Thanks again Mr Lloyd! You are a life saver! I've always wanted to upgrade the speakers on my car for well over a year. The local car audio shops near my home have told me that since my car is a newer, more recent model. I'd have to get the blueprints for my audio system so that they could upgrade my speakers and add my 1200 watt amplifier to the existing stereo. So, rather than risk letting them butcher my car. I decided to wait. And, during the past year, I've found a lot of videos and tutorials like yours that have made it possible for me to save money by doing the work myself. Thank you, I'm very grateful! Now,... I just need to switch out those pesky door speakers.
Sonny Miller You are welcome. Glad I could help. Here is the full service manual: www.hsguide.net/hyundai_sonata_yf_2011_year_service_manual-6.html I am sure it will come in handy for you. Here is the audio section: www.hsguide.net/audio-472.html
I have a 2016 Sonata Sport and I used your video as a guide. I did a couple things a little different than you but your video definitely was a BIG HELP. Thank you Sir. Your videos work all the way up to 2016 for front and rear doors.
Your video helped a lot. In my 2016 Sonata the speaker magnet is firmly attached, so I had to cut off the entire back of the plate (except for the connection tab), and decided to screw the new speaker to the plate rather than glue it. I then found I had to grind off the back of the screws... Having all the tools handy was a big help: glue gun, side grinder, soldering iron, etc. And once I got one completed, the rest went fairly fast. Thanks!
The fit is truly perfect. The speakers have been installed for over a year at this point. They still work great, with zero rattle at any volume or setting and the sound quality has been greatly improved from the factory speakers. Thank you very much for the kind comments and watching.
I have a 2011 GLS and I just completed this upgrade today. I used the sony XS-R1646 in all four doors. I am somewhat of an audiophile and have mixed opinion on the results. The good news is that the sound quality is improved. The downside is that the balance is off and one can't really tweak it how it needs to be(unless a new head unit is purchased). While the factory speakers are very cheap and inexpensive that system is tuned to the perfection to sounds as good as it could. Since the back speakers never had a tweeter there was no need for them to get a high freq signal. So when I listen to the new speakers(although there are some highs) they are somewhat muffled because they aren't really getting the whole frequency range. I tried messing with the Bass/midrange/treble and I ended up at +3/0/-3. But it will probably bother me to the point where I will start looking for a head unit and now possibly thinking about a subwoofer. It does sound better on the whole but there is something about the balance of tone and not being able to tweak that bothers me.
Good Job! 8 years after you made this video, I did a similar rework on my Hyundai Kona 2020. Trimmed the speaker supports but kept the one with the original connector and used it. I was sure that I "invented the wheel", and just now I found that you did it 8 years before me :-)
Thanks Richard, I appreciate your inventive way of reusing the factory mounts, a little extra work, but perfect fit and no need to purchase extra mounting hardware and wiring harnesses, a money saver.
I live in Texas so snow is not an issue, heck even water is rarely and issue LOL. Do they make low profile all season? Maybe you can get them on a separate set of rims so you can just switch them at spring time. Remember no matter what you get make sure you check the speed rating.
@G Stell I only changed the speakers and my sound quality was greatly improved. You can always do the speakers first and if you don't like the results upgrade the head unit after. Thanks.
Hi richard i have a 2011 hyundai sonata limited 2.4l with navigation systems , do you have a video how to removing and install the sub woofer and what the best quality recommendation and size off the woofer that you recoments,
Am do it like you, I install 2 Crunch 3 way but the color cables is different the color is green and orange or beige think so, don’t have voltage tester, am figure out the beige is the positive and green is negative, well I think sounds good, am put high volume sound very clear and crisp not any distortion, later am do same in rear speakers, thanks for awesome tutorial👍🏻
That was great I just applied the same, with a sony explode 5 ways speakers, with 350 watt each, 4 speakers were installed as you demonstrated. But i didn't feel a change in the sound quality, so i have to install a sound amplifier? Or no need for a 350 watt 4 speakers? I just want the sound to become better and more vital, it is not about the volume, it is just the quality!! Can you help with that dear rich? Thank you
I believe the color code is the same on either side. If you are unsure about polarity. Use a meter on the DC scale while the radio is on and tuned to a channel (DO NOT CROSS THE WIRES) and check to see which wire gives you a positive result. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Nice work! Do you recall what the Ohm rating was on the factory speakers. Im looking at some replacements and want to make sure they shake hands well with the factory head unit.
