I love these kinds of long video essays about niche subjects and it's like I've been blessed with this channel in the most random way possible.

Five years ago I got scammed by my friends to buy 100 euro's worth of Dogecoin. They were hyping me up saying things like: "it will be at 1 dollar next month!".
Suffice to say, teenage me spend his 100 precious Euro's, and after the promised returns didn't materialize I felt pretty stupid. They laughed at me for three years...
But guess who had the last laugh last year?

Ouch, this is really sad for the founder but greed is all over: in business, investing, even something like selling a simple bike.
This is why regulations that are both loophole free plus strict enforcement with a 0% chance of going Scott free is the only option on top of making crypto traceable to the point we can even track where the supposed scammer is.(applicable to digital payments too)

They changed the Bitcoin code in their fork to make the coin inflationary, so it will always lose value under the line.

Yeah, but it's a pretty tiny amount, the amount is a set number per year such that as a percentage it goes down over time, and it can be argued that the inflation actually makes it more attractive as a (mostly future) spending coin since it'll bring the currency-conversion number down. Its inflation over a long period of time is way less than the US dollar, for comparison.
The fact that the founder of a JOKE crypto raised all that money and gave it ALL to charity in 2 years, while "Indieland" failed to donate ANY of its earnings is baffling.

I actually knew a guy in college that invested heavily in dogecoin and the next semester, he bought a brand new Scion FRS. The next semester, he traded it in for a new Jeep. He also was a part of that sponsored Nascar. He paid his entire college degree with that stuff. It was incredible.
I never heard of the bit about DogeCoin funding the Jamaican bobsled team. Good shit, Cool Runnings was one of my favorite movie as a kid.
