I hope you now realize there's a much easier solution for this. At the 5:06 point, instead of using a flathead, use a Philips screwdriver and just turn that screw mechanism. It will allow the latch to release and the drawer to pop out. Much simpler, faster and it doesn't irreparably damage the inside mechanisms. Unfortunately, by using your method, this is what happened to me and the latch doesn't click in and I now have to manipulate the fittings because it's been tampered with. :(
Thank you for the video. My drawer front kept falling off and I couldn't figure out why. After watching your video I figured it out. The 4 screw holes in the front board were stripped and too large after all these years of use (17). So I used another hack to fix it. I popped out the brackets and inserted a toothpick into each hole with the screw, screwed it back to the drawer front and voila...it worked!! Nice strong hold. "Clicked" it back to the drawer. So fabulous!! Thanks so much for showing me the mechanics of the drawer. It saved me😊💓
Thank you, you saved me $65 for this - I dropped the drawer and broke the front completely and thought I had to get the whole thing replaced. Thanks again!
Thank you! I’m familiar with IKEA stuff, but it would’ve taken me much longer to figure this out without your helpful video. However, as ZMAC pointed out in a comment below, the Phillips screw hole just below that spring latch is what to turn towards the back of the drawer to release the face. Thanks again!
Thankyou!! I have an old faktum kitchen, and this saved me so much time. I'll be removing the fronts and attempting a repaint, if that doesn't work at least I know we can easily replace the front!!
I know this is an old video, but i thought you'd like to know if you rotate the screw under the saftey pawl, it pushes the drawer front out without the need of a lever.
Thanks for this. On mine the release was a mechanism turned with a Philips screwdriver - but the key was access with those side panels - so you helped me solve the problem!
You are an Angel. Thank you so much for explaining in details how to take the front door out which I had been scratching my head before I found your video. 👍🏻
This is completely wrong! He was right about lifting the safety lock, but wrong about prying it off. Just turn the screw under the safety latch. I’ve ruined my cabinet face, and it’s on back order. Shame on IKEA for not providing disassembly instructions.
One of my Blum's wasnt screwed to the front, but was still clicked into the drawer (was like that when i bought the apartment). This saved me a lot of weird mcguyvering, thanks.
You are a scholar and a gentleman of the highest order. May you live a long and prosperous life as your service to mankind in the form of this video instruction alone demonstrates that you should. Thank you!
great video saved me loads of time and i would have probably ended up braking the draw front without your help, its people like you that makes utube a gold mine for the diyer,i dop my hat to you
I've had the front drawer off a few times now and now it appears the mechanism is locked. It will not allow me to push the front draw panel back on no matter what I do. Any suggestions much appreciated!
Thanks so much for this. Trying to repair a broken drawer front was looking impossible until I saw this video. My drawer is slightly different but the latch mechanism is the same and this was the bit I couldn't figure out. I did use a screwdriver to turn the internal latch as trying to pull with a pair of mole grips whilst holding the tab up was hard work.
This video did help me thank you , however there is easier way of opening it without any power to pull it out, at time 5:05 when you pull up the safety fall you expose the Philips screw driver shape hole that's exactly what you need to do put screw driver in and twist, that will pop out the whole think.
dear i just sub your chanel and appriciate you to upload this kind of video just i took help from ur video to remve my IKEA drawers fronts so thanks again
Plus one to the post below. Just use a Phillips head screwdriver put it in the cross shaped cutout in the middle hole and turn it counterclockwise.... bloop no other tool needed.... in fact you really do only a Phillips head....
Very helpful. I appreciate the work you put into explaining this. It saved me some time and aggravation. It’s this love /hate thing I have with IKEA ;)
Great help but I've been trying to get the whole drawer out, not just the front. Anyone got a clue, I've pushed and pulled everything in sight, so far, no joy
Plus one to those saying to use a Phillips. With top of drawer facing up and drawer front on your left, use Phillips and move the little flap slightly to get it out of the way. insert head and turn clockwise, away from the drawer front. Flip the drawer over, and now with top of drawer facing down and drawer front on your left, do same thing but turn screwdriver counterclockwise. In other words, for whichever side, turn screwdriver away from top of drawer and away from drawer front. Not sure how to describe that. Pops right off. Thanks, everyone. This made it so I could correct my mistake of mounting the clips that attach the drawer front all in the same manner in error instead of placing them in one location for the bottom drawer and another location for the remainder of the drawers. Thanks
He didn't show it in the video but the center latch can come down and stay down preventing you from putting the drawer front back on. I think his was down on the right side when he was showing it at the end. You need to simultaneously lift that thingy at the top and then lift the center latch up then let go of the thingy. That way the center latch stays up till the next time you push the drawer front back on - at which time the center latch clicks back and holds the drawer front on.
Sorry Lad, although your system works, risk of beaking something are high. The only thing you need is a Philips screwdriver. You need to use that screwdriver and lift the metal latch that partly covers a partly hidden Philips screw, insert the screwdriver and turn, each part of the front will immediately remove when you turn.
I should have look up your comments before posting mine. Of course, he's doing it wrong and I hope this will help others to follow the very simple step.
This comment should be pinned, the prying off the face seemed too hard for this complex mechanism. Glad I did more research to learn you can just twist and it pops off!
Too bad. It's a booming business you are missing out on. Tons of contractors now assemble ikea cupboards. And what a waste. You spent all that time learning and now that you know how to do it you won't do it again. I guess if you otherwise have a full client load then you don't need this.
Thanks so much for your video! You basically have it right, but right behind that safety latch there is a screw. You should put a phillips head screwdriver in that screw, and push it to the left to engage the release. I found this video that shows that, I just did it now with my ADEL drawer fronts from IKEA. ruclips.net/video/4zc2_9Ql1t0/видео.html
This is so wrong on how to take the drawer off. Use the Phillips screwdriver under the spring loaded part, turn and it will regaled the drawer front. Don’t ever prize it away.
the amount of head scratching, cursing, and frustration you just relieved me of is not quantifiable! thank you thank you thank you!!!

