Y’know how some of us are born to teach ? Joe, you surpass the efficacy of every teacher I have had in my life !! It’s 3.30am, in the wee hours, but I’m transfixed by this series (the playlist for the Science component in 5357 !!) .. Saddo ? Yup!! Proud and out. Our society needs to recognise that people learn differently !!

thank you for making these videos free and on the internet. I have been struggling to consolidate what I'm learning but with this actual physical example ive been able to really figure it out. this makes so many pieces fit, you're a life saver!

Joe....I'm not a sparky but have studied quite a lot in my own time as a hobby. As you say "The Mystery of the Fluorescent Lamp" has always been true in my case. Simple explanations with visual aids are always the best for me and I can't wait for the rest of the series.

I have an Associate in EE along with other degrees and I love your videos.
I finished my first two years in EE (BS program) but never finished my degree due to switching into the CIT program which was brand new at the time offered by Cisco & Microsoft. The IT training has come in really handy setting up and maintaining my business's network which is a little more complicated than normal. I can't exactly say the same for my electrical engineering classes 🤔
Farming only uses small amount of Algebra and due to being a machinist a decent amount of Trigonometry. I've never had any use for Calculus or Differential Equations.
I just wish I had an instructor like you in college some 20+ years ago which would've made my life so much easier 😊

Whaaa! 😄 See? This is what I meant in another comment I made: quality and complete content! Others won't touch on Pythagoras and trig. You even made those videos to explain for people that don't know.
    Solid channel!

    Hi Joe
Thank you for your clip, very appreciated which is good help to understand part of the electrical science.
As we don't use chocks as we used to..is that possible to demonstrate a clip about electronic ballast or HRN and how to TEST THEM when the light is not working.
Please if you can explain how...
    Thank you

One more thing when you check the voltage for lamp which is just under 200v then how you connect the voltmeter to the lamp what is the diagram?

    • @JoeRobinsonTraining
      @JoeRobinsonTraining  3 года назад

I can't publish a diagram here but I'm just measuring from obe side of the lamp to the other. 👍

In other videos, you talk about "Power Factor" (Pf) and the undesirable effects that it does on our power systems. The corrective capacitor in this circuit is added to eliminate the effects of the inductive load making the Pf closer or equal to " 1 ". I wonder what happens to the Pf if this capacitor added makes the circuit is too "Capacitive"? Would that also generate Pf in the opposite direction. The total impedance Z would have and negative angle theta. Would that also produce a "Power Factor" since Pf = cos⍬ ??? I wonder. I'm sure you've talked about this on one of your other videos I haven't seen yet.

Yes adding excess capacitor s make the system away from power factor of 1, allowing more apparent current to draw from the grid.

Hey, can you just drop your intro video? and start with the work I've been watching all of them and have to skip it quickly because it's getting annoying beside that the content is great.
