BR540 will never be in my budget, unless it’s my “one and only” scent. I’m a lowly Federal employee, so similar scents do just fine for me. I have Cloud and love it. Federal employee here too! You might consider trying the dupe she talked about from Dossier. I have it and I’m obsessed!! I don’t think I can stomach spending $300+ for a perfume I know I’ll fly through. I’ve been through about 3 bottles of the dupe already 🤣
Zara red temptation is a spot on dupe for $30.00 and lasts longer its incredible. I wear it with the real thing to increase longevity. Best, cheapest dupe out there! Dossier is more expensive than zara and doesn't last as long. Go for zara!
At first, I loved BR 540 more than cloud...but after a while, I smelled the "bandaid" note. I much prefer Cloud 2.0 over Bacarat now, which is MUCH easier on my bank account. lol
I can't believe i was so late to baccarat. I've smelt cloud and burberry her, didn't like either so I assumed I wouldn't like baccarat but oh my god. I get the hype. I could live with just this perfume and nothing else
I think another great recommendation (not a dupe by any means) if you like Baccarat is Jo Malone’s Poppy and Barley. It’s such a beautiful, airy scent. I have no idea how to describe it, it’s sort of fresh and creamy. You need to just smell it in store and you’ll see what I’m talking about! I get so many compliments on this fragrance and it’s definitely a runner up to my BR540.
P.S. You have turned me into a perfume junkie though I can only afford travel sizes I am grateful that I can get those. Often those tiny bottles are just darling. Thanks for the inspiration. I smell good all the time now. Waiting for my Donna Born in Roma which is coming tomorrow.
i love baccarat and cloud. the one of those i like the most are Dream Moon by Pacifica. It smells even sweeter than cloud, without that burning plastic smell.
I finally sampled BR 540 and it’s sooo strange in a weird/good way. I’m anosmic to it when I try to smell it on my skin but then I randomly get whiffs of it. It’s almost like it surrounds me with a glorious scent cloud but can’t pinpoint where it’s coming from…
I have the same reaction to the Dossier dupe (Ambery Saffron). I thought I had Covid at first because I was spraying it on myself but couldn’t smell it, lol.
I have a big Cloud, a little Cheirosa 68 and a tiny decant of Instant Crush and i love them all! (Also you are really good at describing them!) I got a little decant of BR540 coming on the mail and I'm really excited to finally be able to smell it, but it sounds like I'm gonna love it!! I'll be on the lookout for some of the other fragrances you mentioned here!
I've smelled "impressions" of BR540 but never the real thing. I'm not sure the scent profile is something I'd pay that price for - but never say never. Lauren, I really, really enjoy your scent videos. Thanks for doing them.
Someday I'll actually smell BR540, but I refuse to pay an inordinate amount for a tiny sample. At some point I will be somewhere that carries the line and will be able to test it out.
I agree 100% about Ariana Cloud. I wear it a lot, and agree that it's definitely not an exact dupe for BR 540. I think the sweet notes are very similar, but it lacks the woodiness and amber of 540. I love it, though. It's a very enjoyable perfume, and one that is appropriate for almost any situation. Like, I wouldn't wear 540 to my teaching job, but I wear Cloud all the time.
I love my BR 540. I got a sample of Minuit de Demi and found it really Carmel and dense gourmand, I don’t pick up a lot of the notes, mostly just sweet Carmel. I just placed an order for saint julep- you sold me!! ☺️

I have on both extrait and cloud and the dry down is literally the same. I get the same amount of compliments on both. However, my vet went out of his way to call me the day after my cats appt to ask what fragrance I was wearing the day before because he would like to buy some for his wife. It was Cloud.
that's so good to know. I ordered a bottle because I thought it was so beautiful. I can't wait to try it! I tried Bacarat and didn't smell the latex/bandaid note...then a couple days later I sprayed it on and had to scrub it off because it was straight up medicinal. :S
I ordered the Sol De Janeiro Cheriosa 68 the second it came out, because I love Sol De Janeiro. The comparisons between it and BR540 hadn't been made yet. I remember spritzing it for the first time expecting something sweet and airy and a bit watery and was really disappointed. I found it to be musty almost wet cement, damp air conditioner that needs to be cleaned. Just interesting how some people describe sweet and airy much differently than others.
Yes I agree! I was so surprised since I loved their vanilla plum scent chierosa 40 and Chierosa 62 is my all time favorite. I was expecting something totally different with Beija Flor and find it to be kinda heavy and very sensual (almost old lady). I am finishing the cream because I like how it hydrated my skin but don’t think I will repurchase. It’s not for me. I’ve tried smelling BR540 and despise it actually 😂 still watched the video though!!