I believe they are 4 ohm you can see it at 2:38 on the back of the speaker. Unfortunately I am in a location where I can not get 1080P to read it myself. Thanks for watching.
The infinity stereo is an option. But as far a GPS goes I would buy a external Garmin GPS with lifetime maps and optional traffic. It is far easier to keep that upgraded and up to date. That is my personal preference of course.
Would 6 3/4" speakers possibly fit a little better? I like the idea of using the previous frame from the old speaker, as you can just hook the wires right up. Thanks for posting this!
+Kyle Kaspar You are welcome. You can see at the 8:50 point in the video that the 6.5 inch speakers fit very nicely. I am sure you could use a slightly smaller speaker and it would work as well but I don't think you could get a better fit than the 6.5 inch speaker. Thanks.
+Kyle Kaspar Crutchfield seems to think so. They list a ton of 6.75" speakers as the correct size for 2011-present Sonatas. It's pretty strange as standard speaker sizes used in cars are 5.25" and 6.5". I really hate it when companies decide to go non-standard with stuff like this, making it much more difficult to work on the product yourself.
I have a 2013 Santa Fe, I'm sure it's the same sad paper cone speakers as you had. I didnt opt for the infinity 10 speaker system since to get it you need to upgrade the whole trim level of the car, to much extra money. The standard 6 speaker system is fine for soccer moms and news radio. Ask it to perform and it trips over its own feet.
I did not replace all six speakers just the 6.5" door speakers and yes they are cheesy low end speakers. It's was well worth the $90 I spent on the speakers for the increase in sound quality.
Thanks for the great video! I just wanted to confirm you just changed your speakers and nothing else. I keep reading that if you change your speakers you need to change the head unit, add an amp, etc. I'm interested in doing what you did and just add speakers. I'm not an audiophile, just want to upgrade the sound! Thanks in advance.
They did sound much better than the stock speakers. It was well worth the money and time to do it. I enjoyed the system much better after the upgrade. Thanks.
I bought my Sonata Turbo used so I did not have the option to chose the premium sound system. But I saved so much money buying it used that I can afford to do a few upgrades. BTW I love the sound now and the car over all is a dream.
I'm not sure if they were component speakers but I do know they were poor sounding low quality speakers. The new coaxial speakers sound much better. They plugged in and function fine. The mixer controls on the head unit allow you to shape the sound anyway you want. The treble from the factory tweeters can be a bit much at times but you just turn down the treble and it sounds fine again. I did not like the stock speakers at all, again these sound much better. Thanks
They sounded pretty good but really it's hard to play music on RUclips as there are issues with copyright laws. Thank you so much for commenting and watching. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Great video! I had a question , does yours have navigation? Reason I ask is because I was told that at bestbuy that I ended to go the dealer to change my speakers, aftermarket speakers would not be compatible with the in dash system.
No, I do not have navigation so I am not sure what they are referring to as far as "compatible". Speakers vary in size and specifications. The connectors and the mounting brackets where an issue in installing my speakers. I can't imagine yours being different but anything is possible. You could always take the door panels off and have a look to see if they are different from what I show in the video. Thanks for watching.
I really appreciate your very detailed videos I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Limited that comes with the 8 inch woofer was wondering if you changed out the tweeters or have tweeters and if the 6.5 in speakers are powered by a small amp
+stretch323232 I only changed the door speakers. I left the original factory tweeters in the dash. I did not have the premium Infinity stereo system with the sub woofer. I found the base stock speakers to be less the adequate for my liking but changing the door speakers alone did a great deal to improve the overall sound quality. Thanks
I️ have a 2014 Sonata and I get complaints about my music with just the factory speakers. I️ want to try this!! Do you have a tutorial on replacing the tweeters in the dash??
