My second time watching, Ken. 300 hours, which means I'm dangerous. I'm trying something different, by grabbing hard drives before my starter family. And killing spiders for DNA capsules for goodies. I got silver skates and parachute as soon as i could, and building the new containers. Now, my starter factory is taking off with iron wire and stitched plates. I don't recommend this playstyle, because you die a lot, but I've got tons of later game goodies in storage containers, and since i gather herbage as I explore, I've got no problem with power. The one thing i haven't figured out is how and when to upgrade belts and miners. Thanks for the best content on YT. I love this game so much, even if it terrorizes my ADHD. lol
Yea think some version of this is good. I'd have loved Iron wire early. I do try to get stitched plates ASAP in all my playthroughs cuz I hate screws lol.
OMG my head hurts trying to keep track of what you are doing lol Brand new player. My husband bought me this for my birthday on the 13th. I have a feeling I am going to have to watch this a couple more times. Go play build come back and watch rinse and repeat. I'm really losing you on the keyboard keys. Although you are losing me a bit, this is the best video I have found so far. That helps me understand.
Ok, thanks for the feedback. I'll see if I can slow down a little more here and there. especially commands. Try watching my VODs too, there's no cuts, it may have a little more information for you.
My head hurts because of the 3D (but that is the beauty of the game!) and because I am old. I thought 3D was harder on the women; but what do I know? 🙂Good Luck!
P.S. I bought the game a long time ago and gave up (after only a couple of hours) because of the 3D (3-Dimension). I was used to Factorio which was 2D. I gave the game a second try and now I am loving it! Hope you have fun one day, too! 🙂
Try building towers to look down on everything like I was in the episode. It helps. Later you'll unlock the hover pack and things will get much easier for you as you'll be able to fly around and look down on everything.
Really loving this play through so far, being a new Satisfactory player myself. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and skills with the rest of us.
great stuff and i appreciate the way you break down the process, i have to say the first video of yours i saw was the Starwars save after its been complete and it was so incredible it really put into perspective that i about as noob as noob can be at this so seeing this new series begin was a great surprise i will be following along and learning from a master gonna be fun
Ahh, the screws, my nemesis! We worship at the altar of the hard drives that they may banish the screws from our lives, and instead bless us with the alternate recipes we love! :D
Thanks Kinstruction for showing me how to use Hologram! Really appreciate it. I thought I was subscribed since I am enjoying your content; but, I will subscribe now. Thanks again!
It's really interesting how, while in the grand scheme of things doing exactly the same things, we all develop our own little habits. For example: You always take your power cable from the pole to the machine, while I do it the other way around. It 100% does not matter in any way shape or form, but still we both do it the same way every time...
"Everything looks good :D" *power shutdown noise* "aw dangit" Too real, happens every single time Edit; "If you're playing this game you have at least some OCD" I did not need to be called out today 😅
No mention of the world grid. Don't know whether you set up your foundations using it. Myself, I am of two minds: The world grid makes it easy to connect foundations started apart, but sometimes aligning the foundations to a local cliff or something just seems to make more sense.
I did use the world grid for the copper plant, I just forgot to talk about it. If you look closely you should be able to see my holding control. For the iron plant, I oriented them perpendicular to the cliff. I should have mentioned it.
I do something a bit different. I stack the containers. The top container is leaves, the bottom wood; like the leaves and trunk of a tree. Easy to remember.
Good. I'm glad you're enjoying it. It was surprisingly difficult to get everything correct since capture cards and youtube and OBS all are default 16:9. But I got there and I think it gives me a unique look.
Sometimes I wonder why you make your factories so tight. It seems to make it very hard to navigate though the (non) gaps. Isn't one of the advantages of the Grassy Fields the amount of flat land? Why not just add some extra foundations and put some space in your factory? By the way, thanks for continuing this series, the perfect place for me to ask questions like this.
Well, first of all, I have a problem making them too tight. I have to concentrate to spread things out and sometimes I remember, sometimes I dont. You're right, more space (especially vertically) would help. I also have to get used to not flying a downside of 900 hours with fly mode on to build the star wars stuff I did last game. But really what I'm missing is my beloved catwalks, which help me out a lot, but I'll get those soon I think. I think you're right, I should space everything out more. Its my biggest issue with my iron factory I built in VOD 3 as well.
Ive been watching some of your videos and I think you're great when it comes to game knowledge and making great functional factories. I see a bit of inexperience in your commentary, however. It's not bad and it has enough humour, but I feel like you struggle to explain things as they come up. The first person I watched in satisfactory was whatDarrenplays, and I feel like his commentary flows differently. I'd recommend you check him out if you haven't
I'm streaming tonight. I spent all week on editing. Being part time youtuber makes it tough. I can steam more, but then I'd have no non-vod videos. Just trying to balance a bit.
I forget how much the jet pack leg braces and hover pack change the game so much for you until I go and play on somebody else is safe that doesn’t have it

New viewer here and also a newbie. Thanks for explaining as you go!!

Of course. Next episode drops in a few hours! :)

Sounds good. Let me know if you have any questions along the way.

Dude I'm with you. I replace them ASAP
Great stuff kins. Been following you since 2020 covid time. I really learned alot of things in designing and laying out the factory. Keep it up!
Thanks. And thank you for watching.
Thanks Kinstruction for showing me how to use Hologram! Really appreciate it. I thought I was subscribed since I am enjoying your content; but, I will subscribe now. Thanks again!
You're welcome. Glad I could help.
new to this game. have been watching since 1.0 and cannot wait to get it when it comes to ps5
Nice, well, in the meantime, welcome!

Yea. Probably 100 more too.
"Everything looks good :D" *power shutdown noise* "aw dangit"
Too real, happens every single time
Edit; "If you're playing this game you have at least some OCD" I did not need to be called out today 😅
EMBRACE YOUR NEUROSES.
Damn gonna be drunk with all that depart going on lol
There's no OSHA in space.

I like to set up my biomass input containers with wood on the right and leaves on the left for easy distinction.
I do something a bit different. I stack the containers. The top container is leaves, the bottom wood; like the leaves and trunk of a tree. Easy to remember.
I did the same, just did leaves right, wood left. :)
That's a good solution too. I did that in my star wars playthrough I think.
3440x1440 user her appreciates the high quality.

That FOV slider is cranked!
I pulled it back a bit today. Was hard going too much less, I'm too used to it now lol.
kin tip translated to troll = rubbish tip 😂
*jokes*
Just the tip.

Yea he's a pro for sure. He's the channel I've modeled mine on. Improving my commentary is a constant work in progress.
in game I'm just running around aimlessly and just stare at ugly factories, don't know what to build
Come to my discord and chat. Lots of very helpful members. We will get you straightened out.
Coal power next episode?
Coal will probably be 4 or 5. Still need to do reinforced iron plates, rotors, modular frames etc. Plus I did a bunch of hard drive hunting.
Are you not streaming on YT? Anymore
I'm streaming tonight. I spent all week on editing. Being part time youtuber makes it tough. I can steam more, but then I'd have no non-vod videos. Just trying to balance a bit.
Thank you for all the effort you put in while balancing your career and family life. Great content!
Thanks. It's a challenge but I'm making it work.
I forget how much the jet pack leg braces and hover pack change the game so much for you until I go and play on somebody else is safe that doesn’t have it
I know. The jump from solid biofuel to liquid biofuel is amazing too.
