- Analog Horror, Mascot Horror and ARG's have really became the three tentpoles of indie horror games and RUclips horror shorts. Starting all the way back with veterans like Local 58 and FNaF, the fresh take on the horror genre garnered a massive following...
So massive in fact that within a crowded market, public opinion shifted. Well loved projects such as The Mandela catalogue and even Five nights at freddy's itself began to become the subject of critique and fatigue.
But is Analog and Mascot Horror actually cringe? Is Analog horror oversaturated?

This is a very well done video essay, and I'm kinda shocked that it doesn't have more views, even though I just came from your sdv video. Your cadence is very well suitied to this and if you ever release longer videos I'd love to hear you talk more in depth about your opinions.

My biggest issue with almost all analog horror is that the creators never seem to be able to restrain themselves in the scope. So what starts out a weird, creepy or unsettling premise ends up bloated, convoluted or non-sensical.