No sorry I do not. I no longer own the car so I can not do a video on that. I found the tweeters on the dash to be the only decent speakers in the stock set up. Thanks.
So if the magnet on the door speaker is big the window won't go down because its blocking it? Or does the speaker never touch the window if it's too deep?
I unfortunately no longer own this car so I can not do a video on that. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
My driver side window switch broke . It still works it's just a floppy button for driver window . Do I need to remove the whole door panel or can I just pop it out from the panel ? Thanks !
Unfortunately you will have to remove the door panel. Here is my video on how to do that: ruclips.net/video/FNSTeVYjjFo/видео.html You can see how the switch is screwed in at the 7:30 mark in the video. All the best. Thanks.
Depth (Approx.) : 1 11/16" Weight (Approx.) : 1 lb. 5 oz. per speaker Diameter (Approx.) : 6 1/2 inches You can see all the specs here: store.sony.com/6-1-2-3-way-speakers-zid27-XSGT1638F/cat-27-catid-All-Car-Stereo-Receivers-Speakers Here are the speakers at Amazon: amzn.to/1dN69UB
Digme Ahole I am not sure what that depth is but if you look at the video at Hyundai Sonata 2011 - 2013 Door Speaker Replacement Replacing Factory Speaker With Sony Speaker you will see my screwdriver next to the original speaker. I measured that screwdriver and to where it reaches the bottom of the mating surface of the speaker and that was 3.5 inches. Note that the magnet is quite small on that speaker. Thanks.
Did you call Hyundai to make sure that you have the remainder of the warranty on your CPO? I did. The dealer told me I had till 60,000 but I looked into it and I actually was supposed to have warranty to 100,000 miles because it was CPO. When you call Hyundai make sure you get the name and case number for your records.
It took me a while to figure it out because I thought the colors on mine weren't matching online wiring charts but once I took off both panels it became clear. I was thinking right rear was behind me on the right (as if I were in the driver's seat) but it's actually rear door behind driver (as if you were standing in front of vehicle).
I bought the replacement speakers you linked. Is there any way to connect the wires to the system without having to use the old mold? The connector in the door doesn't look like it will hold the wires that come with the speaker.
You could use these adapters for Hyundai speakers. (2) Pair of Metra 72-7300 Speaker Wire Adapters for select Hyundai and Kia Vehicles - 4 Total Adapters At Amazon: amzn.to/2cdVWIc Thanks
You could use zip ties to secure it here are some at Amazon: amzn.to/2bYyRLG make sure that nothing comes close to touching the speaker cones as they do move and you don't want anything rattling against them. Thanks.
Hi Richard, Infinity speakers comes with Sonata 2013?. I want to upgrade with infinity GPS but I dont know if my car comes with the infinity system Thanks
Yep sure did. I have 70,000 7yrs left on it. That turbo sure does help. In those situations, slow drivers, and the ones who never know what lane there in. My only gripe is the tires. I live in a city and we get all different weather. So I need to buy all seasons to use. The sport tires do me no justice in snow. Even a flurry.
thanks for the video i finish my car Hyundai Sonata 2015 Sport 2.0T but i use the Metra 72-7300 Hyundai/Kia connector , and the Metra 82-7300 Speaker Adapter, and install Hertz Audio ECX 165.5 6.5 and fits with no problem thanks again for the video is the same thing on my car thanks
You are welcome. Thanks for the great feedback. Here is the link for Metra 72-7300 Hyundai/Kia 2-Way Speaker Harness Connector At Amazon: amzn.to/2dytBRI, here is the link for the Metra 82-7300 Speaker Adapter for Select 2010-14 Hyundai and Kia Vehicles At Amazon: amzn.to/2dMI4bC and Hertz Audio ECX 165.5 6.5" Energy Series 2-Way Coaxial Speakers At Amazon: amzn.to/2dGO4zA I am sure it sounds great.
