There was a recent interview with Christian where he said the season 2 soundtrack is going to be even bigger and more ambitious than season 1. I can't wait to hear it

it's funny how you would ask "why Sting?" when in all honesty I can't even think of anyone else I would like to hear sing that song. the song isn't rough, loud, gritty, or even desperate really. it soft and mournful. and even when powerful it isn't angry. it is grief stricken. I think the age and clearness in Stings voice are perfect to make the song everything it is. Tired, sad, lonely, and hopeless. I honestly cannot picture any other artist singing this song for what it is as it is.

So if you want to know more about the process of "What could have been" and more, Alex "Mako" Seaver (writter of the OST) has YT channel "wearemako", his last 2 videos are about that :)

I've heard someone say before that, Classical music like Beethoven, are the heavy metal of their era. So, the metal music of this era is actually as rich and at a level of music as orchestral music. I was blowned to realize that metal musicians are actually once music nerd who graduated from an actual Music school and majored in music. That's why their music is so high level

Ray Chen made a video on his RUclips channel talking about his music in Arcane. Definitely an interesting watch.

If you haven't already heard it, there's a recently released PVRIS song that was actually written for Arcane originally but was cut from the final version of the album. It's called "Oil & Water" and is very Cait and Vi coded lol

Source for it being written for Arcane and then cut?

@@itsgonnabeokay9341 The artist? I don't have a link or anything, but she's already on the soundtrack, in the song for the Jayce and Vi fight scene. So when Oil & Water came out, someone asked her about a connection to Arcane since that's literally the name of the episode her other song featured in and she confirmed it

@@aranthur Oh ok. I couldn't find anything in the description of the song so I wasn't sure.

2:10 i think it was Mel. Or at least she says something like "Time to prove them wrong again" to Jayce once. 🙂

I really like Mako / Alex Seaver's own vocals for "What could have been". I wish there was a full version.

One of the first times I became aware of the affects of music interacting with the events onscreen was of all places the movie 'Alien'. In one dark and suspenseful sequence they have a bass line grabbing your heartbeat. They have it rise to a peak, where you expect the thing to happen, but it backs down, then starts to rise again, reaches the peak and becks down, then rises again. Now if has trained you to expect the peak and drop. Then about 2/3 of the way to the peak the jump scare hits. Since them, basically 35 years now, I am still aware and onwatch for the interactions.

I can't quite decide why, but I feel like the temp David Bowie song that was the placeholder for "What could have been", was "Life on Mars"

This might be beneath you, but "Cell shaded music theory" made a good video about the music in Arcane. It's not something to react to, but you might enjoy it just cuz.

3:50 i feel alot of succes no matter which area of, if its music sport or whatever.
comes from when the purpose becomes so personal for you, you get obsessed with the proces.
And it becomes something like do or die trying, because failure is not n option anymore if thats all you care about and all that matters.
its like telling john wick just forget about what happened, and keep living youre life.
if youre goal is that damn personal you cant rest.
and most often thats how great art or music gets to become reality
