@@TechReview2000 all the parts are on the vessel, there is physically nothing that i can do. i want my parts more than anything if there was a way to get the parts quicker i would do it
Hey Kevin, this is probably my first comment on one of your videos, but I felt I could help shed some light on the speed of this kind of boat. This propulsion system is called an "Arneson Drive" It is almost half prop, half fan. It is designed to only be partially submerged while running, causing high-speed cavitation which acts almost like a jet. It looks like the boat is "chugging" while you drive it at the start. You might have the props down too far into the water. When going fast only the last inches of the boat hull are making contact with the water. Take a ruler and line it up with the prop and hold it flat against the hull. The prop should just barely be dipping into the path of the ruler. When properly trimmed this boat will make a 15-foot tall rooster tail, as it's designed that way. Cheers!
Sorry, these are NOT Arneson Drives. Arneson drives steer as well, no rudder, the whole drive units (shafts and props) move left to right to steer. This has a regular rudder with fixed drive shafts, if anything, this is a Fabio Buzzi Drive set up. And they are called Surface Piercing drives, as only about half the propeller is under water when running on plane, definitely has nothing to do with a fan, lol.
You need to make sure the drivelines are extremely smooth, no vibration or binding, balanced props, and you'll have to adjust the outdrives. Even just 1 degree of angle change will make a massive difference. Looks like it's running pretty wet out of the box for more stability. Getting 110 out of that boat is possible, but it's going to take a lot of patience.
Awesome 👌. On that old land rover, its old enough it should have a mesh adjustment on the steering block you could tighten up and remove that slop in the steering wheel 😀 I used to do it all the time on my old trucks 🚚
Nice video Kev. You may have watched my video of Zonda on here hitting 113mph and now up to 123.6mph all stock with only a prop swap on 6s. The Zonda will easily go over 100mph but it needs aftermarket props to hit this speed. Box stock on the raw stock props it does 55-60mph. Also you need to put floatation on the bottom of your hatch or you will lose it when it comes off in a high speed crash. Trust me it will come off LOL! Thanks for putting out all the great content. And if you want to get your boat to 100mph+ hit me up 😎
Awesome video Kev. Please don’t forget to lubricate the shafts with marine grease every 1-2 runs. Its crucial to maintain the longevity of the rc boat. I really hope you read this comment. Thanks
This boat looks absolutely epic!!!! You guys are absolutely crazy together!!! When Stenpy pulled out the arm floats 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and its a Boat Bouncer!!! awesome video again. Can’t wait for part 2!!! 👊👊👍👍
These TFL twin motor cats are amazing, I have been looking at them for a while, and I am going to get one for next summer. With the counter rotating motors/props, you get a very stable boat.
Just when I thought you could not get funnier or better. Bam get a boat get your mate Stemp and here you go the new funniest video on RUclips. Farts and all. Stemp is the friend we all need in our life funny as hell. Kevin thanks for the laugh. Because remember its only a toy.
RC boats have become so badass but I just can’t justify buying one. Already have a pool, motorcycle, mad RC cars, hot Rod truck and a wife. One of those has to go first lmao.
It's all above the drivetrain and the props. Your endpoints are perfect, more rpm and your Motors will blow up. Just screw your powertrims higher by about 1°, then try again- cause it's running wet out of the box, that causes more drag... Also, if your Motors and ESCs are not to hot, you could try bigger props, or with higher pitch. Easiest for you, cause you don't need to balance them, is to buy a couple of the TFL aluminium props, they are good and cheap for testing.
Get the traxxas catamaran. It probably does at least somewhere close to the claimed 100 edit: I just realized you already did. Also why did this comment get 6 likes???? Another edit: oh it claims 50mph I thought it was 100
I love how scared kevintalbot was when the got close to the swans and the lighting started. Especially at the end when he said "we didn't catch it on camera but it was fundering and lightning and it was close!!"😂😂😂
Yeah that’s what I was thinking they literally put themselves in more danger by wasting time blowing up all those Floaties and getting caught out in the storm then if they would’ve just went right out there immediately and made it back before the storm
Either the endpoints (doubtful) or you need higher pitch propellers(deeper pitch propellers are a guaranteed easier way to go faster!). Also, you can go with a slightly larger propeller than the ones you have now or even more fins(example, looks like you have a 3 blade propeller-go with a deep 4 blade) larger here doesn't always mean better when it Comes to propeller size.. You need to remember heat from the motors. Larger size props = faster acceleration but not really higher speed. Good luck Kevin!
Oh kiss that gopro and the gps goodbye the first time it flips/rolls. The learning curve for the 203mph project will seem easy in comparison to the learning curve on this boat, key thing to remember there's no brakes to slow it down......Looks nice boat though. Oh I'm at 9:14! Can't run a Cat over a wake that big!
Great boat :) Always fun with you guys. Kev, one thing I've seen you doing over and over is cutting both battery cables at the one time. Unless you have plastic or nylon cutters you're making a dead short in the batteries, for a fraction of a second. That can't be good :/ Keep up the great work!!!
I was expecting by the time you reach shore, sun would come out again....for 10 mins and then..RAIN AGAIN! AGHH! The wonderful British weather..............!
You guys need to experience jet boats first hand. I think Kevin needs to link up with Cleetus Mcfarland, and work it out. What a colab that would be!!!!
Kev your boat videos are actually hilarious 🤣 both now have given me a cramp from laughing so hard. Stempy and yourself are so funny together keep it going pal 👍🏻great times
they’re not lying about dry running the outboard, it has a little plastic impeller in the bottom end that pumps water for cooling the engine and you will prematurely wear out the impeller after awhile and cause the motor to overheat.. but i dont think a short start is really much to worry about like you did in the video
Kev, you gotta try the proboat sonicwake! 6s power with self righting you can just run it balls to the wall "flat-out" non stop! It's an epic boat for sure!
Hello, what is the range on that boat? I fish from the beach, maybe I can hook my line to your boat and hope the boat can take the bait out offshore to about 1000 meters.
I love your videos... I'm new in the rc world it keeps my anxiety down.. I just wish I could afford rc cars like yours .. my rc car only does 25 mph. Lol. You are so great.
I have made it a top bucket list item to travel there and meet everyone. This guy is top of the list! He absolutely kills me!! I'm thinking RC and a cold 🍺!! Then we hit the saftey equipment 🤣🤣😂😂
Hey kev. No expert but I know your not supposed to run outboards without water long. The poly water pump impeller spins very fast and can easily melt to the wall without lube/coolant
The hull inside is a carbon-kevlar mesh. Its a combo of carbon fiber and kevlar in a mesh and then epoxy resin applied like regular FG or CF. Its supposed to give you the benefits of each materials using this

That Honda outboard is air-cooled, so you can run it out of the water to your heart's content!
Not without wind you can't!
Blake Huffman it creates its own wind I'd imagine, with a cooling fan on the flywheel. Otherwise it'd definitely overheat with that cowling on it.
@@camyota Older ones didn’t have cooling fins, perhaps newer ones are different, not sure.
@@BlakeH97 yes u can
