Ikr, its so sad seeing good shows becoming absolute bullcrap.
There was a serious rebranding after parents started complaining that the dolls (and the cartoons based on them) were too sexualized because many of the girls wore short skirts and heavy makeup. So the character design took a heavy hit, and I imagine all the other touchy themes went away to avoid making parents angry. (Because apparently even implying racism is a thing in the modern word is enough to get parents to boycott you, nowadays.)
Idk if you know this but monster high is making a movie soon coming out in 2022 on nick and re-releasing frankie,dracualaura and clawdeen

When I was a kid, I kind thought she was... you know *b i r t h e d* into the world like everyone else. Birds and the bees stuff. Now that I’m much older and had read Frankenstein, the idea that she’s a reanimated corpse seems so freaking mind blowing but it totally makes sense and is very plausible. Especially when you consider that whenever humans are involved in the movies/shows, she’s always the one that tries to improve bonds between humans and ghouls *because she most likely used to be a human as well.*

Suggestion: Monster High fans should just band together and raise a shit ton of money to buy the franchise back from Mattel's greedy, grubby, money-hungry hands. We could get the original creators on board and start churning out actually good movies again, with as many uncensored minority characters as we want.

I'm still not over the fact that they have a Monster High/Ever After High cross-over story boarded and in the voice acting process when they rebooted MH and cancelled EAH, we were so close.
This cross-over is on You Tube as storyboards with dub. At least, it was made like this, it's better than no cross-over at all.

@@luqaas Basically, In Friday Night Frights only guys could participate in this game called "Scream". It's like advanced roller skating with some fighting. So the girls decide to just play it themselves when no one else wants to. Allowing both girls and guys alike to play.

Here to say that the books I read about Monster High are so entertaining, and I'm a dude in my twenties. The final cliffhanger for the first book in the series is literally "I think you need to get your act together and figure out which of you is taking me to the school dance." which is so funny to me. "Frankie was made for the main character role" And she is, in this book series!
Also, the other Monster High book series I read had an autistic-coded Gargoyle girl who is so precious.

I collected those dolls for YEARS as a kid and I watched most of the movies. The best one was Ghouls Rule, fight me
Ghouls Rule was my favorite out of the Franchise, and it may or may not have been mainly because of my fat crush on Jackson/Holt at the time, lmao.
It was my first Monster High movie, so it holds a special place in my heart. Also, it's about Halloween so that is great too
Tho I also really like Boo York, so it's hard to decide 🤔

(Edit 2: I feel like we should rise og-monster high back from the grave because the franchize gave off the gen z energy we're trying to radiate now-a-days {plus the themes they had included everyone from lgbtqia to people with disabilities and interracial relationships/ethnicities which was pretty ahead of its time for a kids franchize})

as someone who's never seen monster high growing up
this feels like watching a documentary on an ancient civilization that soared high and glorious at its zenith, but decline sad and rapidly, with only sparse and derivative cultural pockets behind

I had probably around 20 dolls that I only got 60 bucks for when I sold them. Definitely not enough but it's been about 2 years.

My mom was kinda liked that except she had the mindset that it’ll mess up my head due to them being “scary-looking” and “boy-ish” to her, though she’ll still let me watch them and even bought me monster high related things, especially the dolls. She would try and convince me to be more obsessed with Barbie since they are more colorful and look girly but to no avail
i find the need to say that kiyomi (from haunted, the girl with no face that changes colour)has a crush on draculaura and nathan was supposed to be gay also. my dude is a walking pride flag. idk why they didn't let clawdeen and the others be gay and lesbians because it would have been a big step. idk how they could say they weren't ready when the creator was the only lgbt+ person working on the show.

it felt to good to hear that Garrett has confirmed that lesbian Clawdeen is canon but I really wish we could’ve seen it happen in the episodes and/or movies

At this point I feel like like Mattel should cut the "family friendly reboot" bull and just rate it pg-13 and use that as an excuse to go twice as hard on as the original on representation of minorities and discussion of actual social issues. I mean, there are SO MANY teen/adult fandoms for kid's shows! It would do great!
Honestly. I want monsterhigh to have a darker macabe vibe for the old generations who grew up watching monster high. I mean theyre already making a new line of dolls based of off iconic horror films anyway.
Same with Ever After High. The original fairytales are so dark, it would be easy to make a more mature reboot for the people who were fans as kids and are now adults. I would love to see and EAH and Monster High reboot that takes it to a darker level (like a good reboot, not something like the teen Winx reboot on Netflix). If done properly, it could be a really good show. And we could finally get the cross-over we were promised.

