    Man this is Real drag racing! Thank you guys for erecting and growing this program. Great footage! Here I sit with EFI, twin turbos, and automatic... maybe it's time to step back and go hang out with Southeastern Gassers!! Only recommendation is a little more finish line footage 👍🏻

      Thanks for the compliment. Normally we have more finish line footage, but the sun was baking our finish line GoPro and it kept overheating and cutting off. We only have one camera guy who does all 7 cameras (including the drone) and he just couldn't get back down there to check on it. It was cooler for Clay City and Ringgold and we got all the finish line footage there. Thanks again!

      Thanks Mike, It's tough sometimes but we knew from the start that we took the road least traveled. Nothing is changing if anything it will get stricter.

    Very well done! More drone footage - can they hover above the finish line
    for a few passes? If they're off to the side they won't be a danger to the racers.....

      Lol. Just saw this comment from 3 years ago. I wish I could have, but there was only one of me flying the drone and running all 6 cameras (except the interview camera on Mitch) I was only flying the drone before the races and during qualifying.

    Great show Quain. Of course,I have my normal event questions LOL.
    Where was Shannon? Not ill I hope.
    And what about Tim Greer? Surely he don't think Jerry Birch is a better driver? (JUST KIDDING JERRY!) Be glad to see Free Bird back and maybe ole Tim can get back in the Rambler's seat. I used to race a Rambler,only nobody called it that. American Motors Javelin AMX. That thing would outrun a telephone call.
    Like I said,great show, and looking forward to the next one!

      @SoutheastGassersAssociation  7 лет назад +1

      Jerry and Tim are big buddies and Jerry was doing better in the points but blew his engine so he borrowed Tim's car until He got his engine done.
      Shannon just didn't go for some reason. I'm not sure what his reasons are.

    awesome show...now a bucket list to come to one of these events.what wss the brown stuff they kept throwing down on the starting line under the rear tires?

    • @SoutheastGassersAssociation
      @SoutheastGassersAssociation  7 лет назад +1

      Rodger, when the track temp is high the high revving clutch cars are digging up the rubber at the hit so we have to have a guy putting rosin back down after every car. It's the same type rosin that they used back in the day, only difference back then they would put a long strip of it because the traction was so bad then.

    Good racing but show more of the back up girls. They get all dressed up but are rarely seen in the vid.

    I have to ask, why is the pro-street 'Cuda allowed to run, was it "grand-fathered" in? Looking through the rules, pro-street type rear ends and rear wheel wells are specifically mentioned several times.

    • @SoutheastGassersAssociation
      @SoutheastGassersAssociation  7 лет назад

      We have a few that push that limit. Look for rule revisions over the winter to address the issue. Thanks for watching!

    • @SoutheastGassersAssociation
      @SoutheastGassersAssociation  7 лет назад

      Swaybelly I have to answer this question a lot and it is something that we have a little problem with. Our rules don't say the quarters have to be cut out for the tires even tho most do. The rules do say that if the quarters are not cut that the tire has to be a max of 1/2 inch from the lip of the wheel opening so not to look pro street. Even at that I have to agree that the cars with the wider tire's look WRONG if the wheel wells are not cut. Even tho the tire only measures 11 inches wide. For an example the orange chevy 2 of James beard or the falcon wagon of Jimmy Huff looks right with the wheel wells not cut. The reason is they both have a narrower tire like it would have been back in the mid 1960's.I'm not sure what we are going to do about this in the future but we are looking into it even tho they are within the rules.
      Believe me if I could start over there would be a lot of things wrote different i the rules. they would be a lot stricter.
      Stick with me I'll get it in a few years.

    DOES ANYONE HAVE A LINK TO THE "WEIGHT TO C.I." CLASSES USED HERE???? THANKS!

    • @SoutheastGassersAssociation
      @SoutheastGassersAssociation  5 лет назад

      A/Gas is 6 lbs per cubic inch, B/Gas is 8 and C/Gas is 10. There are several weight breaks that you will find in the rules for different combinations.
      I also included a link to our main web site where you will find the rules for each class.
