I love steam powered equipment and with today's technology a super efficient closed loop steam powered car is something I'd love to see, steam still has a place in the world. Great video, amazing to see a Doble with her clothes off!

Totally agree. Steam in someways is still a head of its time but left behind long before modern technology got to use it.
For larger scaled vehicles including ships, trains and lorries we're mad to still be sucking heavy-diesel fuel only to be using 15-30% of what's actually combusted. The disadvantages that steam power had back then were that the water and fuel consumption was high at stop & starts, but they're also extremely heavy to slow down. A front drive electric motor and battery pack for energy recapture would be an optimal fit with its low speed high torque and efficiency, a match made in heaven for steam trucks/buses; not least because where electric vehicles fall is drawing high amps at sustained high speeds whereas these 1920s Dobles travel effortlessly at +60mph.

@@sandervanderkammen9230 hahaha, mate... burning fuel is by far more thermal inefficient than electronically superheating water... even with the thermal inefficiency of burning a fuel to get superheated steam, that's is still by far more efficient than directly burning the fuel as with combustion engines, as superheated steam engines are by far powerful as its nothing but torque and far more efficient as it uses essentially up to 80 to 90% of the superheated steam... and if you add in electric heaters instead of burning a fuel... well... that's essentially 100% fuel efficiency.

You are very confused and misinformed.
The Doble steam cars were the most expensive and unreliable cars in history.
Barely 150 horsepower and torque drops with rpm increase.
EPA test showed that the Doble boiler produced more pollution than an internal combustion cars tested in 1970.
These cars spew out massive amounts on NOx emissions and have an absolutely appalling carbon footprints compared to modern ICE cars.

@@sandervanderkammen9230 Nature needs CO2 for plant life....to say Co2 is bad is part of the Globalist Lies...But yes, internal combustion engines have a better efficiency.... Doble was in its days remarkable engineering - the internal combustion engines of its time where not so efficient either.....( low compression, side valve jobs... ) Apart from all that, around 2000 there was that German firm " Enginion "- a VW Subsidiary - who did develop the " steam cell " - a catalytic steam generator for combined home power / heat.... they also developed a 3 cylinder steam engine to power a car, that gave 150 BHP, and its boiler had a very clean exhaust.... the engine did feature ceramic liners and pistons to cope with the high steam temperature & pressure.....This was a working prototype with great Promise.... The Idea was to have it installed in a Skoda Fabia... making that a real modern steam car.... But then Angela Merkel did decide we did not need such a car....
Enginion does not exist anymore, and data of its products have disappeared from the net....
We could have cars with combustion engines that run on water, and that have no emission problems... but the technology is classified by the US for " national security reasons " ....

@@jandoerlidoe3412 I totally agree that CO2 is plant food and it's not causing damage to the environment.
But HCs and NOx produced by steam cars is not healthy, ICEs are cleaner and better for the environment.
The Doble was an absolutely amazing piece of engineering artwork... but it was also the most expensive car in the world and completely obsolete.
That's completely false, in the late 1920s and early 30s practical ICEs were available in the 40% efficiency range, cost a mere fraction of the Doble and were an order of magnitude more reliable.
The Jumo 203/204 was flying in aircraft in 1929 with +40% efficiency.
The VW/Enginion scandal was very quietly swept under the rug and forgotten, it is not known how many millions of dollars were stolen from VW stockholders in this fraudulent vaporware investment scam but it is known now that the company completely fake.
ICEs cannot run on water, you would be very gullible and niave to believe such ridiculous nonsense.