Did you see that Bath and Body works are using a technology called Phytogaia that is the feeling of being outdoors. It’s supposed to be the molecules that trees emit or something to that effect. Only on certain candles. I joined Scentbird and my first scent was Electric Wood and I can’t stop spraying it on me!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the recc. 👊🏻👊🏻 Love these videos!!!! I’ll probably switch to the, is it Royal Perfume subscription? Be of course I didn’t look before I joined but the Royal has more scents that I really, really want to try.
I loved BR540 so much (and still do) but man, once people pointed out the latex smell it’s all I can smell for hours until it’s been on me for like 6hrs. I have Cloud and love it, but the longevity is not there. I have ordered Instant Crush hoping that it’ll bring the saffron and Amber that BR540 has, but brings some sweetness and longevity!
I really want to smell baccarat! I usually love a lot of the same Perfumes as you! I’ve been really enjoying the Skylar club perfume this month (summer boardwalk) it’s sweet and cotton candy and vanilla and makes me feel playful and has a sort of sweet sexy feeling to me. Hubby loves it too! If you get a chance to smell it, I’d definitely recommend!
I’ve never smelt BR540 but I do own All Saints Sunset Riot. It’s one of my favourite date night fragrances and makes me feel confident and sexy!! ☺️🙈🤣 I didn’t realise it was considered a dupe. I’m not a big fan of sugary or amber scents and bought SR because of a free sample with an order from somewhere and fell in love with it. Not sure if I’d like BR540 if it’s on the sweet side but I think I need to hunt down a sample now….
I was just at GAP and they have a NEW TO ME fragrance called Jasmin Woods, worth a sniff if you like this fragrance demographic. I put it on and smelled it all day and I had to return the next day to the store to purchase it.
I actually don't really like the EDP at all, but the Extrait I could bathe in. ugh its just so good - probably my most used perfume which is unfortunate cause its like 400 bucks lol
I tried Dime 7 Summers and its like a coconut version on BR540. It didn't hit me until I smelled my clothes thr next day that it had a Baccarat feel to it.
Baccarat is my absolute fav scent and it doesn’t last on me either 😅 I’d def like to try the dossier dupe. Cloud and the Sol De Janeiro one are other faves! Get zara red temptation it lasts the longest, longer than br540 and is $29.00 the dossier dupe doesn't last and is twice the price of zaras. What a joke. When I layer red temptation and br540 it's allll day
I have ALT. Fragrances version crystal 23. Found it cloying at first but it has grown on me and since I only got the pocket spray but it’s become the one I want to eat the most
Why does autocorrect change words on me so much? I want to wear the ALT version inspired by baccarat all the time. Luckily 2 sprays last a day or longer on clothes. It lasts forever without being too much
I’m one of those that was super disappointed when I smelled BR540. I got a little sample for $25 and was upset I wasted my money 😂 I didn’t smell any sweetness or cotton candy but I tried it on my skin to give it a good go and could not get rid of the smell for two days! It definitely has amazing staying power! I do like Sol de Janiero’s version better but I find it to be very heavy. I love their original Chierosa 62 and usually go for more light gourmand and fresh aquatic/ fruity scents so maybe that’s why I thought Beija Flor and the like smell “heavy.” Like to me that’s a winter scent. I do enjoy YSL black opium in the fall/winter but again feel like it’s too “heavy” for summer. I’m trying to expand my fragrance tastes but was super surprised at my reaction to BR540

Random off-topic question - literally just five minutes ago smelled Treehouse Royal by Pinrose for the first time and instantly thought of you since it’s a figgy scent… Have you tried it? Smells simultaneously spicy and fresh to me but there’s also a touch of something that’s a bit off. My sample was a sachet though so hoping for a review from the bottle. No worries if you haven’t tried it though. Just happened to be thinking of you when this notification popped up! 💖💖💖
I haven’t smelled Treehouse Royal yet!! I had a sampler set but it didn’t include that one!! I definitely want to smell it though!! I live fig and looking at all the other notes it sounds like something I might like!! 😊❤️😊

Here I am every Sunday even though I don't buy perfume. I'm a has 1000 samples from Sephora as my collection person. Hey I have some pretty luxury fragrances like louboutin, givenchy, Prada, etc they're just in baby spray bottles with like 3 uses each in them. 😂😂😂😂
funny story about BR540: i had just sprayed it on my wrists and then was petting my sister's dog hallie on the head and 2 weeks later she texted me saying that hallie's head still smelled like BR540 hehhehehehe
After talking through the notes now I know why I like Oriana from Perfume De Marley. Top notes are Mandarin Orange, Bergamot and Grapefruit; middle notes are Orange Blossom, Raspberry and Black Currant; base notes are Whipped cream, Marshamallow, Musk and Ambrette (Musk Mallow). Its yummy and not a dupe but definitely a tie!
Nope nope nope cloud is an insult to the master of this perfume it doesn't even come close. Instant crush is a much more stronger version of the extrait.
btw, sol de janeiro uses portuguese names (instead of Spanish) so its bei-ja-flor, not bei-ha-flor the 'ja' would be the same as the one in 'january'! it truly irks me, as someone who has spoken Portuguese their entire lives, to see it read as Spanish........

It’s the Ambroxan that gives those otherwise dissimilar perfumes baccarat vibes. Baccarat is an ambroxan bomb
