I always marvel at (once they're up to pressure) how quick a steam vehicle can be, off the line! Beautiful footage, thanks very much for sharing it. I've never seen anything like these in person, they aren't too common across the pond here.
To anyone sitting on the fence in regards to supporting John on patreon, Ive been happily supporting him since he started his patreon page. The quality and the amount of content he makes available cant be beaten. Id highly recommend doing it because you really are getting value for money, especially compared to other larger youtubers.
Amazing how fast the steam wagons are and how quick they build up speed ❤️❤️❤️ Bring back the power of steam and stop the electric shite, steam has an awesome sound from the engine 👍👍👍👍
Some great footage of some beautiful machines John I think I mentioned this before some time ago , this type of footage would really be complimented by a voice over from yourself
Great video! I used to be a student up in Durham, so I recognised the Prince Bishops shopping centre instantly after the traffic light Grand Prix 😂. Could be wrong, but thought it looked like you went through Hartlepool and Seaham too? Was a long time ago since I lived up there, so may by mistaken. Brings back memories.
The driver of the red truck reminds me of all the teenagers around who like to ne the first off the line at traffic lights. I agree with another poster that those trucks are surprisingly quick.
John, could I please ask why he dropped the fire at the end of the posting. with steam wagons do they have to keep them loaded up to the finish line them drop them instead of running them down towards the end....
@@user-mp8uy4mg9j The Trains are even more awesome, massive machines all built from iron-ore out of the ground, every single piece, to make a massive powerful machine that runs steam.

Yup, nice view along Roker seafront too. We've stayed on the temporary campsite next to Morrison's a few times, but heard it flooded badly last week ?

Fortunately your slip up on the timing didn't confuse me at all. 1923 Give Away 13.

Looks like there was loads of clinker blocking the airflow through the grate.
@@FrontSideBus yeah, looking at it again i think you could be onto something there....