Hi i need information, ok if i change the front dash speaker you don't know if i need to switch or change the position of the cable like that ones on the video that you need to change the cable ??? is because i want to install in the dash the Hertz DCX 87.3 - Hertz 3"
I no longer own the car and did not service those speakers so I can't speak from experience if the cables are not compatible I am sure there are adapter kits or if you have a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing you you could just cut the leads and solder them together (make sure you get the polarity correct). Here is the instruction manual on those speakers www.hsguide.net/speakers_repair_procedures-479.html Look pretty straight forward. Thanks.
It came with full range standard speakers. I am sure I would not have had any need to replace them if it had a set of infinity speakers. Thanks for watching.
Do you know much about the 2015 Sonata. I want to upgrade the speakers but am unsure if there is any speakers in the back ( 6x9's) like previous models.
Jaime Ortiz I don't have access to a 2015 but I know the 2011-14 have 6.5" circular speakers in all four doors and if you have the premium Infinity sound system a subwoofer I think 10" in the rear window deck. Thanks
I think they are two inch. I did not replace them because they seem to work well. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
I have an 09 hyundai sonata, and I was thinking of replacing the stock speakers, but i wish to keep the head unit and dont really want to add an amp, would these speakers be much better? and would they sound loud still? i can literally find no useful information on the internet.
I only changed the speakers and it made a large difference in the quality of the sound. It was very noticeable. It went from barely OK to much much better. I did not feel the need to update anything else and still don't.
so they still got pretty loud then? was thinking of taking them out and replacing them with some JBL ones, maybe the front tweeters as well. another question, it seems like theres a slot in the trunk for another speaker, im not exactly sure what the round slot is for exactly.
Thanks. Mine has the infinity speakers and they sound amazing. I was worried you were changing those. And was beginning to think if i should change mine.
I went to an audio shop near me, real professional guys. Two things to mention they genuinely seemed to want to help me, one of the guys spent about an hour or so in my car just listening to music with me and explaining everything to me. He said for my sonata, the quality is already great he said we can do a basic setup of a custom enclosure box, amp, front speaker upgrade but I wouldn't really be able to hear the difference all that much. He told me I shouldn't really mess with the audio unless I have insane amount of money to spend about 1400$++ to hear a very big difference. So I'm not sure this is even worth doing.
There were two factory systems for the 2011 Hyundai sonata SE 2.0 a standard system (what I had and did not like) and a premium Infinity package which was very good. If you have the infinity package it will be labeled as such on the speakers and the head unit otherwise you have the standard system. BTW I think your car audio guy is a very good salesman. Thanks.
i dont know if your still responding to questions, but im tryna add an amp and an 8 inch to the slot in the back. am i going to have to re wire every speaker in my car to the amp. because there is no spot in the back of the stereo toconnect the auxillary plugs for the amp. and if i connect the converting kit then thatwould take power from the speakers and they wont sound right? any help
+IAmSymbah Unfortunately I did not do any amp work for this video, I strictly just changed the door speakers. I know that there is an upgrade Optional Infinity system that has sub and an amp that mount in the trunk cavity. You may have to upgrade the head unit to get all the outputs you require. Here is the repair guide that shows all the components and locations www.hsguide.net/speakers_repair_procedures-479.html You may have to buy an after market head unit. They do sell head units on Ebay but again I have not bought them or installed them. Thanks.
I wouldn't add an 8 inch speaker to that slot. the speaker that came with the car is a free air speaker design and any aftermarket is designed to go with a box. I put a pretty good quality Polk audio 8in sub and wasted my money it vibrated like hell and the sound quality could've improved. once put in a box it sounded better but I upgraded to a single 12 in a box and it makes a world of difference
Hey Richard I have a 2012 sonata limited with the infinity factory with navigation. Question is there a factory amp? There is a factory sub in back second question can I replace factory 6.5 speakers in door and have better sound with the after market speakers being 4 ohm I believe
Yes there is a factory amp and I believe (not sure) it is behind the felt on the wall of the trunk on the passengers side. The infinity system is pretty good but if you want to change the speakers I can't see any reason why not. Usually the speakers have the ohm rating printed on them so prior to buying the speakers I would take a look at the factory speakers you have so you get the right Ohm rating. I did not have the 'premium' infinity system so the improvement in audio quality was huge just upgrading the speakers. As you could see in the video my speakers where just full range paper speakers. I am not sure how good the infinity speakers you have are so I really can't tell you if you will get an improvement in audio quality. Thanks for watching.
