge hit.
This song will really put you into homesick...most especially you and your dear ones are far apart from each other. I really love the sounds of the guitar and violin in the background.
OOhhh, what a dejavu, I am again back into my childhood years when my late father sing this very song to me and tears always well in my eyes, May Jah God keep him in His memory...
This was the first English song that I've heard. I was in the first year of my primary school, and our music teacher made us sing this song at the annual school program. Back then, I didn't understand the lyrics properly, but whenever we used to practice this song, my eyes always filled with tears. This is the only moment I recall clearly from my primary years. LOL.
Great song and awesome vid. Takes me back 35 years to when I was just 18 and getting on the plane heading off to Army basic training. And also a couple long distance relationships I've had in the past. Thank you for the trip down memory lane :-)
That scene when World War 2 soldiers were waving goodbye while going in train to their battleground broke my heart as not all of them would be coming back again😢😢😢 Anyways this reminds me of my beautiful childhood days.I learnt this song in kindergarten and my mom had a beautiful voice and would sing this song. Aw.. how nostalgic😭😭😭 Press 👍 if it makes u nostalgic too...
Awesome song we have sung this song in school when I was a kid it's many years ago. I felt good after listening to this song many years after. AWESOME SONG
I don't know what was the original purport of this wonderful folk song. But I get a different and subtler meaning. When my soul leaves and thus misses this 'body train', oh my friends and relatives would know that ' i was gone'. When you hear a whistle sound in the rituals, as is custom in many cultures, you would know that ' i was dead and gone'. My soul has shed its 'body cloth' and is now naked without its 'body shirt' on its back. The soul has no penny to its account meaning 'it does not have much merit to its credit. And there is no way my soul could return back to its 'body home'. This is a wonderful folk song with deep meaing. Justin Timberlake's voice is mesmerising.
This song reminds me of my hostel mates because this was the song which we sang during farewell party and it got so much emotions 😔💖 I'm loving it....god bless to the singer who made such an amazing song🌺💖 lots of love from Nagaland
When i hear this song,it reminds me of my childhood, back when my father sings with his guitar, and is still alive. Now he is gone, even my grandmother is gone just last January 2.God help me overcome this pain of losing them,it breaks my heart so much.
This reminds me about my god the father in heaven and the home in heaven my way of living is 10,000 miles from my lord i wish to go back to him because he receives any one without any demands. Oh my Abaaaa father
