  • Today we're reading the best reviews of the Tinker Bell films, where we learned about Tinker Bell's pre-Peter Pan origins as a tinker fairy in Pixie Hollow. But what's the bigger question: what kind of fairy would you be, or why did Disney end the series on a sad note?!
All reviews are from the site Letterboxd.

Good news! You don’t have to be a tinker fairy if none of the nature talents suit you! The books and movies have other talents, like scout, dust keeper, alchemist, tree bark rater, Frost, snow, glacier, Baker, Doctor, painter, miner, fire, storm, story teller, amongst others.

Honestly it was kind of a perfect little cinematic twist. Tinkerbell get SO FUCKING CLOSE to fixing the moonstone and she wastes it on a minor mistake. It makes sense to her hotheaded, brash inclination to not think twice about lashing out at her friend, and she.
She was SO CLOSE to winning and she LOSES IT. it’s so infuriating and it feels so unfair but it is exactly fair and that’s what makes it SO UNFAIR and I am STILL MAD ABOUT IT

In the tinkerbell movies you’ll see the fairies giving free pixie dust in exchange for a basket for example….

The part where you included giving everyone the same paycheck, thats socialism and not communism, since communism has no money.

How do I know it's Wendy? Because when she gets her music box she runs away with the object to call her mother and her mother replies "¿Yes Wendy? This is the first Tie with the Tinkerbell movie and the Peter Pan movie, So in the second movie in the scenes of the journey of the tinkerbell, one of these scenes you can see the skull-shaped rock, another indication that very possibly the movies Be from the same universe as Peter Pan, now we go with the movie fairies and pirates where it turns out that the villain of the movie is Captain Hook himself from Young In addition to the fact that there is a post-credits scene where Hook is stranded at sea and asks for help from a passing ship and Mr. Smith responds, (I also forgot to say why in that movie they show the origin of the crocodile when it was born and how a clock ended up in its stomach), So my theory would be that they were going to make movies focusing on the friends and other Tinkerbell characters as well as they did with Fawn and Zarina and to close the saga they were going to make the movie where Tinkerbell meets Peter Pan

First time I watch TinkerBell and the legend of the Neverbeast was with a friend for her 15th (maybe 16th) birthday. She was saying how sad the ending was so we watched it. As it got to the part where they’re saying bye to Gruff and giving him gifts, I said, “What’s TinkerBell going to give him? A hammer so he can nail some babes when he wakes up again?!?” My friend, whom was sobbing at this point, nailed me in the face with a pillow. It took us 20 minutes to get through the end of the movie because we kept laughing at my dumb joke.

Some of the Tinkerbell movies had like... abnormal but still good messages for kids? Like in the second one when Tinkerbell broke the Magic Thing (sue me i forgot my tinkerbell lore) but still did her best to fix it, and found a solution even when it couldn't be magically fixed. Great for kids. Or the last one, when Gruff does actually go back to sleep, but the fairies help him? They were not perfect but entertaining. I enjoyed all of them specially Lost Treasure (my personal favorite cuz I just love the fairy that sings the way to the mirror) and Zarina’s (the lore deepens there and we get to know Captain Hook when he was younger and why he has something againts Tinker Bell)
Talking about the lore, I always had the theory that the babys when laugh for the first time and a fairy is born, the fairies in question share either the same talents/personality as their baby or appereance. I started thinking that when I saw that Terrence resembles a LOT Peter Pan…what if Terrence is the fairy that was born from his laugh?

    • @sundae_z
      @sundae_z 2 года назад +11

Not technically. Then again, Tinkerbell lore is pretty messy to begin with, and was essentially supposed to tell the "origin story" of Tink from Peter Pan, but we never actually find out how she met Peter, let alone where all her friends went. And what happened to the whole, "If kids don't believe in fairies, then the fairies die" thing? Either Disney gets its lore straight, or we rewrite the whole thing ourselves. I love the Disney Fairies movies, but there are some SERIOUS issues that need to be worked out.
Sorry for going on a bit of a tangent, btw.

This probably wasn't intentional, but in the last scene the pirates have during The Pirate Fairy, Tom Hiddleston's character Young Captain Hook yells: "Curse you fairies! Curse you!!" And after that movie, Disney released a very emotionally intense Tinker Bell movie that was thematically out of place in a franchise filled with fairly wholesome stories. After that movie was released, the Tinker Bell franchise ceased to exist. My boy Loki cursed the Tinker Bell franchise out of existance! lol! 😂
PS: On another note, we know that all of this takes place before Peter Pan, but at the same time it just doesn't make sense. Over the course of the series, Tinker Bell grows to be a more kinder person and becomes less moody. But in Peter Pan she's full of vanity, snobby, and treats Wendy like she's a bigger threat to her world than even Captain Hook. A real life explanation for this is that Peter Pan came ot way before the Tinker Bell franchise even existed. But as for the in-universe explanation, I got nothing. Do you guys have any ideas?