Great video. thank you. to answer the question about "Ohms" automotive audio uses 4 homs and residential audio uses 8 homs. that's just the way it is. . . . i think the reason is the voltage automotive stuff uses 12 volts and residential uses 110/120 volts (U.S) you were suposed to do a sound test before (old speakers) and after (new ones) so we can hear if there is a significant differance in sound quality
Thanks for the info and watching. As far as a sound test goes you would be depending on the less than adequate microphone on my video camera to do the comparison. I doubt you would actually hear the difference. I guess you are going to have to trust me on this the sound quality is much better. I know you can judge a speaker by it's looks but you can actually feel the difference. The system has more punch.
I'm glad you like your upgrade however if it was anything like the system I found on our 2011 you actually downgraded your speakers--severely downgraded. Factory speaker had the same tiny magnet as what you pointed out however it was not a ferrous magnet it was neodymium in other words that sony needed a double stacked magnet at 7" diameter to produce the same force on the voice coil as the tiny neo magnet does. I also found factory crossover system in place that renders the 2/way design of the sony's essentially useless as the tweets are cut off from the sound frequencies they are designed for. Ours does not have the infinity system either. Like I said I'm glad you are happy with it for everyone else please check to make sure you are actually upgrading not downgrading. Neo speakere have itty bitty magnets but are 100X stronger and cool the coil more effectively than ferrous counterparts.
Trust me the Sony speaker was an upgrade in every way, quality of sound and they are considerably louder with a greater dynamic range. The bass now has punch too. You may be right about the magnets but these speakers are no doubt better than the original factory speakers.
Trust me unless it was an infinity system. The factory speakers are absolute garbage. That cost hyundai not even $1 a speaker. The entire enclosure spells cheap. He upgraded big time. Sorry you don't know much about car audio..
I am working on doing this currently, I find it strange though. I followed crutchfields site for positive and negative wires www.modifiedlife.com/2011-hyundai-sonata-car-radio-wiring-information/. However my speakers sound like they may have the wrong polarity, and in this video you seem to suggest the opposite of what crutchfield says.
I tested the output from the speaker with my digital meter and I am certain that the polarity I state in the video at 7:25 in the video is correct. The meter does not lie and my speakers connected correctly sound great. Here is a link to the audio system service manual www.hsguide.net/audio-472.html

Followed your directions installing front and rear pairs of Kicker 6.5's in 2015 Sonata, worked like a charm, thanks!
That's great. You are most welcome. Glad I can help. Thanks for watching and the feedback.

Brilliant video, that modified bracket is a work of art, would never of guessed the speaker would fit so well :D

very few factory speakers are worth used toilet paper, its how the sell super expensive stereo upgrades.
+Richard Lloyd any word on the available mounting depth?
I am not sure exactly how deep it was as I did not have a problem with depth. I know my speaker was 3.8 inch deep. Thanks.
Hi richard i have a 2011 hyundai sonata limited 2.4l with navigation systems , do you have a video how to removing and install the sub woofer and what the best quality recommendation and size off the woofer that you recoments,
Great video...what was the Ohms on factory radio. Did or do you have a factory amp? Thanks Jim in NY
The test is done on the speakers or the output that comes from the stereo.

I'm looking to improve the bass in my Sonata. What speaker system would be best for that in your opinion? I have some Alpine speakers in mind.

You are welcome. I changed only the speakers. Everything else is the stock equipment that came with car from Hyundai. Thanks
If you want to get a 500w+ radio, then you’ll need an amp, but we’re talking speakers here.
