@@robfolk7619 There's a running lane between home and first, but not between any other bases. And there's no set base line on the field - the runner's base line is only established when he's trying to avoid a tag. When that is the case, he can only go in three feet in either direction to try and avoid the tag. But if nobody's trying to tag him, a runner can go where he wants. Now, he can't stick his hands out to try to interfere with a throw, but Machado didn't do that. He ran on the infield grass. It's unusual, but he's allowed to do it so long as he's not actively trying to avoid a tag.

Not wild at all because it was perfectly legal. They even teach baserunners to do this, because there’s no official running lane between first and second base. He didn’t look back to avoid the tag, nor did he threw his arms up to interfere. It was just a heads up play on his part.

I'm not a fan of either team but how was he not called out for that? Literally changed the whole inning.
@@robfolk7619 because there’s no official running lane between first and second. He didn’t look back to avoid the tag, nor throw his arm up to interfere. It was legal

Not wild at all because it was perfectly legal. They even teach baserunners to do this, because there’s no official running lane between first and second base. He didn’t look back to avoid the tag, nor did he threw his arms up to interfere. It was just a heads up play on his part.

What dodger pitching? They don’t have any. They’re all on the IL and it’s not like SD can hit the bullpen even after carrying them all September.
