My Dad was a Carpenter, pretty much worked with wood all his life. He could see things in a piece of scrap timber no one else would. That is a fantastic table, cant wait to see what the Butterfly or I think you call them Match Book pieces turn out like. You should be proud to be able to create beauty from what lots of folks would throw away as scrap or put on the burning pile. I wish you all the best in carrying on making fantastic things. Beautiful , in its simplicity, with your issue cutting the steel , the chop saw blade is your issue, look at the new generation TCT STEEL CUTTING BLADES, they will stop the burring on the steel and leave a clean cut. Love your work, and that you have now started your own business. Dont forget to use a respirator with the black walnut.
I will look into those blades. I ended up going back to my porta-band. I also need to get new cartridges for my respirator. The sander does an amazing job of collecting the dust but the router is another story😁

That table is absolutely beautiful. The only concern for me is how thin the attachment wood is for the legs. I hope no one ever sits down on it. It would be a shame to ruin such a beautiful piece.
I have oversized stainless steel washers with the bolts. Pretty much the entire section of wood would have to break off. But let’s hope no one sits on it😅
@@marknunya3035 About 20 years ago I was working on a road construction project. The county was considering changing to the metric system so the job was going to be done with metric measurements. Very nice!!! If you make one out of the madrone, it will probably sell quickly. You can put a metal cutting blade on that abrasive saw and use a speed reducer to drop the RPM. I've done that and it works fairly well and will suffice until I can afford the saw that I want. The blade and speed reducer were from Amazon. Madrone once was marketed as California Cherry. It is hard to dry. A lot of it was produced on Humboldt Bay and dried in the salt air. I also have heard of it drying successfully in the basement of a horse barn. Like any hardwood, you cannot use Doug-fir drying schedules.
Thank you, David! The best luck I’ve had with Madrone was from a deadstand. Even then, it warped a little after drying. It sure can finish out nicely though.
As I suspected...you are an Artist! Absolutely beautiful! By the time I can afford to commission one from you I am afraid I will be at the bottom of a very long and prestigious waiting list! Can't wait to see more builds! I am so happy for your new adventures and that they are already paying off!

Jason, great work on that table. I’m sure you know that they make saws that cut with a carbide circular blade. I’m sure that would do better. Thanks much for sharing your video. Just a thought, have you thought of learning to TIG weld. Those legs would look great with some dime welds.