Was the speaker a significant upgrade over the stock, and did the factory amp drive it well?
They did sound much better than the stock speakers. It was well worth the money and time to do it. I enjoyed the system much better after the upgrade. Thanks.

Agreed. I too bought it CPO. For a real steal, way below kbb. Love it, excellent car and the turbo is amazing power comes on so effortlessly.
Fantastic video. Professional.
Thank you very much. All the best.
Good luck and thanks for watching.
Good Job Richard,
I would like to get it too)
thank you for your video, is really helpful for me to choose the speakers for my sonata yf.
I just took 4 hour drive and again seriously enjoyed the my upgrade of these speakers. It was well worth the money and effort.
A couple questions for you. Does the front have component speakers? If so, how do you replace components with coaxials?
I'm not sure if they were component speakers but I do know they were poor sounding low quality speakers. The new coaxial speakers sound much better. They plugged in and function fine. The mixer controls on the head unit allow you to shape the sound anyway you want. The treble from the factory tweeters can be a bit much at times but you just turn down the treble and it sounds fine again. I did not like the stock speakers at all, again these sound much better. Thanks
Great video but I hoping to hear how speakers 🔊 sound
@@richardlloydusa With Navigation, the package includes Premium sound system from Infinity.
@@super2sk Infinity systems tend to run their speakers off the stock amp at 2ohms. Most speakers are 4 ohm.
Thanks
Thanks Richard I appreciate your videos very descriptive making my Hyundai diys a breeze
+stretch323232 You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
Here's a question, did your se come with standard speakers? Or the infinity premium ones?
I️ have a 2014 Sonata and I get complaints about my music with just the factory speakers. I️ want to try this!! Do you have a tutorial on replacing the tweeters in the dash??
No sorry I do not. I no longer own the car so I can not do a video on that. I found the tweeters on the dash to be the only decent speakers in the stock set up. Thanks.
Absolutely. Great advice. I will look into the low profile all seasons.
So if the magnet on the door speaker is big the window won't go down because its blocking it? Or does the speaker never touch the window if it's too deep?
did you diconnect the battery firts before disconnecting the speaker ?
Please do a video on how to replace the right passenger door belt weather strip!?
I unfortunately no longer own this car so I can not do a video on that. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
My driver side window switch broke . It still works it's just a floppy button for driver window . Do I need to remove the whole door panel or can I just pop it out from the panel ? Thanks !
Unfortunately you will have to remove the door panel. Here is my video on how to do that: ruclips.net/video/FNSTeVYjjFo/видео.html You can see how the switch is screwed in at the 7:30 mark in the video. All the best. Thanks.
Thank you sir !
Richard, do you know the depth measurement of the new speakers or the old ones?
Depth (Approx.) : 1 11/16"
Weight (Approx.) : 1 lb. 5 oz. per speaker
Diameter (Approx.) : 6 1/2 inches
You can see all the specs here: store.sony.com/6-1-2-3-way-speakers-zid27-XSGT1638F/cat-27-catid-All-Car-Stereo-Receivers-Speakers
Here are the speakers at Amazon: amzn.to/1dN69UB
Richard Lloyd Thank you very much. Did you have much depth left before hitting the intrusion beam?
Digme Ahole I am not sure what that depth is but if you look at the video at Hyundai Sonata 2011 - 2013 Door Speaker Replacement Replacing Factory Speaker With Sony Speaker you will see my screwdriver next to the original speaker. I measured that screwdriver and to where it reaches the bottom of the mating surface of the speaker and that was 3.5 inches. Note that the magnet is quite small on that speaker. Thanks.
Richard Lloyd Thank you. you have been a tremendous help! subscribed.
Digme Ahole You are most welcome. Thanks for subscribing and watching.
