Lyrics: It’s a beautiful evening here as we get ready to start the race. The drivers are at the line and it looks like we’re almost set. Racers, start your engines. Go! What's this?! A mystery car has just entered the race and he's coming from behind like a bullet! I can't slow down this time I gotta rev it up and go I gotta keep it in the lines Tonight there's blood on the road I keep the pedal down They’re gonna know how this felt No one gets in to heaven without racing through hell Eye for eye, lap for lap There's no turning back And he's caught them. That's one hell of a driver! (You’ve got to slow down) Feels like my blood is running hot (The needle’s in the red) Give me everything you got I can't escape the blood and steel A death behind the wheel! I can’t believe what I’m seeing! In a shocking turn of events the mystery car seems to be picking off each racer one by one. I wouldn’t want to be out on that track tonight. This driver is out for blood. I’m burnin’ up the road I got ‘em dead in my sight And when the rubber meets the bone There’ll be vengeance tonight Hear the crowd roar Calling for blood Begging for more (Faster) I can hear my heart beatin (Faster) Like a piston in my chest (Faster) I’m a phantom racer, justice in a steel machine of death (Faster) I’ll be right behind you (Faster) Over and over again (Faster) I was born to race (Faster) I would die to win We’re down to just two cars now! Like a man possessed he’s murdered every other racer and seems to be zeroing in on first place! The remaining car is speeding down this straight away like he’s being chased by the devil himself. In an incredible burst of speed the mystery driver has rammed the first place car from behind and seems to be pushing him forward! The lead racer is clearly slamming on the brakes, but the two of them show no signs of slowing down at all! There’s no way they can make this next turn in time, I can’t bare to watch! Out of the flames comes the mystery driver. I don’t know how he survived that horrible crash, or where he’s going to next, but I can’t help thinking there’s something strangely familiar about that car… (Faster) I can hear my heart beatin’ (Faster) Like a piston in my chest (Faster) I’m a phantom racer, justice in a steel machine of death (Faster) I’ll be right behind you (Faster) Over and over again (Faster) I was born to race (Faster) I would die to win (Faster) Yes I’m a phantom racer, inside a steel machine of death (Faster, born to race, phantom baby) And I would die to win (Faster) (Faster) I can feel my heart beating faster and faster.... (Faster)
@@TibJib9608 Yeah! I've always believed the Blues/Protoman was inspired by Fukamen Racer/Racer X as well. It's quite possible since Mega Man was highly influenced by "Casshern" which was another Tatsunoko series.
Whoa, what was that futuristic-looking Speed Racer near the end? I don't remember ever hearing about anything like that, looks like a mid 80s or 90s reboot of some kind.
Oh man, this is fantastic. Just what I needed since hearing this song for the first time 3 days ago. I knew it made me feel like either Speed Racer or Redline, but it mainly inspired me to go watch Speed Racer for a bit and introduce my son to it. You're a true legend for putting this together. I saw your link from the comments on the other upload. Thank you. Wonderful work.
Thank you. I had very similar experience. This song awoke my love for racing that I had in my childhood. From watching through all of SPEED RACER again to discovering new racing movies and anime and even the real auto-sport I'm loving it all. Again... Thank you so much for watching and your wonderful comment. I hope your son is enjoying the classic as well.
I love this song. Always fun to play it while taking the on ramp onto the highway lol But been looking for an amazing AMV to go with it. This is a great edit!
@@SonicPAJ Nah nah. Old 2012 Hyundai Elantra. Though does have one of those semi manual shifts? Automatic transmission, but can put it into drive, push the stick to the right, and up and down shift from there manually. No clutch to work or anything.
As someone who has never seen Speed Racer, I'm likely the odd one out in this crowd, as I thought this was either based on F-zero or it was an original ghost story turned song. Now that I know the actual Inspiration is a film called the wraith, I'm curious but scared to see how that movie goes. On an unrelated note, this was a pretty dang good compilation you did here, almost like the song belongs here
Thank you very much! From what little I have seen of the Wraith, it's not exactly one-to-one since the races in the film are street races instead of track races. I'll probably watch it on Oct. 31st.
Yeah, that episode actually had a phantom racer in it... I would've included a bit of "Mach Girl" which also featured a phantom racer as well but I decided against it.
Thanks for watching my AMV! The mystery footage comes from these old 90s Speed Racer Cartoon Network commercials: ruclips.net/video/3wO_BOTRcj8/видео.html

When I started to listen to the lyrics, I kept thinking about Racer X from Speed Racer. You nailed it
Thank you! I know a lot of people had Racer X come to mind which is a reason why I included him towards the end.
@@SonicPAJ Even more perfect when you realize they got The Protomen for this track...the band named after a character directly inspired by Racer X.

Great sync for video and music action, better than what I could find before.

hope we see more of these anime twrp starbomb nsp versions

Yep! That's footage from the 1997 reboot series "Mach Go Go Go RESTART" in the states known at first as "Speed Racer Y2K" and then "Speed Racer X".

this is SO well done!! i have a feeling i'll be rewatching this video a lot :0

Indeed. I always listen to it when driving home from work. I time it so the climax of the song plays when I'm "flooring" it downhill. Haha.

I'm so sad I discounted Mahha Go Go Go! (aka Speed Racer) when I was a kid. It's positively thrilling. This song is fantastic too.
