I once saw a show in the sixties where Cream and the Who played as the opening acts for Mitch. Well the British guys went to school on Mitch and really got a taste of what American music was all about as he went into his 2nd or 3rd tune many girls rushed the stage which brought an end to the show and sent about 20 of them off to the hospital. I'm sure that he still got paid. He's even better now.
I've absolutely adored this tune for over thirty years, it makes my soul groove and my eyes never stay quite dry after listening to it... Thank you Mitch...
I love MITCH RYDER and have met him many times. Wilson Owens (drums) was a good friend of mine & would get me backstage often. I don't know why the Detroit radio stations won't play him. He has some awesome albums that he wrote most of the songs on that you never hear on the radio. This song is one of them. T Kinks Heiss
Blues-Rock fusion, with a surreal, dreamy feel, great lead's x 2, their band stuff is up there with the Pink Floyd sound. Great sound recording for a concert.
Guy playing the strat reminds me of Rory in tone and style. Nice to see him wear his influences so well. Very intense song, btw. Les Paul player is incredible at building tension. And mitch, wow.
I keep on telling people that I saw this Mythical show. 1) The Who 2) Wilson Pickett 3) Mitch Ryder and Detroit. 4) Final act --- Cream. I hate to say this but.....those were great days my friend.
Im please someone put this live number on ,Frezzen in hell .This song was part of Mitch Ryder's comeback album, How I spent my Vacation released around 79. This live performance was held in Germany in 2004 with the band Engerling.Kinda scary ain't it how much power the old man still has when he belts the BLUES? Rock on.
Wonderful story about the origin of this song. Please buy and read his latest book. "Devils & Blue Dresses". Way to keep rockin' Mitch and much love from the D.
I used a sample of ''If you need the pain''some time ago to a Don Imus political cartoon I created for the moment to point to the hypocrisy of the actions of Jackson and Sharpton to the word of Jesus.

Gisèle Léa LEIBOVITCH I've heard there is a remix from the LP, of the tune from a company Hqaudioproductions. But that's just a rumor.

Who is the Gibson-Player?
The late great Robert Gillespie, one of Detroits finest.
I wasn't expecting much from this , but it's great. The guitar is superb.
Great sound on this post! And a performance of great soul.
Damn ! This guy has still got it ! I can't believe he's still doing shows. So much the better for us all. Is there a DVD or such of this show ?

Detroiter Robert Gillespie is the 2nd guitarist on the Les Paul. He passed away a few months ago. He's a darn good guitarist.