Yes to this!!!!!! This just saved my sanity !!!!!!!
Just wanted to point this out....
Thank you, you just saved me a ton of time.
Yep, that's totally right. Found it out myself and just wanted to post it. Well done!
You’re absolutely right i had to do a bunch these today and stuck in my Phillips and it was way easier.

Thanks for watching!
I've spent an hour staring at the missing drawfront trying to work out how on earth to do it! THANK YOU!!! :D xx
Thank you, you saved me $65 for this - I dropped the drawer and broke the front completely and thought I had to get the whole thing replaced. Thanks again!
You are welcome!
You save the day for my father in law and me. Greetings from Poland.
Cheers, mate!

Your attention to detail is laudable and refreshing. Thank you.
Appreciate your comment, thanks for watching.

You are so welcome!
Thanks for this. I was able to diagnose and fix my particular problem with this video’s info.

Hello. Thanks for the video, but how to put back this part that you took out. I have a problem with that. thanks for the help.
100 internet points for you today…. That was exactly what I was looking for. Super useful video 👍👌🏻
Glad it was helpful!
You saved my Sunday ! God bless you !
Glad I could help!
Thanks a lot ZMAC LLC, You showed a much better solution in 10 seconds, which this video does not even in 10 minutes ;-)

How did you remove the entire drawer? Trying but can’t find a release.
Great video, much needed. Thanks for taking the time !
Thank you so much for this video! I placed the front upside down accidentally but thanks to you I could fix it 😸
Very useful video!
Thanks mate!👍
No problem 👍

Thank you so much for your help 👍👍
Thanks for the tutorial. You saved my day.
No worries
Very helpful. I appreciate the work you put into explaining this. It saved me some time and aggravation. It’s this love /hate thing I have with IKEA ;)
You don't need a bar just a crosshead screwdriver, inserted into the cross hole and turn the driver, to remove the drawer front.
Thanks mate, you saved my drawer
That was a great help! Thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you ever so much. Works like a charm!
You're welcome!
I so appreciate your 'in depth' demonstration!.. You, Sir.. are an engineer for sure! ;^)
Thank you so much. This was exactly what I needed to know.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done mate .Myhead was bursting with this .I'm about to salute you with a cheeky wee whisky.
Great help but I've been trying to get the whole drawer out, not just the front. Anyone got a clue, I've pushed and pulled everything in sight, so far, no joy
Thanks buddy. Saved me!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for this video. VERY helpful!
You're very welcome!
Guys u dont have to pry. The screw right next to the safety latch is a release. Turn it to the left and the front pops right off
Awesome. Well done explanation. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for sharing this was very helpful!
Thank you for your video. You are the one.
Thank you too!
Great video thanks ❤
Thanks for this vid!!!
Thank you very much it helped a lot
You're welcome!
Dude thank you much!!!!!!
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much, made that easy

I did the same thing. That's how I ended up here.
I can't get mine to click back in
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
This is not the way. Just by turning around the screw under the safety pall, the front of the drawer is “ejected” out of system. No force needed.
Lifesaver, thank you!
Saved my day. Thanks!
Man, the front of my draw won't click back in after this.. help!
It should, and will, when aligned precisely.
He didn't show it in the video but the center latch can come down and stay down preventing you from putting the drawer front back on. Thanks mate. Awesome
Glad it helped
Very helpful. I thought I was going to junk it and buy it all again.
Thank you so much very helpfull
No worries!
Not all heroes wear capes! 🦸♂️
this is a great video!

Got it off ok, only to turn it round, won't go back on, even whacking it hard it won't go in
For ONLY the removal part go to 6:13 to 6:50 and skip the endless talking. Thanks for the video.
Just start out at 5:30 and avoid filler talk if just want to know how to disconnect the drawer front.
Thank you so much.
Thank you very much
🙏 thank you
Bravo🎉
U doing it wrong. If u use a philips screwdriver and lift that lever u see a philips screw. Just twist it and the front will pop off

jump to 6:11 done, time is gold, lol. thank you though!!
Thank you so much!
Tack!
Very helpful
Glad to hear that
Mate what are you doing ? You are damaging the latch. Just use a Philips driver and turn the screw behind the latch counter clockwise.
Amazing, skip to 6 min to take of drawer front
I’ve been a carpenter 18 yrs and just fitted an Ikea kitchen a client ordered themselves. Never doing it again.

Nice video, thanks for sharing!
I fought with this for 10 minutes and lost. I should have checked RUclips, first. Thank you!
So you won. Only lost the first round.
Thanks for watching!
Thx
Thanks
No problem
Quante chiacchiere per una cosa che potevi mostrare in 3 secondi!