Nicely done 👌
I am glad to know I could help you. Thank you for watching, commenting and the kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Did you call Hyundai to make sure that you have the remainder of the warranty on your CPO? I did. The dealer told me I had till 60,000 but I looked into it and I actually was supposed to have warranty to 100,000 miles because it was CPO. When you call Hyundai make sure you get the name and case number for your records.
do you happen to remember what size driver you used to remove the screws on the speaker? Are the rear speakers rivoted? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for adding in the bit on speaker polarity.
You are welcome. It's important to get the polarity right. Thanks.
+Richard Lloyd thank you!
any suggestion on what to do with all the wiring so it's not just hanging around?
You could use zip ties to secure it here are some at Amazon: amzn.to/2bYyRLG make sure that nothing comes close to touching the speaker cones as they do move and you don't want anything rattling against them. Thanks.
Hi Richard, Infinity speakers comes with Sonata 2013?. I want to upgrade with infinity GPS but I dont know if my car comes with the infinity system
Thanks
I no longer own the car and did not service those speakers so I can't
speak from experience if the cables are not compatible I am sure there
are adapter kits or if you have a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing
you you could just cut the leads and solder them together (make sure you
get the polarity correct). Here is the instruction manual on those
speakers www.hsguide.net/speakers_repair_procedures-479.html Look
pretty straight forward.
Thanks
No I don't have the Infiniti package, is it difficult to add the subwoofer
Jaime Ortiz Hard to say. Here is the service manual and the speaker repair page www.hsguide.net/speakers_repair_procedures-479.html
this actually helped a lot thanks for the info.
Jaime Ortiz You are most welcome. Thanks for asking and watching.
I used a hot glue gun and standard hot glue on the speaker. To this day it is working great. Thanks for watching.
What size are the tweeters in the front dash ?
JewReviewsphyche They are louder than the generic stock speakers. The slot in the rear is for the premium Infinity sound systems sub-woofer. Thanks
my gls model doesn't have that intalled, but good too know, and i shall definitely install some new speakers
JewReviewsphyche Tell us what you think after the upgrade. Make sure you get the polarity right.
Great info THANKS
What glue did you use, silicone?
Do you have the infinity system? Thanks.
+Richard Lloyd what ever comes factory for 2011 Hyundai sonata SE 2.0 that's why I have.
Thanks.
+Richard Lloyd I'd love to have this exact same mod / upgrade done to my 2012 Sonata. Location?
Thank you, 👍👍
nice work!
Thank you very much.
i dont know if your still responding to questions, but im tryna add an amp and an 8 inch to the slot in the back. am i going to have to re wire every speaker in my car to the amp. because there is no spot in the back of the stereo toconnect the auxillary plugs for the amp. and if i connect the converting kit then thatwould take power from the speakers and they wont sound right?
+stretch323232 Thanks for the great feed back.
i just finnished putting it in a couple minutes ago and i can see what you mean by it vibrating alot
Richard Lloyd no problem
Is this the same as a 2015 sonata??
I don't own the 2015 Sonata so I can't confirm that it is the same. Thanks.
Junior Garcia the 2015 has 6.75 speakers
Great video. thank you. to answer the question about "Ohms" automotive audio uses 4 homs and residential audio uses 8 homs. that's just the way it is. . . . i think the reason is the voltage automotive stuff uses 12 volts and residential uses 110/120 volts (U.S)
you were suposed to do a sound test before (old speakers) and after (new ones) so we can hear if there is a significant differance in sound quality
Why did he use wires on the new speaker if all that needs to be done is installing/replacing the speaker itself?
What color are the wires
The wires are white and brown. You can see them at 1:03 on the video. Thanks
SparkyBC Thanks Sparky. The audio quality is night and day better with the new speakers.
Looks like that speaker size is 6.75/6 ³/4
but..... why you not show how to door open !! please
Sorry, I did not think of it when I was doing it. I was only showing how to get the door speakers. Thanks.
Richard Lloyd Thanks I went out a bought a meter, and the color codes are wrong you are correct. You are the man!
Matthew Monahan You're welcome. Thanks for confirming my information and watching.
Why replace them there fine.
The
Nice job man....
great info thank you
You are most welcome. Thank you for watching, commenting and the kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
