I posted a "beautiful bottles" video yesterday, Jan. 21st and someone called me out! They questioned if it was even possible to consider Blanton's to be a bottle that I could "go into the store and get right now."
Let's find out! It's the next day, Sunday Jan 22nd. I'm going to hit my normal favorite spots to see if I can find Blanton's on the shelf.

Blantons is 59.99 MSRP. Anyone pricing it at $160, is an extortionist.

It’s easy to find blantons but it’s another thing to find it at MSRP.
This is why I love Oregon. Controlled pricing. Every liquor store in the state sells Blanton's for MSRP.

I went into a liquor store here in Florida and was looking around. The guy was kinda being aggressive about what I was looking for. I wanted to come up with something I thought he wouldn't have. I should have said George T Stagg...I said Blantons.
He starts thinking..he knew he had a bottle somewhere...he looked around a little and then went next door to the bar and found it.
I cringed and asked how much. I started to think of a number I would buy it at. I came up with $110..after all, he had put a little effort into it. And I'd never had it at that point a year ago.
"$249" he said. I was trying to figure out if I was stunned or unhappy. I couldn't ever pay that and told him thank you. The guy got pissy with me and was upset I wasn't gonna buy it for 249. The more he talked the more I'd had enough and told him why I wasn't buying it.
It is. But at least it’s available. Sure beats the hell out of my state where only the high volume stores in Philly or Pittsburgh get a majority of the allocated bottles and smaller stores throughout the state hardly ever even get Buffalo trace or weller special reserve
I would much rather pay an increased cost and be able to reliably find what I’m looking for locally. Don’t get me wrong 160 is nuts and I’d never pay that lol, but it’s still available locally which is more than I can say for my local stores. Can check stock online with pa fine wine and spirits. No store within 100 miles of me even has Buffalo Trace ffs. That should be on every shelf in the county. It’s a entry level basic bottle of bourbon
$169 is ridiculous, snagged Two (my wife was with me) at BT for $63 a bottle.
$65 in PA when they get drops. They are gone quickly and PA are state stores with controlled pricing so that's why you can't find them. If they were $169 here, they would be on the shelves
PA lottery just came around with Blanton’s for $150. Been a long time since I saw it go straight to stores, at least in NEPA where I’m at.

Only time I have ever seen Blantons on the shelf for retail was in Maui. Never thought I would ever find one in the wild.
5 liquor stores around me, only way to get Blantons is to be there in the morning for delivery day.
You have 20 mins till they are bought out. There is a line every morning on delivery day of people buying it.
This is the type of crap you get for mainstream bs.

Most allocated are easy to find in FL. The issues is the prices are 3 to 5x MSRP. Sadly you have to hunt.
This stuff is everywhere in Australia went to a bottle shop the other day there were 15 20 cases just sitting on floor
I actually feel bad for everyone. I live literally right next to buffalo trace. They almost never run out of Blantons. Really any of the goods are not stocked there. I love it.

I grew up in Roseville, and recently was back there doing some hunting. You can find some great stuff if you poke around.
Walked into a random store looking for something interesting. Had one Blanton's sitting on the shelf for 80$. In Brooklyn.

The real reason high demand bottles are hard to find on the shelf is because the vast majority of it gets allocated to be sold to bars and restaurants. Many brands reserve only about 25% of what they ship out for retail.
Actually a majority of the Blantons gets shipped outside of the US, mostly to Asia.
Clearly no one here lives in southern Wisconsin lol I never see it and I’m always keeping an eye out
I picked up a case last week at the local Sam’s for 52.00 per bottle and a case of Eagle Rare for 28.00 per bottle! They also have OF 1920 46.00, Heaven Hill 7yr 32.00, B Trace 22.00, and Sazarac rye 22.00
I can find it everywhere for nearly 200... At msrp is what's hard to find. 160 is robbery
You can find every buffalo trace bottle in Sacramento you just got to pay.
Here in the UK it’s £75 / $92 and is readily available through online retailers. Lucky us 🎉

Love bourbon wine and spirits. Hate the secondary market though. Every liquor store that's not selling around the same as everyone else is losing money. Can't really blame them. It's unfortunate people keep paying the ridiculous prices

I see Blanton’s here also, but there wanting like $300 for them I think that’s why it’s still sitting there. I see the EH Taylor Small Batch Bourbon more than Blanton’s and at a reasonable price. 🥃

Any charging 1$ over msrp should not get allocation.
Impossible in Ohio. You have to be the first 6 or 12 in line ( 1 or 2 cases) when the allocated bottles are released which means you have to be in line 2+ hours early. They are gone instantly but we pay $65 in Ohio as the price is set by the state. It gets dropped once every few months

Or if you live in SW Ohio, just make the 2.5 hour drive to Buffalo Trace. I have done it both ways.

170 lol I just paid 80 bucks for my first bottle of blantons and sadly was not that impressed. Which makes me very sad. Idk if I got a bad bottle or too young but it was just ok..I was so disappointed lol
I just saw it at chicagos O’Hare airport of all places but they wanted like $149 for it. Almost did it since it’s the first time I’ve ever seen it in person but not for more than double the msrp

$119 in Thomson, Ga. Only 2 small liquor stores in my super small town, so anything allocated is luck of the draw.

You won't find any where I work. I haven't seen any in months. But if we do get any we sell it for less than $60, not a hundred dollars more.
I traded my uncle a 30$ cartridge for one of his bottles..it's good not worth anything over idk 60$..straight from the barrel I would pay more though

I know a little store that has the 375 ml blantons and probably 5 other bottles. They also have Weller cypb for a grand.
People complaining about the price. Just don’t buy it and eventually the price will have to go down or it will get tossed.
Bourbon is a game. You just have to play the game better than the makers of the game. Make them remember that they can easily go out of business as many of them did in the past. Whiskey and bourbon makers once upon a time were almost extinct in the USA 🇺🇸 and we control if they stay in business today. Not them because what good is a product if you can’t sale it?

Texas is almost impossible to find these. Last month Specs did an allocated bottle drop and people started lining up outside the store around 5 pm 3 DAYS BEFORE the morning drop. All to get a few bottles of Stagg Jr, Blanton's, maybe an Elmer T Lee and some Col. By the time the store opened that morning the line was well over 1000 deep. Texans, myself not included, are fucking stupid.
