      Spinelli Teleski I’m taught by my elder transgender sister witch now calls her a boy, it all started at a party when I was 9. Everyone was outside, I was talking to him, then the topic of paganism came up, he asked why I’m so interested into it, “well, I just am, I really don’t know why” he decided that he’ll teach me and he did a reading on me using runes, he was proud of himself. That started my journey on paganism.

    Good herbs to have for beginners in my opinion:
    - sage
    - mugwort
    - rosemary
    - lavender
    - basil
    - mint
    - spearmint
    - cinnamon
    - cinnamon sticks

    I learned something very profound recently. Well I think it's profound. That spells, altars and magick are as personal as your beliefs. I suddenly had this epiphony that I can actually create my own spells from scratch. I wanted to cry, it was such a discovery. I don't have to buy other peoples spells or supplies. I can make my own. I have the entire RUclips witch community to thank for that. I feel like I'm really starting to understand what it's about. It's not something you teach. You sort of have to learn on your own what really works for YOU. I'm getting excited now about this.

    • @MamaSquirrelsWitchyWisdom
      @MamaSquirrelsWitchyWisdom  6 лет назад +14

      Yay! Absolutely! That is what it's all about! So happy! When that finally happens for you, it's like the greatest confidence boost in the world! No one can tell you you're wrong anymore! And, you know what? You're not wrong cause it works for you and if there's a witch out there telling you otherwise? Usually they are insecure about their own shit! 😜 Congratulations sister and I would do a rededication ritual if I were you but... only if it feels right for you! 😁🤗 Blessed Be! 💙💜🖤🧡

    one of the benefits of living in the PNW is the sheer abundance of nature all around me. my house is in a neighborhood yet there is still some wooded area that i could go, as well as a small beach right in my backyard. lavender is also one of the biggest crops in washington state so it grows pretty well here naturally. i am just starting to get into witchcraft and im so lucky to have so many resources right in my own yard!

    I love the idea of the simplest most natural things representing your elements- like a cup/bowl of water, dirt, feather, and candle, let's say... Or even those lava stones you mentioned for fire. Or sulfer, or even a bunt wooden match. When it comes to say your bowl of dirt I think that you can make it meaningful buy getting it from your yard/home or a place that's meaningful. If you are interested in talking to spirits or the mysteries of life and death, maybe a spoonful from a cemetery, or if you love the beach, beach sand or if you played in a parking lot as a kid, maybe you can go back and find some rocks from there. Its not necessary but it might help some to feel a personal connection to the element...

There was inscense, candles hockey stick helmets. I’d listen to the game in the dark with the candles on. Now my shrine is a memorial shrine towards my parents as showing that they are the foundation. I’m surprised my cats do not touch the shrines. Lucky huh

It is SO refreshing to find someone who is saying otherwise!! As someone in the craft for more years that I care to admit, this is truly very very nice and I couldnt agree more when speaking to a newer crowd.. You have the same views as me regarding witchcraft, and that’s pretty fuckin cool. I’ve always made my own spells and found my own cheap materials. Sometimes I’ll read other people’s spells for inspiration, but I never follow anything exactly. It annoys me to go into a spell’s comment section and see questions about substitutions-of course you can do it! Witchcraft doesn’t require precision; it requires heart.

Hem incense is amazing and comes in MANY varieties( Black Magick, fairy dreams, saffron, pagan Magick, clove , blessings, healing are some of my favorites)Satya nag champa, super hit, patchouli forest, midnight, are fantastic- they burn a long time. Nadia at Lady James Bewitchery makes fabulous incense- Morrigan and Witches Apple are my faves. The Dipper is also a great place for incense. Just a few of my favorite incense. Great video. Everything you need can really be found in nature or made. Many blessings

    I found you through Jennifer Ball's Spiritual Garage. Lots of great information here. Love your chicken feathers. I went on etsy and found a lady that collects the naturally shed feathers from her pet chickens, cleans and sells them. I bought some beautiful ones for my altar.

    I've found this video and you seem so wise and nice to me!
    Even though I already knew most of these things I have to admit that sometimes it's hard for me to integrate basic natural ingredients for my spellwork so you inspire me to keep on trying. I found my path as a witch one year ago and I already moved to a great city so it's not easy sometimes. So there's the struggle of enjoying and living nature but having and wanting to live in the big city. At least I feel successful with my divination skills and that's a motivating factor. So I keep working on it! Thank you for your videos!

    • @MamaSquirrelsWitchyWisdom
      @MamaSquirrelsWitchyWisdom  6 лет назад +1

      So glad to have you watching! I have been a witch for over 10 years now and I am still learning new things every day! Absolutely, it is hard to keep a balance with nature in a big city but it sounds like you are aware of trying to keep the balance and that's half the battle! Please let me know if there is anything you'd like to see on this channel and so many blessings to you!

    • @EsperElves
      @EsperElves 6 лет назад

      Thanks, be blessed too!
      I will look up your other videos step by step. It's like I want to know everything but I realized that it takes you backwards when you are trying too many things at once, especially at a fast pace. Witchcraft is an old and traditional way which takes a lot of time and the learning process never ends, just like you said.
      I don't know if you made a video about your first years as a witch but I would find that to be very inspiring!
      I wish I'd know other witches who live nearby for sharing experiences but I'm grateful for the communication here at RUclips. So thanks to you!

    I hope you read this!!! I have always been drawn to the idea of being a witch and I feel as though that the older I get the more I am drawn to it. I cant ignore it anymore. I just wish I could have some guidance and some help to breakdown exacly what I may need or even what area of witchcraft I'm wanting to do. Thank you for all the info!!!

    So glad I found your channel. I started with the craft a few years ago but I strayed after a period of depression. It feels so good to be back and although I’m relatively new, I’m still confident that I have a calling even though it’s late in my life. Thank you for this wonderful informative video. I’m a new subscriber and I look forward to seeing your videos. Just one thing, I’m not into writing, I have a book of shadows but I very rarely write in it. Just doesn’t resonate with me. Is that ok? Please help. Thanks and blessed be!

    Don't feel bad about having a tough time with Lavender - it's hard to get many seeds to germinate and can be temperamental under the best conditions. It does like alkaline soil, so use a bit of horticultural lime if you're east of the Miss'i

    I’m late to the party but yes lavender doesn’t like a lot of water. It is drought tolerant and loves the sun.
    Do not over water it and it will really expand and bloom and you won’t be able to keep up. (Water it every now and then. I hardly ever water mine.) Does fine in a pot too.
    And lavender attracts bees and butterflies too which is just a bonus!