It was fine for the first few years but after a while it got so annoying that even the second oldest (who were twins only 13 at the time, meanwhile I was 17) started to get annoyed despite having been guilty of it since they could talk.
It didn't help that as more kids got old enough to do it, more time had to be dedicated per movie to calling characters and it made them unwatchable for the first half until everyone was introduced.

He does little houses and cottages on occasion, often asking me things like: "Do you think they'll like it?" or "Do you think they'll take it and use it as their house?" and I just never really know what to say to him except that he always makes the best miniature cottages and always paints them so carefully because he wants them to look pretty enough to grant a fairy's eye.
When we found out why a movie hasn't been released in years, he was pretty devastated and we played the whole playlist to listen to.

I shouldn't have been surprised how many of these reviews and comments are from girls/women, but somehow it still surprised me.
I watched all of these films with my little sister and I'm pretty sure I introduced her to them because I already saw the first two before she was old enough to watch them with me (one being before she was born and the other being when she was a literal baby.)
My sister and I didn't rarely got along but at least she was like the only person who never made fun of me for the things I liked.

They also made a bunch of fun DS games based on Tinker Bell! The ones that I had were just the basic one and the Great Fairy Rescue one. I’d spend hours dressing up all the characters. Also I had a beautiful pop-up book with an amazing art style about Tinker Bell that I adored. I’ll see if I can’t dig it up…

Silvermist, Rosetta, iridessa and Fawn in the 1st movie
Terence and Blaze in the 2nd movie
Silvermist, Rosetta, iridessa, Fawn, Clank, Bobbie AND especially most likely....Vidia in the 3rd movie
Makes sense now if you ask me😂😂😂

    • @leontineketting97
      @leontineketting97 2 года назад +2

the 3rd movie it MOSTLY involved Vidia when it comes to risking her own life by doing the right thing FOR Tinkerbell
the rest of the gangs just helped Vidia to come to the rescue for Tinkerbell
when it comes to risking their own lives it's Vidia most of the time
following after Tinkerbell was already something but right after that, i didn't expected Vidia to do all the risk once it got out of hand
that's why i said "especially most likely Vidia" (half of the times it was based on her so it kinda makes sense)

Bruh I'm about to cry, when i realise just now "Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast" was the last movie.
Tinkerbell has always been me and my sister's favourite set of movies along side the barbie ones. It was part of our childhood, as our dad collected all of them for us to watch, and when a new one came out, you bet your ass my dad found a way for us to watch it (granted it being a bit hard back in the city i lived in brasil as everything came out maybe a year late). With the neverbeast being the last tho...i can't help but remember it being announced and we desperately wanted to watch it, my dad was able to get it and we did our routinely family nights on friday (where we watch any random movie my dad can get his hands on) and watched it, and cried, and waited for the next one, not knowing it would be the last.
The one with periwinkle, forgot the name, was personally me and my sister's favourite, fight me. But it could be about our huge bias since we are twins ourselves. It was nice to see twins being shown as something other then copies of each other, as their own character. Idk it was really nice
I gotta agree tho, the treasure thingy one was the one movie i got yhe most frustrated with tinker, she was my favourite to say the least, but that movie just- really got to my nerves, but i still enjoyed it XD

  • @nik_nikkii

i feel like tinkerbell is relatable.
although she was literally born a while ago in the first film, and me being born in 2006, we both don't understand the concepts of society and the roles they put us in.
tinkerbell is a tinker fairy, she crafts things, but she wants to do more in order to achieve her dream. however, the other fairies try to put her in her place. i adore her motivation to try to get to the mainland, and although it didn't work the first few times, she actually caused a revolution and made everything better not only for her but for the rest of pixie hollow. (she also has anger issues when nothing goes her way)
me, autistic, doesn't understand social cues, body language, those things, but always tries their best to be like everyone else. in the end, i always end up doing my own thing, and for others it sounds amazing, but to me, it's just the same old thing that i enjoy doing. (i also have meltdowns when everything goes horrible for me)
tinkerbell is literally me. and to think, me, 8 years old, just thinking the first film was just a kid's movie that i enjoyed, when it's actually a pretty accurate representation of my life.
i've never realized, i related to tink this much up until now. there truly is magic.
**also fawn was my childhood crush, that's how i realized i was bi.**
