    Your skills have grown and you can see it in the project. And yes, I think we all get excited when you do. Love your work and you should be immensely proud of your journey to this point. I'm going to call this your best build to date. Can't wait to see what you do next. Chris (your number one fan) ❤👍

    What a wonderful build all round Ainslee. It's not just for the end result (which of course is amazing), but the absolute pride that was on show when it all came together. I've said it before, I think you're perhaps the only person who is constantly surprised by this. We all knew you'd nail it.

    Capital work Ainslee, I am proud of you! Years ago I made a length of tracking with a depth drill [many contiguous holes!] and then chiselling and sanding. That was over half a century ago!
    The tip Cut to Dimension at the last moment is pure gold!
    Thank you for sharing this with us Ainslee, fascinating, educational and with good humour, we viewers want for nothing! Best wishes for the Festive Season. Eryk :-)

    Quality work ! If you never take that first step you will never make a journey. A tip for cleaner cuts try a zero clearance insert in the table saw and miter saw or a piece of tape along the cut line

    • @SmallFryCreations
      @SmallFryCreations  Год назад

      Thank you. So true. Just gotta get in and start. A zero clearance for the miter saw is on the list. I agree it would help.

    The door is *amazing* - your joy is absolutely infectious!
    (I had to close my eyes when you made the handle though, that's a pretty dangerous cut on a circular saw without push sticks or blocks, if that wood splinters, or shifts, you'll be missing digits, please be safe!)
    Absolutely love the finished product :)

    Well done Ainslee. I'm so happy for you that the Tambour Door worked and the whole project turned out great. I tried to do a Tambour door with a bread box a few years ago and it was a complete disaster. So the bread box ended up with a hinged door instead. I think I made the same mistake you did at first and cut the strips too wide. Looking forward to seeing the next project. Merry Christmas and have a happy new year.

    That worked out well mate. I’ve got a similar one in the shed I started a few months ago that is in a state where the tambour is still in the glue up jig. Left it a bit longer than you did hahaha

    Seeing the door come to life , very satisfying.
    Will have to give it a go. How long did you end up ironing the canvas ?

    • @SmallFryCreations
      @SmallFryCreations  Год назад +1

      Thank you. I reckon I ironed for about 5 mins. As soon as the canvas didn’t lift I went for it. 😀