I wasn't into Monster High that much (it was cool; however, I still liked EAH better), but Ever After High was my favorite show for years! I wished that the universe was a little darker and more mature, because as you said, the original fairytales were DARK, dark as hell, and that would've been cool to see how it would've panned out in the show. (The darkest I'd say that EAH got was "Spring Un-sprung", as well as the Dragon Games). I partially read the books, and I was introduced to Monster High due to the crossover that was one of those books. Also, on a side note, I love your profile picture and username. Kitty Cheshire is my favorite character. I had a bunch of EAH dolls when I was little, though my parents forced me to give them to my little sister when I grew older, except for one doll that I was allowed to keep... I kept Kitty because I thought she was amazing. I still have her to this day. My second favorite character was probably Darling Charming, but I liked Kitty more, ha ha ha.

Oh gods, hearing the Monster High theme there at the end……no words, just a huge wave of nostalgia over my heart. Don’t mind me, I’ll just be crying in the corner cause the 'Good Monster High'TM is no more. (Seriously, the day I saw a new doll with that giant smile plastered over her face rather than the usual 'resting face’, I knew it was over for the franchise, it down-graded massively.)

All the boo-York songs are INGRAINED in my memory for all time. I literally jammed to them every day as a kid. Probably my favorite movie out of all of them. I’m also going to go read Valentines Diary because I love lore and I’m TO curious for my own good it’s freaking calling me man.

Not surprised about confirmation the existence of Greek gods, but I need an Olympus High.

When you think about it Deuce wouldn’t be too found of Percy Jackson (if they were in the same universe) because Percy chopped off Medusa’s head but think about the reaction between them (sense there parents dated) not to mention that Percy is dating AnnaBeth (daughter of Athena) and Deuce Probably know how his mom became a monster and Deuce probably saying meeting Athena would’ve been awkward

I'm genuinely shocked I never got into Monster High, it's exactly the kind of thing I would've adored as a small child. I think I'm gonna try and watch it.
Edit: I just remembered that I, at one point, had what I think was a DS game based on the series that I played constantly I wonder if I can find another copy of it.

1. I still have the dolls and they won't leave my room until I move out (shout out to Ghoulias scooter that I got way after Monster High was famous for a cheap price and one of the books)
2. The reboot movies are non canon in my eyes
3. Clawdeen is definitely gay for Draculaura
4. I only watched Ghouls rule, the one with the tkis and the dude that turns giant and Scaris and still consider all of them masterpieces
5. Mattel definitely ruined Monster High and doesn't deserve them anymore
6. I'm 19 and openly admit that I still love Monster High!

I loved these movies as a kid! "Boo York Boo York", "Why do Ghouls Fall in Love?", "Scaris City of Frights", "Frights, Camera, Action", "Haunted", and "Great Scarrier Reef" were the ones I watched, I now for some reason want a doll of one now.
The reboot sucked the soul out of the franchise and only gave you a sliver of our beloved characters in return.
Personally I like Electrified. Only because it's really hard to see good stimming representation. It's great to show kids that kind of thing. Would a saved me alot of guilt for "not quite" slapping my hands.

13 Wishes is one of my favorite Monster High movies. It gets dark as fuck. Howleen basically traps her friends in the lamp, replaces them with shadow versions of them, gains a fucking cult, Lagoona goes insane there’s no sugarcoating that, and then Whisp is given the opportunity to grant wishes and is still trapped in the lamp, but now she actually has NO ONE with her. She is all alone. All she wanted was a friend.
Also Twyla is best girl.
The best part of any media that involves Frankenstein is when they make sure to point out that Victor is the scientist, bonus points if they make sure to remember he is still *Monstrously* unethical
I think a huge reason as to why people love monster high so much was bc they actually taught you things about society and the characters were so uncommon and unique that it was hard not to fall in love with the characters.

Sadly, these movies weren't something I grew up with but me and my sister love watching them now. These, the Tinkerbell films and the classic Barbie films are my guilty pleasures. I actually have a ton of monster high dolls just sitting in a bag waiting to be taken apart and customised lol.

I remember when monster high first came out. I was instantly in love because Dracula was pink and a vampire, but my mother was a little on the fence because the dolls were monsters and the commercials seemed kinda "scary". Luckily I was able to convince her to watch one of the MH movies with me and my English Major mother was instantly won over by the clever monster puns that saturated the movie.

I have no clue how to save, and I have no clue how to load my save file consistently, and I have not passed the first section yet, BUT I also haven't played it in a while, so I might've just been bad at video games. Both the movie and the game are p cool though. I also have some monster high dolls hidden away in my doll box. I never like consistently watched the show, I just enjoyed the movies that I saw. I'll admit I wasn't a big fan of the monster high dolls since I was more of an Ever After High kind of person and preferred it more, but man did I love watching the Monster High movies when I was younger. Cancelling EAH and rebooting MH was Mattel's biggest mistake.
