This is the best roof repair video I've seen. Nothing is worst that seeing rain water drip into your new house or business because the roofer botched the roof install. This guy knows how to fix the mistakes permenantly! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for helping me fix my incorrectly installed metal roof on my mobile home. It's been leaking ever since I bought it and cannot afford 20,000.00 to replace it. After watching your easy videos I have fixed most of them myself with a fraction of the cost. I really appreciate your knowledge.
For a 30 x 60 metal building that is approximately 38 years old, would you recommend just fixing the leaks or replacing all the roofing screws with the next larger size? Thank you.
Do you think a standing seam metal roof is worth the cost? Also if I'm 1.2 miles from the ocean, do I need to use aluminum material if I install metal?
Great video identifying the leaks by looking for traces of rust or dirt stains. Turbo polyseal spreads well and goes quite a bit, no need to lugging around a gallon tin ;)
@@FlatRoofDoctor it's good stuff. Too bad it's not available in my country. The closest I could match it was with Sika lastic 560 or Duram 195 here unfortunately.
Your the best my friend my flat metal roof has tar the previous owners used I got leaks still driving me crazy I wanna scream question should I grind off the tar spots they covered the roof with and do what your doing and it will seal my roof for a very long time ? Please help thank you love your channel my friend Massachusetts area
What about using integrated - "long life" - screws, where the head of the screw is one piece with the "washer" that acts as an umbrella to cover the neoprene washer underneath: is there an advantage to these integrated screws? The disadvantage is the cost, as they appear to cost more than the standard roofing screw. I'd be interested to hear your recommendation. Great video content, as usual.
I like what you are doing. I have had some BS contractors out. My dad put aluminum roofing instead of Tin and 40 yrs later it is fantastic except for…. The nails worked loose and I need to seal those holes. I hope this product works on aluminum. Thanks
Hello sir, I just watched your video I learned alot am I'm fixing to order some ( they are out of black) .. oh well, my question how long is the silicone good for( in the bucket) once you open it how long can it be stored & still be a good product to use 🇺🇲🦅🌍⚓ USMC
Some of those sheets are on backwards. You can tell by the way they're not sealing up along the edges. Also they put a lot of screws in the wrong places. The Turbo polyseal and fleece is new to me.
I have a angle grinder what size wire brush should I use to rip off the tar some morons that owned the mobile home before I bought as is ouch they nailed metal sheet they tar over the edges I was looking super close on the ladder which I hate going up I pushed with my finger water came out so water was getting under the metal sheet I ripped it off and holy under water 💧 so mad 😡 this guy is a master thumbs up
i can fix those leaks. how about the hard leaks.i have a bath vent that had to be installed right on top of two ridges ,one on each side .it leaks no matter what i put on it. can u fix that?!!!!!!
I would've replaced the roofsheet at once and use 26mm bond washers on the hex screws, I also never use pap en lap membrane. I would have used uni-flash to seal all of those areas if not replaced the roofsheet.
Hi good video Whats the name the material's for dude. Hola como se llama el material con que pintas la liking se puede comprar en home depot como se llama el material Gracias buen Video hracias por su respuesta.
I wish you would make a tidier job of painting the turbo seal, straight lines not untidy splodges. You may well be fixing the leaks but the fixes look untidy. For your screw head repairs a template of cardboard would enable all your repairs to be neat and regularly sized.
Thanks Mr Clean. If I did that all the time, the job would take much longer to get done. I agree for the video I should do that, but the I am not genuine. I want people to see how to get it done without a lot of fuss.
1. You NEVER cover a hex headed screw with fabric, this creates bridging (an air pocket and/or fish mouths) around the fastener...You must cut the cloth at the fastener for proper waterproofing! 2. You always remove old caulking and tar...NEVER cover AND ALWAYS clean the surface area! 3. Is Turbo Poly Seal a Rust Inhibitor? 4. Always a bigger diameter screw, BINGO CORRECT! 5. FOLKS, always clean the surface area a minimum of 6" beyond the repairing area. 6. The aluminum coating will crack with in 3-5 years!
I am renovating an old trailer with a metal roof. I am using a wire brush to clean the roof to bare metal then I will do as you say. Question: what if I can’t get to the hard to reach caulking? Can I just caulk over what I can? Must I remove all rust with the wire brush before repairing? Thank you
What about on a pitched tin roof with staples (2000 mobile home) ? Also what are all the products you are using? My entire roof is rusted, it has never been coated and it only just started having 2 small leaks.
the stuff he uses in this video is super expensive, 260 dollars for a gallon a roll and pint of silver lol. nah bro, not to mention you cant get in retail stores. this guy is mr. bergstromm 🤣
Who is these cats trying to tell you what to do on here? Looks over purpose, those idiots don’t understand your wasting time, and material trying to make it look good..... I highly recommend trying Polyseal 2500, 4” wide 3/4 nap roller. Dipband roll coat screws laps, etc! 😉
When making instructional videos best to assume audience knows very little. Explain to them like they are 5 years old. You start by saying don’t coat your roof. Coat with what? Presumably tar but you don’t say that. How about you come and fix my roof and I’ll teach you how to communicate properly

No fix like this is permanent. Only a new roof is semi permanent.

What paint you sir to seal the leak and the paper you also put with the paint?
This video was so good, I had to watch it again and downloaded it for reference later. Thanks again.

Sand the rust, use metal prep snd galvanizing paint, oversized screws and a dab of sealant on every screw.

What size screws do you recommend for replacing the rusted smaller screws? Thanks for this video and information.
Bigger than the one you pulled out generally if you pull out a 1/4 screw put a 5/16 back because it will bite
