- Cargolux Airlines takes delivery of the first 747-8 Freighter, Boeing's largest-ever airplane, and puts it to work right away. Watch as the Luxembourg-based carrier pack the jumbo jet with cargo for its first revenue flight.
I love the 74-8...especially in that livery and especially in the Freight version...
just another wonderful piece of engineering from the gods at Boeing...
That is one huge aircraft. A plane on the ground makes no money. Keep that thing in the air! Wicked awesome.
Awesome! I can't WAIT to fly on the 747-8 passenger version!!!
unbeliveable airplane. thanks to boeing, seattle and U.S. greetings from Zagreb, Croatia.
I love the look of the 747 with its new lush wings.meanwhile in France the abirbus a380 wings are crackin.airbus
Nice, but I prefer the 747-400 in terms of looks :3
I can attest to the fuel savings. The average fuel loads that we had to put on the 400s for the flight from yyc to lux, was 98-110 tons. The new with the new 8fs the highest I had to put on so far was 97.2 tons of go juice. averaging from 89-92 tons. Pretty significant if you ask me.
I`ve seen her yesterday at Luxembourg Airport.... Wonderful plane !!!
Awesome! Glad to see more 747's in the air.
A whole new era for the 747 begins. Awesome.
WoW... Boing and airbus are really great, they always surprise by developing something bigger and better from time to time...
Wow, revenue service on delivery day?! First time I heard about his.
Epic!
hermoso avion
vamos boeing
I did like the a380 now I like the boeing more than Airbus Boeing is cooler and the 747 is the fastest plane is in it's size
Capt. Funk... Awesome.
Boeing rocks :P
This beast has already been to Budapest twice :))
amazing!! the Boeing best aircraft
Badass. The Queen of the Skies gets better!
they loaded my dream car onto that plane !!! :-)
Boeing I have been to boing field when 2 C130s where circling over head, one of them was the blue angles Fat Albert
I hope the 747-8 fly's into DFW!
Way to go!
@garysungkw, yes. The wing design is similar to that of the 787 Dreamliner. If you look closely on the experimental version shown in the clip, you'll see it.
@Ashrak2002
No that's wrong.
You mean the max. take-off weight, which is about 1 million pounds/450 tons (Antonov 600 tons)
The max. payload capacitiy is 140 tons. (Antonov 250 tons)
Are they using a "NEW" designed wing on 747-8? But I can't see any "Curve" on the new Cargolux 747-8.
amazing bird
Nice wave paint..
@saintsouleyman I think that's a perfectly reasonable name for a cargo company based in Luxembourg. :S
just look at complication when loading it, i mean they could learn something from antonov
@Acduche130 what complication?...both require a k loader...whether or not you have to raise the k loader takes and extra 5 seconds of time...big deal
Candidate KC-Y tanker: Twin engine (GE-90/PW4000 series engines) 747-8 freighter with extended upper deck, shortened empennage (747SP length) to lighten airframe, with KC-46A tanker facilities installed. Install winglets for increased efficiency and reduced turbulence to facilitate outboard refueling aircraft at refueling pods located at the previous outboard engine wing stations. Cargo in the bottom, PAX on the top with fighters in echelon formation crossing the ocean to the FOB.
